Good deal, picked it up last time!

    • How long was the delivery time?

      • Mine was like 2 weeks.

      • Took a while, but most other received theirs sooner.

  • +3

Anything on the Yeelight Pro? Been waiting on a deal to come up for that.

    • managed to pick up 2 pros at around 89/90 each from an Ebay store after all discounts & cashbacks and the store luckily had their own discount on a minimum spend.

      • got link?

        • +2

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184780132073?var=692520138402

thats the listing I bought from but seems like they have removed the sale they listed on the pro. I think they still have a 25$ off on over 250 spend + PM1517 code + Cashback on giftcards which should bring it to 100ish but def not as good as my 90 a piece or the all time low I've seen once before on OzBargain. Just got them in today so will test them out over the weekend.

          • @razorite: I got two of the non pros..love them

          • @razorite: Awesome, I got two @$105 AUD each.

            Thanks for sharing.

          • @razorite: What's the difference between the Yeelight Pro and xiaomi - just the rgb and app control?

Where do I put my webcam if I get this

    • On top of the light!

    • +16

      On your other Dell monitor.

    • Yeah this was something that annoyed me slightly. I just put it on the side monitor and webcam on the main one. Surely I could mount them all on top of each other but I do have more than 2 monitors, making that not possible.

    • My Logitech webcam (C270 HD) fits right on top of the light in the center with no issues.

  • +2

I recommend the Xiaomi light. The wireless controller is very handy and I'm pleased with the overall light and build quality.

    • +1

It adds US$4.25 shipping, still cheaper via link in description with coupon BGDEBAS

  • F. Bought it 2 weeks ago for $68. Still hasn't arrived yet though.

    • Amazed how this is still expensive. Got mine for less 4 mos ago. Good lightbar

  • Anyone with experience with Banggood, how long do items normally take to arrive?

    • About 2 weeks. My experience has always been fine. Nothing has gone missing.

      • The only thing is if you aren't home or if it's not delivered successfully for whatever reason, they usually send it to some random nearby store instead of to the post office. If you haven't received something in a couple weeks, you should check your banggood account.

        • Use auspost parcel collect address.

    • +1

So far so good. Ordered the light the last time and the delivery dude actually came up 2 flights of stairs and left it outside our door - no other delivery guy has done that (other than food delivery peeps)

    • Once I received two Xiaomi fitness bands instead of two Xiaomi phones. Obviously there was quite a price difference between what I'd ordered and what I'd received. I contacted support and they sorted a refund within a few days.

  • +2

Bought one last deal. Good quality but my controller was faulty and I'm still trying to resolve with banggood. Painful.

Also, be mindful to remove the shipping insurance that banggood automatically apply to your order.

    • What fault are you experiencing?

      • Doesn't connect with the lamp, doesn't adjust warmth or brightness, when you press and turn the controller it runs against its base and makes scratching sound. Tried different batteries and it just won't work.

  • Is any one using this with a dual monitor set up, I have 2 monitors so wondering if i put this on one, will it cause eye strain?

    • I have two of Xioami ones for each of my dual monitor. Got rid of my desk lamp that's taking up space. Highly recommended.
Don't get one. It will be uneven lighting.

      • Thanks for that, that is what i was thinking, using one in a dual monitor setup might not be ideal.

      • But I put lifx globes in my two desk lamps, lol.

      • +1

@Azumii, are the controllers individually paired to each light or does one controller operate both lights simultaneously? i.e. if you own two of these, will the controllers conflict?

        • I was wondering about the same. It will be good to know this.

        • +2

Lol these are separate. I placed two remote controller on my desk next to each other. No issues.
If you have dual monitors, buy x2 Xiaomi ones.
Don't get Baseus or other generic brands.
Benq is the best but too exp.

          • @Bumhole: @Azumiii are you advising against Baseus due to quality issues? Anything specific? Thanks.

    • I have the Kogan one, it's only 25 bucks, and after using it I don't know why anyone would pay more for this one. It doesn't have a remote, but so what? It's got touch controls and colour temp changes on it, along with 3 stage dimming. I can't imagine you'd need more than that.

Also one is fine the Kogan one is as wide as my 24" monitor, and it lights up the entire area just about in front of both monitorsz as my monitors are slightly angled in (as I believe they should be). Not that I need it to but I would just get one, I ain't buying another one. I mostly use it on the odd occasion when I need to read, print or sign docs, which is not that often. It's not 1985, we do things electronically these days

    • +1

Depends how your dual monitors are set up. Symmetrical (monitors side by side), you’d probably want two. Asymmetric (main monitor in front of you, with secondary monitor to the side), single lamp on main monitor works fine - that’s what I have.

Would basesus be a good fit for work bench since it is magnetic?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/pinnacle-1405-x-1100-x-540mm-com…

    • +1

This is what I want one for, too.

  • +1

Been using it for nearly a month. Good quality made in China product.

  • +1

    Thanks, just grabbed one.

  • Is the desk lamp good enough for video conferencing?

    • +2

It's made to illuminate the desk, not your face

    • +3

you are looking at wrong product.. perhaps search for those ring selfie light :)

  • Thanks - bought one! Bought one from a previous deal and it's been great. No more table lamp to take up desk real estate

  • Silly question but can I use it on my laptop?

