It goes through a site "associated" with AMEX for this offer. I would double check if the room rates quoted have not been jacked up (even just on the same booking site, not to mention against other competitors). Having said that, I am still hopeful that there are still chances of saving.

  I don't believe the prices would be manipulated. But use 15% off Selected Hotels ($150 Discount Cap) @ Wotif instead of this Amex offer.
  
  Would have been better if it had been an Amex statement credit that could stack with the 15% off.
