I tried to use the ozbargain uploader but keep getting "Invalid username or password".

If you are like me you rarely go to sizzler or other restaurants due to the fact that there are still plenty of 2 minute noodle packets & baked bean cans left in the cupboard. But with kids birthdays and the like it's sometimes hard to avoid the place (for me anyway). When i do go there i only ever get the salad bar, the other meals are expensive for what you get and to be honest you be happier paying less for a better meal at the pub. I make sure i arrive on an empty stomach and stay for as long as possible for the best value. I also NEVER go at night, lunch time salad bar is much cheaper and if you eat enough you can often skip dinner to further your value ;)

      i too miss sizzler… loved it here in SA. Still get my sizzler bread fix from woolworths (La Famiglera Pan Bread)

        It's easy to make, a buddy used to work at Sizzler…here's the recipe:

        Slabs of bread of your choice.
        Margerine of your choice (Sizzler used to use Meadow Lea IIRC).
        The old stinky Kraft Parmesan Cheese (green can).

        Mix 50/50 of the latter two, spread it on the bread, grill, enjoy! :)

        P.S. FWIW, I really miss their potato skins! :(

    Ah, there's nothing more fun than having a 3 or 4 hour long lunch at Sizzler with a few friends :)

      it was in that big fat roll of junk mail that gets thrown on the nature strip. Among it was the usual coles, woolworths, office works, eagle boys etc.

    People get fooled into thinking something is a bargain when it is a buffet but they are rarely good value.
    The food at sizzler is bland and unappealing.
    For the same price (including this coupon) you could easily get much better food elsewhere.
    I guess this might be suitable if you feel that quantity >>>>>quality but lots of terrible food is worth near nothing to me.

      in fairness, when you compare sizzler to food star, smorgies, village green, anything else in Melb. Sizzler is much better. I loved sizzler when i was at the gold coast… the missus wouldnt let me head down the road 4-5 shops, If you know what im talking about ;)

      Bland & unappealing???
      I don't know what Sizzler you've been to, but every time I've gone to Sizzler I get the Salad Bar, & I absolutely LOVE everything there is to eat!!! Fresh food constantly being brought out, interesting salads, pasta dishes, soups, the desserts, oh & don't forget that never-ending supply of gorgeous cheese bread!!!
      Compare that to the many other restaurants I've been to, buffet-style, sharing dishes (Chinese restaurants for example) & ordering single dishes, Sizzler is definitely the best Quality I've come across, & I'd definitely pick it over some place where they give you a giant plate, a meal the size of a matchbox (& probably has the same taste) & a bill for $100++!!

      It always used to be, only trouble is that IIRC they aren't too stingy with the steaks you pay for…so you end up missing out on the bulk of the salad bar coz you're too full to fit much in! :(
