  • These look pretty good…I've always wondered how much difference a standing desk makes.

    • +3

      probably around 20-30cm

    • You'll use it sitting 90% of the time… but 10% of the time you'll absolutely love it.

Also, been able to adjust to my moment to moment ergonomic needs (so my hands are in a good position - straight or pointing down, not bent up at the wrist - which causes RSI over the long term) is also the secret and not so talked about killer app for these types of desks.

      • Used my Zenspace desk 100% standing today. Feet are a bit site, despite mat to stand on

  • Tempted to get the switch pro but $50 shipping kills the deal for me…

    • +2

      hasn't come out yet

  • I ordered one of these and had it for about a month, I returned it under the 100 day free trial claim, which was hassle free (full return - $50 shipping). Which was great of Omnidesk.

Great sit/stand desk, way better than the Ikea Bekant I had.

For me, there was a small amount of wobble (I am quite tall), which bothered me enough to rerturn it. I am sure that it would not bother some people but I am particularly picky about it (it was pretty minimal wobble).

I think you are going to get a small amount of wobble with any sit/stand desk, but I would say this is one of the best for it. Just not for me personally.

I am back to my regular desk.

    • I had that concern when I ordered mine but in the standing position I'm mostly in meetings or watching a short bit of YouTube so not doing much typing. I'm 6'3" so at the upper end and using monitor arms.
There are other benefits besides being able to stand, like the small adjustment to sitting height, the size of the desktop (go for XL if you can), and the build quality which is great, also customer service was a very good experience.

    • was this the 2020 version which they claim to be less wobbly?

    • So did you have to disassemble the desk and put back in the boxes or did they just pick it up as a complete desk? I don't really think I'd have a problem, but would like to know what are the mechanics of this.i can imagine there would be people who throw away the packaging straight away and then run into issues that result in product return. $50 return shipping itself is not that big a deal for me. It's the idea of taking it apart that is 😅

      • Yeah. I took it apart, bubble wrapped and boxed it (keep your boxes for the 100 days, I didnt and had to make do with some awkward DIY boxes), and they sent a courier to pick it up. Got my refund a few days later.

If you have a electric screwdriver setting it up/taking it down really isn't all that hard.

Great price, I wish they had smaller size options though (I need a 2nd desk to fit a small space)

    Desky also has $150 off
ZenSpace has $100 off + free shipping

This deal works out better though

  • Tempted to pick up the 180/183cm desk, but it's hard to choose between the three different standing desk options.

For the bamboo ~180cm desk with cable channel, Desky is marginally cheaper (to Melbourne/VIC)

    Desky (180cm): $937.95
    Omnidesk (183cm): $939.00
    ZenSpace (180cm): $948.00

    • +2

If you buy cable channel and power board from Desky or ZenSpace, I believe it's integrated power such that the plug of the standing desk that powers the motors also powers the power boards (so you only need one plug to power everything). Whereas omni doesn't have this, you'll need to use 2 power points and more cables

  • For those who are really savvy, their black friday was 51% off. (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/499819)

  • +1

Slight typo OP, it’s $871 for the wildwood collection (smallest 48”/122cm table) instead of $817.

$950 for the medium 60”/152cm and $1030 for the XL 72”/183cm. Personally prefer the wildwood collection but seems expensive for a sit stand table even with the 33% discount.

  • I purchased this on 21/6/21 most components were delivered on SUNDAY 27/6 except the desk table top. The delivery guy (third party company with extremely negative reviews everywhere) said you should have the desk table top by Tuesday 29/6. In the tracking system it’s been checked in to some warehouse everyday since Sunday but never arrived. I rang omnidesk on Friday, it turns out the delivery company recently took over from another third party who was terrible. 🤯 so due to many complaints next week they are meeting with the delivery company to resolve delivery problems.

It appears the issue is the third party gets a full desk ie 3/4 pieces, they split it and deliver the less bulky then in the future when they feel like it, deliver the bulky item. God knows why not just do the job once and for all.

My house is 45km from the Victoria based warehouse, they don’t have an option to click and collect.

Sorry for the long write up.

Going by reviews and the desk I saw in their showroom, I hope when it finally arrives I will feel better. I’m frustrated.

    • Thanks for sharing. Did you get it in the end?

      • +1

Yes it turned up yesterday 7/7/21.

The poor delivery guy said “I don’t normally do this route but was asked to help”. Anyway it is what it is.

        My review:
        - set up 2hrs with tools
        - instructions to setup not so great use the video provided in email from company
        - desk is nice (very nice)
        - the power cable connector is too thick, you can’t thread it into the under desk tubes. Easily hidden with under desk cover (the thought of me going back to omnidesk for just a slim cable - nah can’t be bothered).
        - packaged quite well (not APPLE Inc - good) only problem getting rid of packaging material (you will survive).
        - used it today the whole day, it’s very good going up and down

        Must have:
        - cable management unit - it’s soo good

Overall, it is very good. I sincerely hope omnidesk get its act together and use a decent service provider. Cheap service providers will compromise your reputation. Sorry I’m just being frank!

You have a good product but delivery is painful and I am not sure why they suggest that customers download the stupid app to track their delivery. The app collects a whole load of data which has nothing to do with my desk. Alternatively you can use web tracking sent after the desk ships.

Note: unpaid review free contribution to my ozb community.

        • Well I'm starting to think of investing in a proper desk with cable management and an arm for my 49" monitor and laptop. Sounds like the next sale they have will be one which I bite the bullet and spend more than $200 on an IKEA desk!

For the cable management unit though, isn't it just a tray with hooks?

          • +1

@jace88: The cable management unit (see below) comes with 5 screws. I have the 1800mm desk. On my desk I only used four screws, I fixed it into the suggested position. This is under the desk opening (Pass-Through Grommet) which is perfect as all cables are minimal on my desk. I can pop the lid and take/ hid cables when required.

I also use a dual monitor hydraulic arm from a third party supplier. It does the job.

            https://theomnidesk.com.au/products/cable-management-bar

I have set the desk at a comfortable standing position. Minimal wobble if any that would worry me. Maybe because I am not that tall.

I don’t know much about the ikea desk, I personally did tested the following other desks:
            -lifespan 1800mm
            -office works

            Good luck

            • @Ginger1: Thanks for that. Can I ask as I wasn’t entirely sure from reading the website,’does the cable management unit have predefined mounting points on the underside of the desktop or do you need to make the holes to screw or in wherever you want?
