For how long? Just the 1 month ???

    • not sure as I didnt see this till I signed up

      • If you are not sure, then why do you not say so in the description?

        • +1

          sure, will edit

    • From my chat with Tangerine yesterday:

[17:48:44] Visitor: : I have a question about your 10% off nbn Plans @ Tangerine.
[17:49:06] Visitor: : This is using the code SAFEOPT10.
[17:49:20] Visitor: : Is this for the first month or for the first 6 months?
[17:50:16] Donnita: : That is applicable for the first month only.
      [17:50:52] Visitor: : Thanks.

So, this promotion is only for the first month.

don't go with them, congested CVCs they don't own their own CVC, totally depending on M2, and M2 is not going to upgrade CVCs because their wholesale customer complained, that's what the retention rep told me.

    • Is this a problem everywhere or just in densely populated areas?

      • +1

I had problem at Parramatta and another friend at Hurstville

if they have problem managing dense area with a lot of users, then it's even less likely they will upgrade rural when it hits the bottleneck.

      • Depends on the area.

The retention rep did a great job .
Anybody want to employ him/her ?

      • yea he was totally like "hey you're not locked into a contact, just go"

  • +2

Tangerine is terrible. I need to switch asap. Any recommendations?

    • +3

      superloop, aussiebroadband..

      • +1

        yea I moved to aussiebroadband

they are the only telco where you can view the CVC on their website

and you get a app to reset your connection and do troubleshooting.

plus onshore support line with people understand what a CVC is

        • +2

Superloop is another ISP that shows CVC.

          • +1

@Twix: oh didnt know that, that's great, might move to them to get some discount. Thanks!

            • +2

@optusprime: Also Launtel CVC. The other ISPs won't post their graphs publicly.

                They are too embarrassed to…

@Twix: I just was about to say that…

            It's is updated daily…

            @Twix:

Superloop is another ISP that shows CVC(superloop.com).

Albeit with poorer resolution and less useful units.

          • @Twix: How do you check which CVC/CSA you're in? AussiBroadband shows which CVC/CSA you're in with your address

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Your POI doesn't change if you churn ISP. Check any address on here

    I'm with tangerine.

Daily drop outs at random times make it annoying, but I think they are one of the cheapest NBN providers out there.

You get what you pay for.

  • just joined 2 days ago, I'm in Brisbane with 50/20 plan, speed seems fine, no drop out so far

  • I m still under 14 days trial, should I port out and port back in

    • You can simply ask their support team to add this code to your bill. They will still do it. Worked for me.

      • +1

contacted Tangerine, it's one time discount, so for first month only, also discount only eligible for customer who gets an email

        • Best just doing a referral code instead.

  • Will this code stack with referral? Has anyone here tried it?

    • Not sure but you could try that or just do shopback or cash rewards

      • It won't stack.

        • -1

Yeah they don't stack any kinds of ferals!

Wouldn't recommend, bad experience with Tangerine throttling streaming services like Netflix and internet overall.

  • +2

I’m moving to spintel from tangerine

  • +2

Have been with them for over a month now. Won't say they are the best. But for the price really good. Netflix streams fine, android box streams work good. Maybe 1-2 dropouts in a fortnight… But hardly noticeable… Overall satisfied

  • Tangerine is one of the cheapest out there but as others have said, you get what you pay for. I'm pretty happy with them but there are defs slowdowns at peak periods.

I was previously with Superloop but had shocking random dropouts almost all day. Also the DNS setting they require for your modem resulted in a lot of my smart products not working anymore.

Aussie BB one of the best but expensive. Also if ya Perth then also look at Pentanet.

  • +1

Dont know what the fuss is about. I switched, got connected, took 10 mins to configure the modem. and getting speeds of 21 download and 3 upload (all for 45$ a month)

    • +1

Agreed. I've been with them for over a year. No complaints from me.
