Nintendo 3DS $198 @ EB Games

71

Not sure if this is a great deal, but it seems to be based on Big W's price of $249 on their website.

All 3DS consoles are at this price.

UPDATE: From the comments you can get this for $178 at participating Westfields http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/62645#comment-745246

  • harvey norman have it at the same price, but thats not to say this is not a great deal!

  • K-mart also have it for $198…. just sayin..

  • JB had it for $194 up until yesterday. DSE had it for $189. Not the best price, but it's probably the cheapest at the moment.

  • Incl the zelda limited ed 3DS?

Might be sold out a while ago…

    • Unfortunatley not :(

  • I saw it at Costco (Auburn) for $187 (and something cents) if anyone is interested.

    • Including the fee you pay to actually shop there, it works out a little more expensive. =p

      • Forget about the membership fee adding to the cost…it's all the petrol you burn circling the car park looking for a space that does.

  • This is a pretty standard price…

  • How come these were so cheap before christmas, I dont think $198 is a deal at all!!!

  • Not a Deal! HN has it for $189. It says pink only but I bought the cosmos black from springvale for the same price.

this is the standard going rate currently
(the neg is not just for this deal, but also for EB)

You cannot Neg just because you don't like a store… Plus it is not the going rate. Dick Smith has it for $238, Game has it for $249 and so forth. It has been cheaper but at the moment this is a good deal.

You can get it for $178 if you combine it with this: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/62648

Just buy a $150 EB gift card, get the $20 gift card, and pay the $8 difference.

    • hmm, could of saved myself $20 just a day ago!

      Damn!

    • Just did this, $178 is great for a 3DS

Then trade it in for $173 on a Vita :D ($140 + preorder bonus, correct pricing as of two weeks ago)

(Reason I recommend trading it in is not fanboyism, but because Nintendo has confirmed there'll be a hardware revision to add a second thumbstick etc. There's an add-on for the first revision hardware but it makes the whole package too bulky)

        • Nintendo has confirmed there'll be a hardware revision to add a second thumbstick etc.

They haven't confirmed this at all.

        • Correct, sorry. I was reading somewhere that Nintendo Japan confirmed it. I was obviously reading a sensationalised newspiece.

Only the additional thumbstick is confirmed. Known as the "circle pad pro". Released in Japan last year.

I can understand that revising the hardware poses great risk at annoying their customers. It's an opinion, but be prepared for Rev 2, thumbstick, slightly larger screen or battery since they have more space. I think you'd be mad to believe that it isn't going to happen.

        • Well, of course a hardware revision is going to happen at some point. The same can be said of just about every video game console ever (including the Vita).

        • Of course it is.

But I am suggesting its in the "nearer future". It's also a walloping difference to the bulkiness of the 3ds.

  • Bought one on Boxing Day for $179 at JB HI-FI in Brisbane CBD. It's still under $200, so not a bad deal.
