    Since they started making polyester. Canvas is more of a cloth style than a material definition, or are you one of that "it must be hemp and nothing else, even cotton is too 18th century" lot?

        Ah, so a pedant then. Trouble with pedantry is you've got to be correct when making your assertions. Dictionaries reflect usage, not define it and aren't comprehensive otherwise definitions would be ridiculously long.

        Just have a search for "polyester canvas" and see the number of vendors/cloth manufacturers using that term. You'll also find nylon canvas, rayon canvas etc.

          @banana365: Polyester Canvas is just marketing speel going by your comment you would also consider PU Leather to be Leather."Dictionaries reflect usage, not define it" no dictionaries give the true meaning of a word however if you feel that way I would suggest you use an encyclopedia. Common language does not make something correct.
