Great value for those out there who don't want to sign up for Kogan or Catch prepaid deals.

Can I use internet tethering with iiNet mobile?

Yes, iiNet mobile supports tethering. Tethering will use mobile data from your iiNet mobile plan. Any mobile data usage not included in your plan is charged as an excess which comes out of your Prepaid Balance.

    In order to use tethering:

    Your handset must support tethering
Mobile data must be enabled - refer to your handset’s manual or the manufacturer’s website for support information on how to enable tethering on your phone.

    • Internode are running the same offer but there’s no excess data unless you order it - when you allowance’s exhausted your feed stops.

It's great value but terrible Vodafone service. They throttle downloads. I had the same issue with Kogan. Switched a while ago to Catch. Much better reception and speed.
I'm currently trialling iinet Wireless home internet. Uses the same network as their mobile services. It's on Vodafone. Signal fluctuates every couple minutes between 25% and 50% and sometimes 0, but mainly on 25%. That's in Parramatta CBD with no buildings either side. Had it for a week now and have had 4 drop outs and 5 slow downs. Support can't find any issues other than the 2 Vodafone outages.

    • Where’s your nearest tower?

I’ve always found Voda to be very good so long as there’s some proximity

Approx 100 meters away. If I stand on the street with line of site, it's great but not indoors.

        • What kind of phone?

          • @0jay: Samsung Galaxy S20+. Had the same issue with my iPhone 8 and S8.

Connection not always go through the nearest tower, even with Telstra. Get a software like "Network Cell Info" and you will discover.

  • Im assuming no international calls included?

  • tried it for like a month, didn't last two months. went back to Telstra network.
it's cheap for a reson, not worth the hassle
