I still reckon by far the best gifting service is prezee. Really seamless, decent range of cards, and sometimes has bonus offers.
Hi Jimothy, Prezee is great although we are very different in that we are not a gift card. When you send someone a Shout, they receive instant access to a prepaid Mastercard so they have the choice to spend their gift anywhere they choose, unlike a gift card.
Hybroid - Yes we do charge a service fee of 7% on the total of your Shout. For example, if you shout someone a coffee for $5, we'll add on a service fee of 35c.
The fees cover the running costs of the app, the issuing of the prepaid card and the infrastructure to support the program. We hope you'll send and receive Shouts so you see for yourself what a great experience we have created.
is this just another money transfer app, essentially a beemit.
Nope we are not a money transfer app. When you send someone a Shout that get instant access to a prepaid, digital debit card to add to their digital wallet. You can customise each Shout with an image like a selfie, pic of you and your mate and add a personal message. It's a great way to let someone know you're "thinking of them" to say "thanks", "I miss you", "congrats" etc. You also only add 1 Shouta card to your wallet because its reloadable so each time someone send a Shout, the same card is topped up.
Is this any different to www.airshouts.com ???
Hi JV, this is totally different to Air Shouts. AirShouts is the same as Appreci and both of these platforms require cafes and coffee shops to be involved with their program. You cant redeem coffees sent by either anywhere you choose, unless they are a participating venue. With Shouta, when you send someone a Shout, they receive instant access to a prepaid, digital Mastercard so they have the choice to spend their gift anywhere they choose.
A charge of 7% to send money. WTF !!
Trashcan, this is 35c on the cost of a coffee. There is a sophisticated tech platform that enables a great experience for both the Shouter and Shoutee
I remember when another similar app came out called thanks or something like that. Were offering free coffee and none of the cafes i went to even new want it was. Seems like a scam tbh.
Hey you was like this and had no restaurants in my area lmfao
Hey you is legit to be fair. I used to use it regularly and heaps of places in the cbd supported it.
Rebranded to appreci.
Hi there, we are not like the other apps and platforms that require cafes and venues to participate. When you send someone a Shout, they receive instant access to a prepaid, digital Mastercard so they have the choice to spend their gift anywhere they choose.
What a joke
Can you share the joke? We love jokes!
Not interested bye
It's a prepaid Mastercard. Take your coffee shout and spend at the local strip joint. They take contactless payment right?
Ya exactly.. Reading their 'About' description makes it initially sound like it will be restricted to the coffee shop where your "micro gift" thoughts and prayers was bought at.
But then that's thrown out the window when they state you can spend this anywhere
Nothing that we say anywhere in the app or on our website states that you are restricted to a cafe. Also, you don't buy Shouts from cafes, you purchase them through the app. When you send someone a Shout they get instant access to a prepaid, reloadable, digital Shouta Mastercard to add to their digital wallet. Then they can spend their Shout where ever Mastercard is accepted.
Unfortunately not! We block certain transactions and a strip joint would be one of them.
We block certain transactions
How do we know what is blocked?
Doubtful anyone is signing up to use it, I would say the deal is sending the $5 to someone and basically not getting charged to do so.
We have thousands of users :) Sign up and join the fun
This has to be one of, if not the worst names for a company.
They need a name that's cutting-edge, like CutCo, EdgeCom, Interslice.
I appreciate this.
We LOVE our name. But thanks for your feedback
Anyone got the $5 Mastercard yet?
Yes.
$5- 7% is not worth my time to give more details away and download yet another app.
Wow are these guys using fake, bot reviews to pump up their 5 stars rating on the Play store?
Lol pretty obvious one bot was late posting his fake 5 star review..
We dont use bots for fake reviews. There are some strange reviews on there we agree! And we are trying to get them removed
Wow already expired so soon…
Still works
It still is working.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Its still working but we won't be giving away $5 Shouts for long :)
I actually found this app very interesting, Compare to Beem it, you don't even have to have a bank account to use the funds, as long as you have a smartphone that supports digital wallet. It also generates a virtual master card number in the app with a legit card number, expert date and CVC, wonder if I can use this to purchase stuff online, would be great if this works then I do not need to provide my actually card number when shop online anymore.
Two things I am still unsure, it says it will deduct a 7% fee, so if I send someone $5, is that means the recipient can only use $4.65 or the fee is deducted in advance? Also I have not seen anywhere to link my existing account to fund the account, do I need to add my credit card details at some stage?
having to add a credit card or debit card to fund the account essentially means you need to have a bank (or credit) account to use funds in the app. So your first comparison is kinda moot.
Hi there, thanks for the great feedback. Yes you are able to use the card online. Just enter the card details, CVC and expiry - but check your balance before you make a purchase :)
The 7% fee is for the Shouter, the person sending the Shout. So for a $5 coffee you will pay $5.35. Fees are capped at $10 on higher value Shouts.
Your Shouta card is not linked to your bank account so you cant "top it up". Only someone else can send Shouts to you. When you pay for a Shout, you can either enter in a credit card/debit card or use Apple Pay. Google Pay for payment is coming soon.
Hope this info helps
Thanks for the detailed explanation, that is exactly what I need, looking forward to seeing the google pay option soon.
This is not how it works. See our comment above
Anyone find a way to log out the app?
Even deleting it and reinstalling does not log you out
You can not sign out of the app. We dont store any card details if you enter them manually and if you use Apple Pay you will need to enter your password or use your fingerprint to pay. Also all payments are protected by 3D secure
Is the code not working? Have just tried signing up and it says code invalid? Thanks
Hi there, unfortunately this deal was limited to the first 50 redemptions.
But stay on the look out for more deals coming our users' way!
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy sending and spending Shouts :-)
Oh great, another "me-too" app that will fall into irrelevance pretty quickly.
Edit: Read the T&Cs before you spend money on this…
