                                      @BinnyC: I dont know ppl have got chat and Asurian email screenshots shared here, what else one would need if these are coming from both Samsung and their partner.

                                      A random person makes an account to tell us something but never uploads or comments again. He has been keeping an eye on Ozbargain for many years but now goes quiet when so many have requested to share a screenshot.

                                      Ppl are not sure to the point they are not trusting the scripts or email replies they have got.

                                      But yes if the person who claims he got charged is correct then Samsung and Asurian are both falsely advertising and misleading everyone in chats and emails just to charge them $500.
                                      I would rather suggest that person to put a claim of $500 back from them based on our screenshots.

                @U30004: Yeah, like i mention in my other comment, if he didnt return the phone, and his phone arrived on the 19th, the time doesnt add up, as asurion gives you 14 days (7 days, then another 7 day notice on the 7th day) to return the device. He should be charged earliest on the 2nd of April. So most likely bluffing. At this point, anyone who didnt return their phones and said they did/didnt get charged would be bluffing. Unless they returned an unqualified device (which none have claimed yet).

                    • @khaez: If Samsung decides to charge the 500 anyway, but you want to keep the phone, the way to keep the $500 is to check with them whether it is okay to replace the trade in with another phone. A new A21 can be bought for 250 from woolies, that way you are paying only $250 + your credit difference.

                      Even better if you can get a cheap second hand.

                      • @danz84: Yeah, hope not. I sent in a pretty good condition oppo reno z, got $90 for it. wouldnt have gotten much for it anywhere else anyway. If they decide to be scumbags and charge me the $500 anyway, ill take my losses, learn my lesson and not deal with them in the future.

                  • @danz84: Its qualified. Pristine condition. No scratches, dents, nada. So if they charge me $500, i wonder what will happen to other people. Cause the device I sent back was almost perfect. Took really good care of it over the past 2 years.

      • Imo nothing is certain, Samsung could say Apologies this is incorrect response. We will do further training to ensure this wont happen again bla bla bla… but the trade in bonus will only apply if you send eligible phone for trade in.. as a valuable client, we will give you $50 credit..

        Normally in the T&C, they will have some clause to protect them against price error or something similar. I have not seen any in specific trade in T&C, but it could be in other T&C.

        • Just try go to chat and ask for a new one. You don't need to ask them if it stacks, because mine told me the same thing, but it still stacks.

  • It says in the terms and conditions that you have to be 18 to be able to do the trade up deal. Im 17 so you think there is a possibility they won't allow me to trade in my phone successfully and charge me the $500 + phone. Should I change my date of birth and details to be sure or am I sketching out too much?

  • I just spoke to the live chat as I was trying to do the order trade in, since the $200 voucher didn't work. They issued me another one straight away.

    I asked if they knew when they'll get more S21's back in stock, they said they didn't have that information.

    So trade in and voucher code stacked. And they're still giving it the voucher, even this late at night.

    Looking forward to having that camera. Looks pretty!

  • Interestingly, I went to get a new $200 voucher. The agent gave a whole bunch of disclaimers, including saying that the $200 voucher is not stackable to the trade in promo!

      This is because people keep asking. People shoot themselves in the foot and others by keeping on asking them if they can stack them. All they had to do is use them like many people were, they were essentially letting customer service know there was a loophole.

      • I didn't ask this agent. He took ages to generate the code, and once he did, gave a huge spiel on the disclaimers.

    This is what I did and worked perfectly.

    1) add mobile to your cart and go to checkout
    2) add trade-up id - get value + $500 off
    3) add $50 voucher
    4) add $200 voucher

    All three were stackable.

  • For those that are in dispatched status and haven't received tracking, someone suggesting going onto live chat to ask for it. Did that this morning and they gave the tracking number and then within a couple of minutes then received an sms with the startrak link etc

    Just as i say that, tracking says on board with driver and before i knew it phone showed up! time to setup

    Received Startrack tracking just an hour back.
    Its arrived in Melb from Sydney this morning. So hoping to receive it at some point today.

  • Does anyone know if the timeframe for sending the phone to Asurion is 7 business days from receipt of the new phone? I only ask because my phone is apparently going to arrive today and I don't think I'll be able to transfer everything from old phone to new phone and send it off tomorrow before the Easter long weekend…

    • From the time you received the new phone.

      I think you will only receive the email after you received the new phone.

      Yes it's 7 days from when you receive the new device. But they give you an additional 7 days if they don't receive in the first 7. I sent my device the day after I received the new one and it took more than 7 days t get to Asurion. I got an email saying I hadn't returned the device and I had another 7 days.

      I would just email them if you aren't sure.

      • That is annoying, given the upcoming public holiday. Once the article is scanned, they know it is on its way. For these returns, they are only going to pay for regular parcel charge so they will take time to get to Asurion.

        • Yes I agree, it's annoying. I just received my phone but haven't received the email with the return label/instructions so there's not much I can do until I get that email anyway.

  • Thank you all for the tips/ hacks. I ordered on Monday 29/3 and received the phone this morning 31/3 (Syd). Pretty good.. Now I am concerned that I have not received email instruction from Asurion to send my old phone..

    • customer service said that you will receive email with instructions once your phone has been delivered. 7 day to post your phone starts when new phone is delivered, this is to allow enough time to transfer data across from old to new phone.

  • So my experience. Grabbed a Iphone 6s from CEX for $210. This failed on opening but lucky it had some bleed on the screen so took it back and got a Samsung A30 for $220 that was in really good condition. Luckily the Trade Up accepted it, codes all stacked and got the 256gb Ultra for $915 bucks.

    Almost half price, crazy. Would have been even cheaper if i didnt have to buy a trade in phone.
