  • I've been meaning to work on my posture, $9.40 and those reviews can't really go wrong. May as well give it a go!

    Thanks OP.

    • 2nd that

      • +5

Why? These are known for causing more harm than good. Posts on these usually rack up the neg votes real fast on ozb

    • It's about $4 on aliexpress

      • +2

People love comparisons to AliExpress. But don't value the faster shipping time at all! $4-5 bucks to get it in a couple of days vs weeks. Personal choice for sure, but for a few extra bucks I know which I'd get!

        • +3

People think that it was on some stage $32.99 while it was same $4 on aliexpress for years and no one wanted it.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Yep, $32.99 v $4 is a bigger difference to ponder which way to go, but good thing the deal here was $9.40 v $4!

        • Since COVID my stuff from China has been taking 4-6 months if it comes at all. I've stopped ordering anything from there now.

I'd personally go for the app based ones that simply nudge you when they detect bad posture. I'm not a doctor (obviously) but as outlined in that article bracing would remove the body's need to actually WORK the muscles

      • Thanks for sharing but that price is insane!

  • Yeah I've always wanted to try one of these. For ten bucks it seems worth a try.

    Thanks.

    Deadlifts are good for posture

    • +2

Yeah, seems to me that this device will eventually worsen posture. By taking the load off the muscles that are actually supposed to be doing this work - leading to further atrophy.

  • "Good Posture is Healthy and Sexy for Both Men and Women". Sealed it for me, ordered 2!

  • Where do those straps from the last picture go? They're not visible on any of the other images. Weird.

    • If you mean the bottom left of the four images, that's them in the bottom right. There's velcro on ends. So you pull them up under your underarms from behind you, and they stick on the front. That's how you tighten it. Harder you pull, tighter it is

  • Seems out of stock now , so quick :(

    • +1

I couldn't add to cart a minute ago but can now.

      • +1

I had issues, it was saying in stock, but on the website I couldn't add it to cart/buy now. Switched to the app and it was fine, but maybe it was just after they fixed the stock issues it worked.

    • +1

Yeah it seems to be cycling through various merchants. Mine was initially declined but I tried again and it purchased through "LittleSpuds online saver" and now it's showing it's some seller called "shuangjiashiye". Still says it's shipped from Amazon.

  • I bought the same one without a brand name for around $7 from eBay last time. (AU stock)
Check eBay you can find it a bit cheaper.

    • Thank you.. missed out on amazon deal, so happy to wait and get it off aliexpress. Good reviews.

Can I use this as a GoPro mount?

  • Looks like already out of stock, damn.

  • out of stock

  • Missed out. Was going to get one for one of my pre-teen kids to try.

  • I think these are great. A tip for those trying it. Stick to the 15-20mins suggested use per day. I often forget I had it on and ended up having it on for hours whilst doing some paperwork. End result? very sore upper back/ shoulder blade area. I guess I'm forcing my body to change my poor posture over many years in a short period of time, which is why I experienced the pain. I've not used it again since my last stint as the pain remained for weeks, for now, our 9month old keeps me busy :)

    Good luck!

This will not correct/improve your posture. Your muscles will get used to the braces and get even weaker, and your posture will be worse in the long term.

    • +5

It depends. If you wear these all day, then sure. But wearing them for a few minutes each day helps the body realize and get used to the feeling of correct posture. From there, you ideally start to remind yourself even when you're not wearing it. Posture is a habit.

    • Please heed this, the same way some of us forget to stay up straight, some will also forget to take it off after 30 mins.

Do yourself the favour to exercise for 10 mins every morning and your body will thank you.

For those who did get one:

How to continue to wear your back corrector, to get the natural posture?

Simply, start by wearing it for 20-30 minutes, begin to progressively extend the amount of time spent wearing it by 5-10 minutes and increase to 1 hour a day. By this, it would make your posture perfect and would then only have to be worn occasionally.

Apparently this bit is important, so your muscles don't get lazy and there was a review saying they wore it for 3 hours and it caused pain, but when they reduced to half to one hour it was fine.

  • +1

I got a cheap one too. Used it for a bit and it works ok as a reminder to sit/stand up straight. But if you have pre-existing muscle weaknesses because you're sitting all day and not exercising, wearing one of these and forcing a better posture gets really tiring. YMMV but I don't think these really replace back and core exercises.

  • $12 at Kmart every day.

    • Any idea which section they are in?

      • +1

Fitness section from memory, near the yoga stuff.

  • +1

You could just stand flat against a wall then step forwards and hold the posture. Easy daily exercise to do while brushing teeth

  • Ordered one a few weeks ago at normal price.
They buy reviews by giving you $15 Amazon gift card when you leave a review.

  • +1

I have some snake oil for cheap if anyone wants to buy it.

Cures all sorts of ailments, including gullibility, stupidity and naivety. Not sure about bad posture though, I'll have to consult my witch doctor to find out.
