Xiaomi Roborock S5 Max Robot Vacuum Cleaner: International Model - $554 Delivered @ Electronics Superstore via Kogan

286

First time poster, long time lurker. Please be gentle.

International Model Sold by Electronics Superstore via Kogan.

Noticed this has been reduced with the Kogan deal going on at the moment: Spend $100/$200/$500, Save $10/$25/$75 @ Kogan
Usually $629 save $75 = $554.
$4 for express shipping.

Not as low as the previous $479 deal with Tech Warehouse via Kogan but still decent for those who missed out on that deal. Picked one up myself :)
Enjoy!

I got one from the $479 deal, and my partner & I have been incredibly happy with it.

If you're on the fence about robot vacuums, so were we, and this one has impressed us immensely!

So many received S6, after they ordered from this store.

Can read about all the pain everyone went through in below thread.

    Will avoid this store.

      seems like alot of complaints

      • I had no issues with my order with them. The correct model delivered quickly.

    • That deal is with Tech Warehouse, this one is Electronics Superstore. Have personally got a tracking number already from them, will update on my order once it arrives

      • +8

Same store.they changed name after sending dodgy model and no invoice.

I personally did receive the correct model. But havent received the invoice.

Mine invoice still says power cord for 0$.

      • +3

It's the same store. They changed names.

        • They probably had many shops/company names under the same Kogan flagship ownership.
Kogan, Crazy Sales, Dick Smith etc are actually under same company with different websites and address.
They basically sell the same products and same price unless on special sales/discount.

          • @Michael Lim: I don't think you're aware that Kogan is now a marketplace. This has nothing to do with Kogan/DS being the same company, which we know.

On every listing there's a Sold by ___. This listing is by a third party seller Electronics Superstore, which was known as Tech Warehouse up till last month. They probably changed their name after screwing tons of people over.

I was one of the unlucky ones, however within a week of contacting Kogan I had the correct model in my hands and damn it is amazing

      Edit: buy at own risk

Kogan replaced the Roborock S6 Pure with Roborock S5 Max for you?

        • +1

          They sure did.

I sent it back on a Tuesday using the return shipping label, sent them a photo of the box and recipt as proof. Next day they sent the S5 Max, which arrived the following day, Thursday.

Still not good enough to get it so wrong for so many people but at least they fixed it quickly, in my case.

  • Been using the older model for 3 years now.. cannot fault it for sweeping or software or hardware or longevity..mopping is a gimmick though, not enough of a downward force to make it effective. Looking at buying the self emptying unit now.viomi s9..looks like xiaomi is using multiple brands not just roborock. 799 on pre order atm https://www.mi-store.com.au/viomi-s9-robot-vacuum-automatic-… but no idea on how it is in terms of value.. works good as per youtube videos but the roborock unit has lasted 3 years without spares so I will wait for reviews.

Edit..I would rather buy Banggood than Kogan.. these guys dont even respond to complaints or enquiries,, Kogan is a terrible company in my experiene and IMHO ,, will never buy from them

    • Does your Roborock get charging errors from time to time?

      • Nope rock solid..not one problem

      • Mine does. It stopped charging altogether eventually. Was a good unit while it lasted, but the charging error - error 13 - is quite common. There are a few fixes available - requires change of battery or charger or some soldering on the motherboard to replace a component (a resistor IIRC). Too much hassle.

        • Yeah I'm getting error 13 almost daily. Have you found a good replacement for your old Roborock?

  • What's the difference between the international model and Chinese market ones other than the manual language? Just the server? I see these on sale at Aliexpress also

    • No difference as long as you get the genuine product and it works out of the box for a month..if it fails after a month no back up unless you paid double from an Aussie retailer and not Kogan because Kogan is worse than Chinese retailers…All you get is an auto reply and no follow through at least thats all I got

    Weak deal

  • +1

Pretty good price not $479 but still decent
Hopefully these will be sub $500 everyday of the week soon

  • +2

Preordered mine and took 3 months to arrive.
Was from this store, previously named tech warehouse.
    Absolute bullshit.

