Great deal, bulbs are usually around $30ea and dimmer is $25+
And Hue Bridge is about $50 each.
Can you sell the hub on gumtree or is there an over supply?
You could “try” it. But who would buy a second bridge or a first bridge if they didn’t know about Hue already.
There are reasons to get a second bridge,
ie to separate the Zigbee mesh onto a second channel and make your lights more responsive once you have more than 20-30 bulbs… but you’d have spent $2k to $5k in lights to get to that stage.
And if you do split a larger house that way, the Hue app is hopeless to manage that kind of dual bridge setup, you will need a control system or 3rd party hue app to sync bridges together with schedules, tasks and so on
Yes, there is still good demand.

I'd wait for a better deal.
Yeah RRP is quite high on hue items generally but can be better than 99.
I still have the 50 bucks deal (2 bulbs only kit) from target.
They are great bulbs, just very pricy.If you are gonna buy then use it to buy using price beat from ebay or OW and use any gift cards to get better deal
The Ambiance light bulbs are usually about $50 each (adjustable colour temperatue - the $30 bulbs are fixed warm white)
Only thing to note is these are the older version of the lightbulbs which don't have Bluetooth connectivity, but if you have the hub, I'm not sure why you'd worry about Bluetooth anyway. Bluetooth connectivity just seems like a ploy to get people to buy Hue without the need for a hub, then they find they need a hub because it's a pain to use your phone all the time and you get more functionality with the hub.
Also worth noting, this kit contains the original HUE dimmer switch. A new model was released this year that offers a few enhancements: https://hueblog.com/2021/01/29/the-new-philips-hue-dimmer-sw…
Personally, I don't have a problem with the original. I have several of them and have never had a problem with them.
Sorry but it has been this price for the past 2 months since they matched Amazon.
I think the situation with this item is that Amazon is matching bunnings and bunnings is matching it back leads to it locked to a very low price compare to other hue products.Couldn’t find this on Amazon! Maybe they are OOS now.
No screw on bulbs?
Buy b22 to e27 converter from Amazon or eBay. Cost around $10
My local has Aphelion downlights and Hue dimmer switch with bulb both for $19, it maybe other stores as well so worth checking.
Where is your local store? I need Aphelion for a decent price. Would you buy and ship?
They didnt have a lot of stock, i bought one the other day as a spare. I will be in there tomorrow so i will check what's left.
Thanks. I would take 6 if they are $20 each or so. Please let me know should you happen to check. Kindly PM me. Thanks!
@MerlinKlendatu: I will see what i can do for you, 6 might be optimistic though.
@LowRange: Any luck?
@MerlinKlendatu: Unfortunately their stock had been cleared out of the Aphelions, they only had a couple of the dimmers with bulb for $19. I got the Aphelion item number of the tag if you wanted to check other stores for stock its 0029157
The other discounted Hue stuff in stock is colour GU10 Hue globes for $39, colour candle bulbs for $29.
@LowRange: Thanks so much still!!
Really appreciate it.@MerlinKlendatu: No probs mate, i was going to grab you 6 if they had them.
Wow for a fairly new product thats a big price drop. Shame they're so dim (600lm) otherwise I'd try to kit my house in them
The Aphelion downlights have been around since at least 2018, i done my kitchen and hall with them almost 2 years ago. They have worked perfectly and look good, but they have a 125mm mounting hole which isnt common so they have phased them out for their 90mm lights.
Oh I was thinking the 90mm ones (Garnea) my mistake
How much is it normally ?
