Good …….$300 for a remote in 2021……when your phone does all the same stuff?
If you have kids that you don't want to give phone, this could be an alternative options.
But with $300, I agree the price rather steep
$300 is more than my phone is probably worth.
I suppose a cheap android tablet or iPad works better?
Or even better , just use the phone you already carry with you.
What's the benefit of something like this these days? Seems like a lot for a remote, wouldn't smart phone be sufficient?
So… it's a remote control specifically for Tuya ecosystem IoT products? Does it support Kasa / Yeelight / Philips Hue etc?
This remote is already more expensive than some of the daily driver smartphones that people carry. More expensive than my Samsung Galaxy Tab A, even.
People are spending million$ on NFTs, I'm sure there's a market for a $300 remote control.
Keen to know if this can be flashed to work locally only and eliminate cloud dependency.
Can someone explain its purpose ?
Programmable remote for smart home.
It passes the butter
300 for a remote ? Hope they come with a pack of smokes included after getting screwed like that
Why the neg though? Have you considered the equivalent Logitech Harmony prices?
This isn't for TVs and such though. This is literally just for controlling your Tuya ecosystem around the house. The Harmony is actually way better.
My harmony cost me $99 bucks and I had it for years….. So I doubt there is much more on offer for me to consider…. But I won't be negging as I'm not the targeted demographic….
Just get a cheap Xiaomi phone and use with wifi even without a sim.
It has IR blaster for other devices with IR remotes too, so it will be a total solution :)
These look like ripped off Neeo remotes (not that Neeo exist anymore). .. and for something with a "wireless charging base" seems to have very visible contacts unless they mean you dock it to charge and 'not use a cable' therefore wireless?
