  • About $112 AUD atm is a pretty good price. I preordered it the other day.

    • +1

Let's just hope the AUD$ doesn't drop between now and shipment.

      • +1

I didn't think it would matter if you've already been invoiced the amount in AUD.

        • I forgot about that. I always pay in UKP as I get a slightly better exchange rate.

But if you choose AUD$ as the payment currency then that will lock in the exchange rate to the time of order.

        • As far as I can tell, if your order includes a pre-order (at least a pre-order that is so far into the future), there is no option to pay in AUD at the end.

        • As far as I can tell, if your order includes a pre-order (at least a pre-order that is so far into the future), there is no option to pay in AUD at the end.

You're right. Like I said, I don't use it personally.

        • True, but also, if the actual price drops between now and shipping, you pay the lowest anyway. So that's a bonus.

        • Plus no VAT.

  • My issue with these sets is that there's always a new one coming out. That being said it looks awesome and a brilliant price. The only question is, how do I justify it to the missus.

    • I'm going to worry about that in October…

    • Yes there will be a 23rd Bond movie this year, but this box set is the 50th anniversary of James Bond and is branded as such.

  • +4

    Wtf… A pre-release that is 10 months away? lol..

    • +1

Don't forget if Amazon's price drops any time between now and shipping, Amazon will charge the lower price.

      • I know chris.. but still!!! couple of months I could handle.. but, 10 months..?

        • Well I ordered.

I can always cancel later and they don't charge your card until shipment. Plus in 10 months the free shipping offer might be over.

      • What about if the price goes up with the variable exchange rate?

        • Might go down too. :) If you're concerned then one way to get around this is to buy an Amazon gift card and buy using that. Then your exchange rate is locked at the rate you bought the gift card.

        • [mod: removed language] ran out of excuses not to buy it! Just ordered, hopefully I will remember in October that I have pre-ordered! :)

        • +3

Why does french connection UK get removed for bad language???

      • does that only apply to preorders

        • I had an order for a few titles, including a pre-order, that took a couple of weeks so ship. One of the non-pre-order titles dropped in price before shipment.

I emailed support and they refunded the difference.

So in short, it isn't automatic, but they will do it if you email.

  • I wonder how much J.B. will try to flog this for ^^
Maybe I'll grab this and finally get around to watching the old ones.

    • With the exception of 1 or 2 they're all great movies. Also Roger Moore was easily the best bond. FLAME ON

      • :-O take that back! He wasn't bad, but I've always particularly liked Timothy Dalton, but my favourite is Pierce Brosnan. Probably because Goldeneye was the first Bond I ever saw.

  • hmmmm this collection is tempting

  • You can also cancel the order at any time. Also free shipping ends at the moment on the 15.1.12, but if the past is anything to go by it will be extended again.

  • Wow, super tempting (Christmas pressent for the hubby for 2012, as he has the DVD 20 disc set, but wants them on blu)…. hmmmmmmmm, just wish it wasn't 10months wait…

Can you pre-order it, and cancel (if need be) before October/shipment date? Have never pre-ordered before.

    • Can you pre-order it, and cancel (if need be) before October/shipment date? Have never pre-ordered before.

      Yes.

  • Pre-ordered, should I decide to cancel its no problem. Also grazed in with the free shipping since it ends in a few days.

Huh? There's only 20 Bond films. There were two pieces of junk with Daniel Craig in them, but they don't count.

    • +5

If you're talking about Quantum of Solace, I agree with you.

But Casino Royale (2006) was awesome!

  • This deal is so tempting, do you guys know if it's the "single disc" blu-ray edition or would they have the double disc collectors edition for each movie like they had in the dvd set?

    • The specs say 22 discs so I guess most or all are single disc versions.

      • Oh wait I just realised…that Blurays obviously hold more than DVDs, so perhaps all the bonus features and the feature movie are all in the one disc…

They say in the description there's 120hours of bonus material, so that should hold true..

        • But 1080p also needs more space than DVD 480p/560?p. Depends on whether they are using the 50GB blurays or the 25GB ones. CBF researching that

  • Screw it - purchased! :)

  • +1

Hmmm, nice price. I wonder if I can flog the DVD set off on eBay to cover the cost?

    • Thats what i was thinking of doing!

  • Thankyou! Just ordered. Now to wait 10 months… :(

    • +7

      Never Say Never Again

      • thanks Justin Bieber

    • +2

Unless you want me to beat The Living Daylights out of you :P

  • -4

Why bother. Just buy the few good James Bond movies and trash the rest
ie buy a selection the connery ones (GF, FRWL). Junk all Roger Moore, add in Pierce Brosnan for good measure

  • +1

I loved the names of the women in Bond films. Some of my favourites are Pussy Galore (Goldfinger), Holly Goodhead (Moonraker) and Chu Mei (The Man With The Golden Gun).

  • Who has the patience to wait 10 months for this. Good price though.

  • I already have the special edition that came in an attache case (with 20 movies in it - released in 2006 I think), as well as another mini set with 5 of the movies in it (all duplicates - I bought them prior to receiving the 20 set), and yet for some reason I'm still deeply considering ordering this Bluray set. This seems like outrageous value for Blurays??

    • Its awesome value, considering I saw at JB yesterday the DVD collection for $238…

  • Finally Goldeneye on blu-ray!!!

What are the chances of it being available individually?

  • EZY DVD just sent me an email for this set as a preorder special for only . . . $209.97 (hahahahahahah)

    • Imagine how many people out there who, on a chance, bought say 10 of these, and when they receive it they 'hope' to be able to sell it on ebay for $200 (i.e. double they paid). Seems tempting, but its a gamble, but i can't see the intro, or 'normal' price of this set to be much under $200.

      • I think you're right. Harry Potter was $43 pre-order, now it's $80ish.

I think i'll buy 2 though, not 10. One for me and one to make my money back? :)

  • Is it just me, or have they taken down the 'purchase' of this item now (so pre-order is now gone) - just has "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available."

    • Yeah they've taken it down…lol let me guess you wanted to buy more to sell hey? :P

      • lol, no… i was just 'keeping my options open'…. hehe