    • I want to know too

  • JBHiFI on sale now. Bought it for $50 few months ago, now $29. Still cheaper then importing - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/baseus-i-wok-screen-light… Baseus I-Wok Screen Light

    • I wonder if it's the same product as this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/363072899412

    • On the box it says only suitable for monitors up to 200mm thickness..still fits on my dell s2721dgf which is >200mm but just hope the extra pressure due to the thickness isn't causing screen damage.

  • +1

Bought 2 xiaomi lights for the missus. Thanks OP.

Also tried to get the Baseus lamps with no luck. It said the code exceeded 150 applications. Does anyone have this issue?

    • +1

Code must be expired as it's limited to 150 units. There's another coupon although it's $2 more expensive. Can use coupon BGAUBAS if you still want to purchase.

      • +1

        Thanks adr8.
The code worked and somehow brought the total to aud $48 for 2 items, making it even sweeter :))

  • Bought 3 , one for myself and 2 for a gift

  • Received mine about a month ago and took ~2 weeks to arrive. I can't imagine life without it now. Being able to change the color hue is wonderful and the build quality is excellent. The only issue I ran into was the manual and the box was completely in Chinese so I had no idea how to change the hue with the controller when I first hooked up the light. Luckily the controls are all listed out on the banggood's product page.

    — photo shows it works with curve monitor. anyone tried with the xiaomi 34" curve?

    • I use it with the Kogan 34" ultrawide that uses the same panel as the Xiaomi Mi Display.

    • I tried it on both Xiaomi 34" curve and a 27" IMAC. Works great for both and doesn't cover camera on the MAC

      • Can it be used on laptops?

        • Tried it on my Dell G5 15" - doesn't feel stable. It wobbles quite a bit. The light bar is also much longer than the laptop so that makes it look odd. 17" and thicker laptops might be better but can't confirm.

  • Got one thanks! I did use my new ANZ credit card instead of my ING though, and got charged ~$59 cause of the foreign transaction fee 😒

  • +1

the gold standard for this application is the benq but it's pretty damn expensive, how does this one compare to the benq one?

    • Great question, although I'm not sure many ozbargainers would have forked out for the benq one

  • Hmm. Do you get any glare?

    • +1

There's a fairly wide range of tilt adjustability, so there's no glare because you won't be pointing the light at the monitor.

  • +5

    Ordered because you all ordered

  • I'm going to wait till the price of the xiaomi drops further.

  • I got the Xiaomi during the last deal for a Samsung CRG9 ultrawide. The screen is just a little too thicc so the base slides forward, causing the light to shine back onto the monitor. This can be fixed with a blob of blu tack on the base to help it sit correctly. Overall, really happy with it :)

  • wow this is incredibly popular and I still don't really know what they're for (despite the generalised benefit of reducing glare).

Would a logical step not to have desk lamps or reduce brightness of the monitors?

I'm sincerely trying to understand how big of a difference this makes..

    • Desk lamps will add glare onto the monitor.
Reducing the brightness of the monitor isn't ideal either.
      I think that's it.

      • mmm bought one to try it out

    • still don't really know what they're for

They are just a lamp really. I'm getting 2 for our study so we can save desk space instead of having a desk lamp each.

  • I have not yet got delivery of my last order of this Xiaomi desk lamp. Its been over a month now.

  • +1

Flash deal on at the moment for US49.99 shipping locally - seems like a good deal if you want it quicker + the OP's deal is now US45.05 after discount.

    • That pushed me off the fence - ordered!

    • OP's deal is still USD43.85, the US45.05 still has the shipping insurance included.

      • Missed that - thanks for correcting.

  • damn forgot to uncheck $60.85 Paypal conversion

  • Just received mine from the Aus flash deal - pretty nice. The long press on the remote is supposed to be "computer modes" but all it does is look like I'm at "red alert" with no way to get back without readjusting everything. So what's this good for?

    • Really? My one hasn't even shipped yet (the one being shipped from China, in the original deal)

      • I took the AU warehouse deal. About USD6 more (ordered on Sat and got it today)

        • Damn, if I could cancel my current China order I would and get the AU$65 deal going right now.

          • +1

@theguyrules: Order mine on Saturday, received on Wednesday. It cost me $AU 59.67 with the $US 2 discount you get for signing up.
Paid in $US and let my credit card convert to $AU.
Quality seems good, although a lack of English instructions while expected is a little annoying.

  • I can see that Banggood is still awesome at being the "bang" without the goods…

Got an email saying that they are out of stock today many days after I bought the item (I bought the item on the 14th).

Typical of them to oversell more than what they have in inventory, though it wouldn't be so bad if they just marked the item as out of stock. At the time of posting their website is suggesting that they still have inventory…

But seeing how difficult they can be when it comes to customer support and customer satisfaction, I am not too entirely surprised about it.

    • Mine is still "Estimated to ship before May 20, 2021"

      Yeah right.

      • According to live chat:

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. The item in your order is still restocking, due to the fact that it is highly requested. We expect the new stock of this product to arrive around 02nd June.

  • Seems to be $62.81 from the AU warehouse for the next 7 hours in a Flash Sale. No coupon needed

    Shipping 3-7 business days