But the vacuum on the other hand, worth every cent. Paid $650 for it then too. Extremely worth it for $550

REALLY concerned about receiving an S6 Pure instead (as per the other thread). Kogan in general has been good to me. However, I've never ordered from a third party store before…

  • +2

I also got the S6 Pure when I ordered the S5 max.

We've had this one for a few months now, first robot vacuum. As another poster said the mopping function is a bit of a gimmick but the time it saves for vacuuming is amazing. We are really happy with our purchase. In a house with 2 young kids and 2 dogs, a combination of hard and carpeted floors the vacuum has no trouble with all of this, we run it several times a week. On top of that I love feeling like I'm in the Jetsons when I'm sat on the couch watching Netflix as it whizzes by :) If you're on the fence I say get it - you won't be dissapointed. (I can't comment on this store though, I got mine from Dick Smith of all places - and there were no warranty issues so ymmv).

    • Dick Smith is Kogan, but more expensive. They bought the name when it went under a few years ago

      • It was an Ozbargain.. this one I believe. I didn't have any warranty issues but sounds as though if you do this company might be a bit tricky. If I had known their reputation I might not have bought but I guess it worked out.

        • +1

Note that Kogan and Dick Smith, besides selling their own products, are also a marketplace like e.g Amazon or ebay, that allows people sell their own goods and they take a commission. The Tech Warehouse seller you linked to, people are saying that it's the same store as this but they changed the name, maybe to cover their poor history. What they should be doing is making up for it with good customer service moving forward, not trying to pass themselves off as someone else

  • +3

Due to this sellers incompetence I will never buy from Kogan or them again. Avoid at all costs

  • Any idea how to get the new S7?

  • +4

    Buy at own risk.

Kogan is already a no-go for many on here. But even worse is this marketplace seller who Kogan knowingly knew screwed over customers
in the previous deal and still permitted them to continue selling on their platform and even allowed them to change their name.

Zero trust in Kogan. And not just isolated to this deal but my many issues with Kogan as the seller with falsely advertising items in stock or preorder dates that get pushed out considerably. Almost a running joke on all the horror stories on here.

Obvious appetite here from people waiting for the S5 Max to go back on sale……

HERE IS THE CHANCE LOCAL RETAILERS TO SWOOP IN AND GRAB THE SALES FROM THIS MOB….

Im also waiting for local retailer deal on these…

  • +1

Contacted Appliances Online, they won't price match Kogan but will price match dicksmith which is $609 at the moment.. still not cheap enough…

    • +1

Appliances Online is selling oz stock - if they are price matching Dicksmith then I'm going to be all over that

Edit: yep, just got Appliances online to price match and actually knock $4 off the price, so $605 delivered. Pretty sure it is oz stock, even if not much happier to get it from Appliances Online, their service is far superior some dodgy third party seller on Kogan

      • do you call them or send a message on their contact page?

      • I just rang App Online. Told me they can’t price match with Dick Smith because they’re owned by Kogan :(

        • +1

Sorry mate, they must have wised up

  • waiting for price reduce again to $479 or lower

  • S7 out in 9 days

  • +1

As dumb as this sounds, this price is only available to non-Kogan First members. When I sign into my account it comes up as $609, but when I sign out it comes up as $554.

Not that I would buy anything from Kogan anyway, their service is atrocious. Doing something as simple as cancelling an order needs to be done via support and that alone takes days to get done.

  • +1

Would want to be an epic deal to make me want anything to do with dodgy Kogan

  • price still showing $609 with kogan first? Expired?

    • Silly thing is, you only get the extra $75 off if you don't have kogan first.

  • Anyone bought from this deal and received the correct product of S5 max? I'm still trying to find a good deal on this product. S7 is pre ordering now but S5 max price is still rock solid high

    • +1

Yep, I received the correct product s5 max. Kogan also sent an AU plug for the vacuum. No issues with the order and love the product!

      • Yes, also received as above. Haven't used it yet though.

      • Which server do you connect to?
