Surfshark VPN: 90% Cashback for New Customers @ Cashrewards

600

Its back. Enjoy :)

100% money-back guarantee for your first 30 days of service. See Surfshark's website for full terms.

Cashback is eligible for new Surfshark VPN customers only.

Cashback may be ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards.

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will not include any GST, taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

The amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

  • Any idea when this expires?

    • +3

      16th April

      • Thanks for that, I only thought that was for the 81% off deal, not the cashback period

      • Great timing!

Could this be used for accessing torrent websites?

    • From a review - "Surfshark performed really well when I tested its P2P sharing abilities…"
      https://www.vpnmentor.com/reviews/surfshark/

    • -3

Most private torrent sites will ban you for using VPN/proxy to access the website. For downloading torrents they are okay to have active but for browsing the website you need to use your real identity.

      • +4

Strange torrent sites that I go on require me to have vpn in order to download.

  • +5

Is this 90% off the 81% discount?

Are we supposed to believe that people actually pay $16.97 a month normally for a VPN.

    Is this really a deal?

    • Yeah, what is going on here?

It's 81% off without CashRewards and 81% with their coupon.

    • +1

      Standard marketing "trick".

    • +2

From when they ran this deal last time, it was 90% cashback on what you pay (so 90% off the 81% off price).

  • Regularly on sale…
Miss this time, see next time.

  • I remeber it is 100% cashback otherday

  • Is there any tangible benefit for paying for the premium services these vpns have over the free versions.
Would mostly be using it too watch uk bbc iplayer here in Oz or something similar.
Also anyone tried kapersky vpn over these more well known,or always on 'offer' vpns?

    • +1

Free servers are normally chockablock with traffic and you’ll see terrible speeds. Having a paid account allows you access to less loaded servers.

  • +2

So 90% cashback of their 81% off deal for 24 months. That's $7.92 for 24 months. Is that right?

    • +1

It works out to about that, yes.

      • +1

Mine came to a total cost of -$76.10 +$68.49 = -$7.61 (in AUD)

….so yeah, $8 is a good deal for 3 months, and a certified steal for 24 months!

PS: after payment it gave me an option to add an extra +12 months, for a discounted rate of USD$24.99 (~ AUD$32.88). I wanted to pull the trigger, but I didn't. Wasn't sure if CashRewards was going to glitch out or not, since its very finicky. To be extra safe, I stopped using my laptop and my usual browsers (multiple Ad Blockers), so I had to Re-Enable Chrome Webbrowser on my phone to be safe. Looks like C-R did pick it up though.

  • Has anyone use them before? What's their average/max download and upload speed?

I get around 18/20mbps download and upload with Nordvpn when connected to most of their Aus servers.

The same with their US servers.

I'm thinking to move away from NordVpn if surfshark performs better.

Depends on your connection speed to begin with of course, but my experience has been very good connected to local servers. Also depends on the source of what you are doing (streaming, downloading etc.). I more or less max out my 100mbps connection when downloading from private torrent sites using surfshark. Best $10 (back when they offered 3 year packages) I have ever spent. Nord should be pretty fast though if not faster, what are you using it for?

  • Just signed up. Tracking email came an hour later. Seems good so far! Thanks OP.

  • Does anyone have experience in using Surfshark to watch international TV?
I had a NordVPN account but that has just expired

  • +3

Remember to change the auto-renewal to off. You need to do that via their chat. This reminded me to check my NordVPN and luckily cancelled that before they rebilled me.

  • Yep, did that. Important reminder, thanks

  • Can anyone confirm that this works out to be around $8 for 24 months?

    • +1

The amount charged to my CC minus the CR payment, which is pending, worked out at $16.80.
More than the $8 but works out about 70 cents a month, which is less than my last NordVPN deal cost.
And I can confirm that it works just fine. Easy install on 2 laptops and a smart TV, smooth to use and no hiccups so far.

  • Cheers OP! My Nord VPN just expired and I managed to snag this deal before midnight :D

  • i paid through paypal and it costs me AU$88

    Surfshark Product - 24 Months - 2.49
    $65.74 USD

    Cashrewards only payback $67.08 (AU)
so i paid around AU $21 for 2yrs plan

    hmm…..must be the paypal charge
