UPDATE 9/6: "The author has posted a new update, it seems you won't get to keep it after 14 June unless you install it before then and keep it installed. Once you uninstall it after that date it will be removed from your steam library" - Credit to uvbunny in the comments. May or may not be true.

Free to keep when you add to your account before 14 June. Rated "Very Positive".

PRESS ANY BUTTON is an arcade-style game. It has a big emphasis on story, but it will also put your reflexes to a test!

I cannot find a way to add this to my account, the only option I have is "Free To Play" or Pay for the DLC

I'm guessing you just need to start the download for it? Or maybe you have to open the game once

      • I'm on my work laptop which is a mac. Even easier, wouldn't let me download it as game is Windows only but it's now in my library haha

      • Yes can confirm its been added to my Steam Library after click Play (and cancel the installation)

        Thanks OP!

    • same with bappy.
i think this is become free, not discounted to free

    • Just click "play now" whilst logged in and it will be added to your library.

Claimed. All I did was press Play Now. Then cancel the install and the game was added to my Steam library.

    From the developers

Press Any Button won't be free anymore
Starting with 14 June 2021, new players will have to buy the game. If you already have it in your library, this change will not affect you in any way. And if the game is on your wishlist, you have 7 days to claim it for free. Hopefully, this measure will help me to fund the development of my new game which is still going on but not as fast as I expected.

    All the best,
    Eugene Zubko.

The author has posted a new update, it seems you won't get to keep it after 14 June unless you install it before then and keep it installed. Once you uninstall it after that date it will be removed from your steam library:

Okay, it's embarrassing. I should have made more research before posting my previous announcement. In it, I wrote the following: 'If you already have the game in your library, this change will not affect you in any way'. Sadly, the truth is that it's not the case. Today I received a message from Steam Support providing the following information:

Please note that free players won't keep the game. If they still have it installed, it should still be playable, but after uninstalling, the game will be removed from their libraries.

I was sure, for some reason, that after switching a game from free to paid all free users will keep it forever. But they will not. I want to imply that it was my mistake. Steam Support are very nice people and they have nothing to do with this misunderstanding.

Sorry for being such a dummy. I really should have obtained more information before making any announcement. My bad.

Now, if you want to play the game, you have 3 options:

Do it before the end of the week. It will only take you about an hour.
Install it before the end of the week and play it later. The game will be removed from your library only after uninstalling.
Buy it after it becomes paid. I will be grateful if you do. The game is not going to be expensive.

I can't help but feel that I'm making an excessive amount of unnecessary fuss around my game. I don't mean to. After all, it's a little thing, not a masterpiece or something. But for me as its author, it is very flattering to see that after reading the announcement about switching the game from free to paid, thousands of new players downloaded and played it.

Thank you for your time and your feedback!

    • Thanks for the heads up, I've quoted you in the OP. Though someone did say this.

    • Kinda feel obliged to pay for it after reading that.

In a veritable sea of shady, snake oil salesmen game devs on Steam, this guy seems like a real gem.

      :-)

    • Wasn't true after all.
