    This was a weird game.. (from someone not familiar with far cry franchise)… The gamplay and mechanics was top notch but the story was weird haha..

      It is the somewhat a continued story from Far Cry 5, so playing that first is ideal.

          The stories on the FC series is what keeps me coming back. Crazed main characters are what they do well, and the cultists of Farcry 5 were great.
          The same formula of take outposts, gain more territory until you can take out sub-bosses does get a little old though, and nothing changes with mechanics.

      Im sure the only things it will keep are:

      A story where you are rebelling against a local power
      Outposts you can capture
      Towers you climb to unlock vision of an area
      Upgrades based on collecting animal parts across the map
      Loads of collectibles to extend your playtime without really rewarding anything of value

      Apart from that it will be totally different.

        They dropped the towers thing with 5 and New Dawn. They were pretty self-effacing about it as well.
        Also the animal parts were dropped (briefly) for 5. But then basically back for ND.
        Otherwise you're likely spot on…

      Me too!!! It's just too lazy to repeat a good idea over and over… If this one is just another reskin I'm done with the franchise.
      Already given up on assassins creed after they did that just too many times.

    This is a good game.

    I got it for a low price which always helps make average games more enjoyable.

    There's nothing ground breaking about this game at all, and movement isn't as fluid as say Apex Legends, graphics are very much the same as Far Cry 5, but outside of that it's a solid FPS.

    You basically go to camps and have to take out a dozen to two dozen goons. There are alarms so reinforcements can come if you mess up. It's all very predictable but I found it entertaining.

      its fun - i think its better if you've played far cry 5 as it continues on from that story but you could play it standalone without a problem. for 5 bucks its well worth it.

      Most likely never, sadly. A lot of devs (especially third party devs) won't bother with PS5 updates since it costs them time and money to do such a patch. You'll have to buy their newest game to get the next gen goodness.

        I would be happy for this to be a paid upgrade, say $5, to support the development. I get it, their focus is on newer games.

        e.g. COD Cold War charges you an extra $10 to have the XSX version (Cross Gen bundle)

            @deadpoet: All this talk about FC5 had me putting in a couple of hours yesterday to try to finish it off :) Took me 2-3 mins to get used to the 'slow 30fps' (or less) of my PS4 Pro but then it was OK. Wish it had a 'performance mode' so could run it in 1080p 60fps

            Damn it's a great game. 60fps 4K in that funny and beautiful open world would be incredible and be a real next gen upgrade.

            Guess I'll put the money towards FC6.

            Doing a paid FPS boost on older games would be a great way for development studios to wring a bit more $ out of an old product - easier or at least comparable to produce than a DLC pack you'd think. I think the perception that it should be done for free is holding this back.

            Makes me think if they are watching the sales of the boosted FC4 to see if it's worth doing

    Far Cry 3 was one of the most awesome gaming experiences. 4 was decent, but just more of the same.

    I got bored with 5 just a few hours in and stopped playing. Think I will give this a miss even though it's super cheap.

      Their all the same ,3 is your favorite most likely because it was your first, then 4 and 5 were much of the same.

      If far cry 4 was your first, then you would be saying the rest about the others.
