These things barely kill mosquitos, but kill huge amounts of harmless moths and flying insects that don't bite.

However, a bug zapper might not be the best answer to your mosquito problem.
Timothy Frick and Douglas Tallamy from the University of Delaware checked through 14,000 insects killed in six zappers in different spots around Newark, Delaware, and found that only 31 were biting gnats or mosquitoes — that's less than one-quarter of one percent.

yeah mozzies seek out CO2 & sweat,.not light.

These things kill moths, beetles, etc which are attracted to light.

Here's a simple DIY Mozzie trap.from Albany Council in WA. The commercial products are just pretty variations.

Nice I might give this a try.

A common one I've seen is just a fan with fine mesh over the intake. Air current pulls in mossie, gets caught in mesh, and people spray them with vinegar or isopropyl to kill them.
