I like the idea of charging and display output at once.

It has regular USB 3 ports as well so you can do KB + Mouse + sound through a DAC, pretty good gimmick.

      I'd wait on reviews personally.

  • Any mention of PIP/PBP capability?

    • Pretty confident it has pip, haven't tested it on mine (non USB C) though

  • Any good? Or what other 34" monitors should i keep an eye out for?

    • Gaming? Photo/video production? General?

      • general….. id love to say gaming but don't have the time….
i know anything would be ok for general but mate had a kogan tv that is just plain crap.

    • The Xiaomi 34" seems to set the bar and you can pick it up for $450 on a good day, no fancy ports or features though

    • Better than the Xiaomi, but if you don't need USB C then the equivalent model is usually cheaper.

      Highly recommend, really loving mine

  • does anyone here have a 1000R ultrawide screen?

I've using a flat 27" and a 34" UW that has a curvature of 1800R. I'm thinking of switching to two 34" screens.

    Is 1000R too curved?

    • There is a review from hardware unboxing with a samsung G5 (same this one). They said it is ok to use.

      • thanks, i'll check it out

    • Got the prior 1500r and now this 1000r. Could barely tell it was more curved then the first one, it's certainly not going to be an issue for you.

  • hmm really undecided between this or a gigabyte G34WQC
it's <$100 more for lower power consumption, better brightness, similar but different colour saturation, and I could have it this week….

The USB-C is the best thing about this ; plug in laptop (if supported by your laptop) and you can charge your laptop and display over one cable.

You can also connect your keyboard/mouse to monitor going by above so the monitor acts as a docking station.

I would sacrifice some features like brightness for this usb-c convenience

  • Wouldnt this be the better unit for slightly more cost?

    Or am i missing something?

    • Not curved.

      • Is a slight curve really that much difference compared to a IPS panel?

        • -1

I had both. Yes, indeed. 34 without curve is boring
