Taste is crap. Prefer to go any thai restaurant to order real massaman beef

Yeah but you can probably get full on $6 worth of these.

In a thai restaurant you would be lucky if you can get a single dish for $10.

My local does massaman beef for $15 and that is already cheap for me.

Also you can probably keep these for over a year and it will still be edible.

For someone like me who loves staying up late at night long lasting food is a god send because the thai restaurants in my area all close for delivery around 9:30pm and close completely usually by 10pm.

Maybe a few will still be open at 10:30pm but definitely not their kitchen.

Yeah this is something you keep for midnight snack or last resort.

      • but if it tastes bad is it worth getting full on

        • no of course not.. try with one first then see how you go

always do a try before you buy unless you feel like gambling.. i do not condone gambling it is a very risky situation only for those who don't mind to

          • @AlienC: have u tried this one?

            • @capslock janitor: nope I went full in and got 6 i think basically half of the max limit you can buy in an online delivery order.. rip to me

but i generally like beef massaman anyways so i kinda know what I am getting myself into.. and this will come in handy on those cold winter days coming up soon around the corner

              • @AlienC: hahahahaha - so you just stashed all 6 until the apocalypse? try one and let me know will ya lol

                • @capslock janitor: Yeah pretty much.

I have a basically long shelf life stash of goodies I keep for emergency situations etc.

Think of it as last resort mentality.

Consists of mostly non perishable type stuff.

Right now its just chip snacks and packet noodles.

I tried storing baked beans but they spoil inside even if they are in a metal can.

They don't last very long to be honest the inside grew mould.

Microwave Popcorn is one that is a good one.. Flavour is still strong even after a year or more in storage and clean up is simple.

Sadly the really nice and yummy stuff is not really long lasting so yeah this is just mostly for like if you wake up in the middle of the night and nothing is open or delivering or it's too early for anything to be open.

Cereal is good but it's hard to safely keep if you have pests or vermin in the house and you need a fresh supply of milk which you know how much that lasts.. Won't keep for more than a month so you need to constantly be shopping.

Coffee is nice it keeps awhile the taste does fade but you can keep some on hand for nice pick me ups but I like mine with milk so same problem.

Funny enough the only other long lasting food I keep is ice cream in the freezer. Lasts indefinitely. I guess I could do the same with a lot of other frozen foods but not allowed to bring in certain foods it's complicated don't ask.

Yeah the topic of super long lasting foods is an interesting one I am usually thinking about what other foods we can make last almost forever or indefinitely without the need of a freezer or with one and still be edible and taste good.

I tried keeping nuts for awhile but even they really lose their taste and texture but I think if salted they last quite awhile but don't quote me on that one.

    • Agree! Bought these for half price at woolies and it still isn't worth the money. Tastes crap.

      • Damn is it really that bad?

  • i have too many nodoles argh

Same problem here man.. I have got so much mi goreng right now my place is like a mini mart in the basement lol
