Any Experiences with Beard Transplants?

I have a few large spots of alopecia on my face, might of been due to various issues with my skin as a teenager. Most of my facial hair is pretty thin anyway so I'm considering a transplant to even it out.

Seems like an uncommon procedure but does anyone have experience with this, either on the face or head? Research says that it's a pretty fast procedure with minimal recovery. Aside from the cost it seems very feasible

      Fixed

    • I would expect that to work, but I heard the catch is that you would become reliant on it to grow hair

  • I also struggle with hair growth on my face in certain areas.

I had to take Roaccutane when I was younger for my acne. After which, always struggled to grow hair on those areas since.

I probably wouldn't go as far as a transplant, but have you tried alternative methods?

Your face looks pretty clean on your avatar :D… are people going for a wolverine look? Wasn’t the peanut butter solution that helped?

        😁
In all seriousness I shave it consistently so I don't look like a patchy fool lol. I have always wanted a decent beard.

    • Hmm, I was the opposite, I didn't grow any until I was off Roaccutane

      • Interesting. Maybe I just blamed that medication for it. Apart from that, it was a wonder drug to the acne. Not mentally though!

Do more slav squats, beard will grow.

Instructions not clear enough. The hair is now growing elsewhere instead.

      • I have a beard and can't squat. Wanna trade?

Why would anyone want to transplant their beard from their face to their head?

When you go over 4k rpm you hit instant manly status and a lovely even heard begins to grow. Give it a crack.

  • Why don't you get electrolysis instead and get rid of your beard permanently? No more shaving! And better to do it while you are young as they can't kill light coloured hairs (ie greys).

    • Definitely this!!

    Take some oestrogen OP

  • You're kind of lucky in my opinion. I hate shaving and have perioral dermatitis which shaving just aggravates. The skin around my mouth is always flaking and burning.

    • I'm sure you know more about your skin than I do, but I can offer that flakey beard and moustache skin is common, and a bit of beard oil (or moisturiser) can help regardless of if you grow the hair.

    • Facial skin problems are usually due to an internal issue. Inflammation, too much bad gut bacteria, food allergies etc. If it's really, really bothering you I would see a naturopath and see if a simple lifestyle/diet change helps before using harsh creams and meds from a dermatologist.

  • How old are you? You may be just a teenager
