I've had one for a month now and I'm really happy with it. The only issue I have found is the keyboard sometimes misses key presses, so I have to type a bit harder than usual to not miss any.

Err…no discrete graphics card and they still want $2.5k - $3k. Am I missing something?

I thought the whole point of a Razer laptop was so you could game,

It's the "all work and no play" edition of the Razer stealth series.

It looks like a direct competitor to the Dell XPS line (specifically the XPS 7390), which is also a 16:10 touchscreen laptop that's sold without any nvidia or AMD graphics, only Intel XE.

Presumably it works rather well with the external GPU box of theirs.

      • +1

Expensive way of doing it. $500+ eGPU enclosure then you need to buy a GPU (good luck)
Not a particularly good CPU either

The portable computing equivalent of a mullet, perhaps.

I know it isn't like for like but when you can get an Aero 15 with an RTX 3070 for ~$100 more or a Blade 15 base with a RTX 3070 ~$250 more from the same site this becomes a tough sell to me.

Not as slim, but both slim and would destroy this. I don't think the Razer brand is as valuable without the horsepower, but that's just my opinion…

A good alternative if you really need slim and light is the Asus Zephyrus G14, you can get one with a RTX3060 but it's more expensive at $2899, however you can get one with a GTX1660Ti for $1899 which is a much better than the OP. That's probably not the best price around either

    • Razer Blade is 6 core btw…

This is a competitor to ultrabook lines. not gaming

      • Even so, an XPS 13 with similar specs will set you back ~$2100 and an XPS 15 with a 1650ti will be ~$2300. A Macbook Air with an M1 chip is ~$1500.

I struggle to see the value in a Razer laptop if you aren't using it for gaming, as mentioned previously.

As a side note, their customer service is atrocious.

        • Eh some people like the design as well as the USB A ports offered in these laptops. Still way too expensive

  • MacBook air M1 makes much more sense.

    • If you don't need windows only programs then yes, it is a better deal.

    • +1

Shame it can't run windows. I like Mac hardware but all my programs are PC.

Looks like a great laptop and people comparing it to 3kg gaming laptops above are missing the point completely

    ..Just too expensive

    • 3kg laptops? The Blade 15 is 2.09kg, similar weight for Aero 15 while the Zephryus G14 is 1.7kg
      Compared to Razer book's 1.4kg.

mfw macbooks are starting to become the reasonable buying option… a year ago everyone hated apple for their prices and here we are.

  • 4k on a 13 inch screen… makes zero sense from any perspective
