  • Thanks OP Good deal

  • Keep it under 10lbs to get free postage from Australia post. You will need to choose Australia post, it is near the bottom of the cart (Free for orders AU$51.28+). Code can only be used once.

    • Be aware that the order needs to be under $154… Tried to buy $400 worth of vitamins and had to drop it down… DHL was over $50 so will hold off on some items.

      • Sorry about the wrong information, my order came to $150.61 at a bit under 10lbs. When I added another item which took it to over 10lbs and I got charged postage, So I thought free post was based on weight. I now see it is based on overall spend, not weight

    • Can't use AusPost with "large" (read: larger than an ant's balls) items, or if your order is more than about $150. I am able to use it maybe 1% of the time.

  • What do people normally buy

    • Protein, powders of any type- usually cheaper

    • -5

      Herbs.

I buy a red one and a green one and mix them together to get some first aid spray for my booboos

    • +1

5htp, meltatonin, curcumin, womens hair products, vitamins, certain skin products, lots of things cheaper via iherb especially during promos.

      • Boggles the mind that even with the 10% import fee and overseas shipping, it's still much cheaper than buying local.

    • Supplements are much cheaper in the US market - often cheaper than the wholesale price in Australia.

  • Quest Hero bars still OOS. :(

  • Is this better than 25% off come for new users

    Welcome

  • +4

iHerb shipping is getting more and more expensive. The same product I bought last time it was $2.39 DHL shipping, now it is $64, no more shipping saver items.

    • Wow 2.39 to 60 something

    • Yeah I noticed the huge jump in DHL shipping too, it's a shame

  • +13

    Things worth buying here:
Nicotinamide (yanks call it niacinamide) for people with skin cancers to reduce recurrences. Way cheaper on iherb.
Melatonin for sleep aid- it's over the counter there but needs a compound chemist to make it here.
Vitamin d in bigger sizes than 1000units.
    Eos lip balms
Now foods is a great, cheap, reliable supplements brand if you're unsure which brand of things to get.

    • +4

I can say Now Foods is great, been using over 1 year everyday for vitamin D 5000iu and melatonin. Straight to sleep and well rested on waking up/ able to wake up

      • What dosage of mel?

        • +2

I use the Natrol 5mg timed release, 1 before bed, is enough for me 78kg Male.

          • +1

@nismo: Same. Melatonin has been fanatastic for me. Always have trouble getting to sleep but i take one and within the hour i always doze off. I supplement it with a little 5htp also.

            • @Xizor: Any downsides to melatonin

I normally just watch special movies to fall asleep but then I have weird dreams and sometimes wake up too late

              • +3

@AussieMark: Some people build a bit of a resistance to it over time and need to up your doses but unless going crazy its very safe from everything i have read and widely available overseas. I started at 3mg but half the time i use 5mg now (im 85kg). Been using it for many years, mostly on week nights. Some people prefer different brands, or time release vs normal. Its not uncommon for it to take a week or so to get used to it, especially some people feel a little bit groggy in the morning initially. I love it, so glad to have found it. You may want to look into 5htp as well. It does not help you get to sleep but helps you get better quality rest from the sleep you get (and can promote some vivid dreaming). Like anything, do your own reading, dont take my word im no doctor. :)

I bought a gram of melatonin powder a while ago when Powder City was still a thing, used 0.5-1mg using a milligram scoop and have noticed no difference in how fast I fall asleep (usually within 30mins). Still have it after all these years and still works even passed its expiry date.

The trick is to administer the powder (or if you have the compounded powder, crush it) in the buccal space, the area where your lower gums and your cheek meet. Less likely to get swept away by saliva, still has enough moisture and vascularity to absorb melatonin in your body. Why else is dipping tobacco still a thing?

TL:DR - 1mg or less is fine for anyone, any more and you're wasting your money IMO.

        • Hey, sorry wasn't logged in until now… I use 2 of the 3mg capsules each night. 3 works well too but it was overkill

    • -3

To be honest, I’d rather pay a little more and get the reliable and reputable Australian/New Zealand brands of supplements, especially when they go on half price or better sales at Chemist W/H for example.

    • +2

Thanks for the heads up about niacinamide. Very relevant for me.

    • I tried buying melatonin, they had many varieties but they said it was not available in my region. I'm shipping to Australia lol

      • Weird, never happened to me but only bought it a few times. Maybe a new thing? Bummer.

  • +5

The excluded brands list is huge. Far from sitewide.
    "BioSil by Natural Factors,Bluebonnet Nutrition,Carlson Labs,DaVinci Laboratories of Vermont,Dr. Mercola,Earth Mama,Fungi Perfecti,Great Lakes Gelatin Co.,Heather's Tummy Care,Little DaVinci,Metabolic Maintenance,Motherlove,NeuroScience,Nordic Naturals,Pixi Beauty,Solgar,Terry Naturally,Thayers,Thorne Research and Zhou Nutrition."

I am also surprised that a number of workout supps that I purchased just 2 months have gone up like 25%. Seems like iHerb took a page out of Ebay's book with some good old price fixing before a big sale.

    • +2

Our household has been buying off iherb for somewhere around 5 to 10 years and almost never bought any of those brands. Male and female products.

Thorne Research may be the only one.

Tldr, ignore the list and I'm sure there's plenty of brands with products you want that are included.

      • I too have used iHerb for a number of years. But since last year, the quality of their sales has seen a marked decline. My last two vitamin/supplement purchases werent from iHerb because I found better deals elsewhere. Disappointing given how good the site used to be.

        • Where can we get better deals?

          • @gto21: Most recently I found some of the things I was looking for cheaper on Amazon. Misc vitamins and fish oil etc is generally cheaper from MyProtein. A few months back I found some better deals on eBay when stacked with a discount code.

Surprising overall, as I would always compared iHerb with these sites and they were always consistently cheaper. But not any more.

    • If you think they changed their prices for the deal, compare with vitacost (they also ship to Aus)

  • +2

Neosporin is also a must from here

    • Oh and also 5-hpt if thats your thing

What have you guys bought from here that gave you good outcomes. Please share.

Recommend any nootropics available through iherb that are not readily available in Aus?

    • Magnesium Glycinate. Happy dreams.

  • PB2 , Walden Farms , high strength D3 and melatonin are my go to products.

  • Korean skincare! Neogen, Mizon, Cosrx

  • How many vitamins can I buy?? limitation for quantity?

    • Never had any (except on targeted deals).

      • +1

        Thanks!

        • Actually, I found the limitation to be AusPost on the maximum value they're willing to carry and some sorts of products.

          • @wisdomtooth: That's good to know. I normally order only 2 - 4 vitamins but this time big saving so want to buy more and keep them.

            • @BreadTwo: I generally buy enough till expiration (typically 6-12 months worth).

              • @wisdomtooth: Is there no customs issue? if you order many vitamins at once?

                • +1

@BreadTwo: Never had any. It never felt like an importation. I usually get the order in just a few days, just as if I were buying anything locally (often faster, actually). I'd imagine much of the stock onshore already.

  • I got slapped with a large shipping bill. I've stopped ordering from the USA

    • +1

There's free delivery if you spend over A$51.28 or US$40

  • Anyone else having issues ordering melatonin?

I’m trying to re-order the now foods 3mg melatonin veg caps.

It’s saying “ This product is unavailable in your region.
We apologize for the inconvenience, check out some other products you might like below.”

    • Just did the same. Great that it's super easy to cancel the order from your account.

  • They never let me ship with AusPost but DHL usually costs me $2-7. Today, $36. (profanity) you, iHerb.
