Samsung Galaxy S22 5G 128GB $499 Delivered (New Customer Must Add Plan from $30/28-Day), $299 with Code (Expired) @ amaysim

790

Amaysim have a Black Friday deal on the Samsung Galaxy S22 5G 128GB - $499 with an eligible plan. Stack this with your 3G old phone discount code and you only pay $299 for the phone.

Cheapest plan to add is $30 and you can cancel right after. Or pop into your nearest Woolies and pay only $10 for the Amaysim $22 pack which qualifies. Or add to your own plan if you are an existing Amaysim customer. I went the $10 way with a new number that I will cancel.

Phone specs:
RAM:8GB
Storage:128GB
Colour: Black only. Mod Edit 15/11: Back in stock and with 3 colours (Black, Green, Pink Gold)

I count this a reasonable upgrade from my old Sony Xperia XA, which in reality still works fine - can make calls and receive sms. I am not a power user. Better than buying a used phone from marketplace, this is a new phone with warranty. Was released 2 years ago but still better than some current mid range phones about the same price.

What happens if I put my old number into my new phone and my new number into the old phone? Will I get another discount code from Amaysim? From T&Cs, each customer can buy up to 3 devices per month.

For existing customers, call Amaysim 1300 222 500 for the discount code if you have an old phone, even if you used the previous codes, might get lucky. Just be nice and polite. Don’t forget to enter the code before you check out.

Offer ends 2 December 2024 or while stocks last. I would get in quick if you need a phone.

//update Now only available in Pink Gold.

  • If I buya prepaid simcard and activate it with my 3g phone, will I be guarantee receive the $200 code ?

    • +2

Your can't as it is already blocked?

    • From my understanding, this was the case in Sept + Oct but I believe it stopped in the last week of oct.

    • +6

I did this. Bought a $1 Amaysim card from Woolies, signed up to the $10 plan, stuck sim into my Samsung S5 and received the $200 promo code after a few days.

      This was mid last week.

      • did you have to do anything else such as contact amaysim to get this coupon? Sorry abit confused.

        • No, I didn't need to contact them. It got sent via email after a few days.

My theory was each new number/sim inserted into a non-compatible phone would generate a promo code. It did

      • +2

        That was before the shutdown.

        • Where I am in Melbourne the Optus 3g network is still going. So might be worth a $10 shot. Bear in mind it takes about a week for trigger to check device and for amaysim to pick it up as a 3g phone.

      • Bit confused, could you please confirm if correct.

        Buy $1 amaysim sim
Register for $10 plan from woolies
Insert sim into a any phone
        Get the $200 promo codes
Go to op link amaysim. Buy phone for $299?

        Thanks

        • Insert sim into a any 3g phone.

          • @timhn: Thanks

          • +1

@timhn: The phone imei need to be register on amaysim. Can take up to 5 business days. During that time you can't use another phone. The phone has to have issues with the 3g closure. So grabbing any phone won't do. Need to be one with a problem. Which is hit and miss because some issues is software and some issues is hard ware.

            • @pandadude: is this trick still working?

              • @timhn: It wouldn't register my s4/s5 on the network a couple days ago, I believe it no longer works.

                • @mikuno: They bulk blacklisted phones. E.g all possible imei for s4 and s5 have been blocked so it won’t even allow you to say hello to the network.

              • @timhn: This is what l got told to do by the Amaysim customer service over the weekend.

They will not issue vouchers unless your imei appears on the 3g blocked number.

Also during this time if you swap between mobiles they will be able to detect this and you will not be entitled to a vouchers.

Most likely not worth the time if you intend to use your primary number.

      • Doesn't S5 support 4g? Did it work anyway or did you set it to 3g only?

    • +3

Yes, I did it and got four codes (Two SIMS)! This was just last week—try it with a $10 SIM card; it’s worth it! Today (1st Nov), got another bonus code in the email! I have worked out the whole process and am happy to guide you.

      • If you do have any extra codes could you let me know? Much appreciated champ. T and C says same customer can buy 3 with same discount code not too sure though.

  • Cheapest plan to add is $30 and you can cancel right after.

Can you add the $10 one then purchase?

  • This is a great deal, if the $200 off can work. Some complaints of bad battery life with the S22, but I'm pretty sure this was resolved in recent firmware updates

    • +4

I tried online chat but couldn't get the $200 code… Without that code, $500 is a little pricey for me for what is now an almost 3yo phone. I wouldn't be surprised if the S23 makes an appearance on Black Friday for around this amount

      • +1

Mum tried the same, on the chat to get a code instead of waiting until the weekly emails go out - phone dead at the moment…nothing working except over wifi for internet
Apparently its only if you get the email code now or managers override per the chat they have and that can take 48 hours.

She ended the chat without a code

  • Call is not answering, hang-up after few minutes waiting.

  • Have asked for a code on megathread as my s10 is dying a slow and painful death

  • Is anyone else having a problem logging in to purchase?
Am currently 40 mins into a call with them and they can't seem to fix it for me. I can log in to see my account, but as soon as i select to purchase the s22 and login as existing customer it won't let me.

    • +1

Doesn't let me add to an existing plan…which saved me $500! I think I'll now wait for a Samsung or black friday deal

      • Do you think the s23 will drop to $500 mark?

        • +1

I think there's a good chance of this or maybe $750ish for the S24. I am no expert though! Last black friday the S23 256gb could be had for just under $800 from memory, with a trade-in.

          • +1

@PhilToinby: S23 Ultra was under $600 last black friday.

            • @sekhon147: Who was that through?

              • +1
                • @sekhon147: That was olden days, now no more loop holes

                  • -1

@yht: Samsung hasn't moved much stock this year. These kind of deals could be back before the end of the year.

Anyways don't buy Samsung if you have kids or pets. Always produces a blurry picture. Get an iphone or pixel.

                    • +1

@sekhon147: I have s23u and the photo is great.

                      • @yht: Its during low light with moving subjects i.e. kids, pets. Here's further info from Android Authority:

                        https://youtu.be/hQNpVYoj0JA

                        • @sekhon147: Lol Pathetic Scamsung fangirls downvoting me for highlighting a legit issue with sources. I had to move from Scamsung to Pixel cause every indoor picture with movement came out blurry from my S23U.

Very happy with with P9PXL now.

                    • +1

@sekhon147: I was just using an iPad to take a very important video. The picture was blurry for the first 5 seconds and I missed some detail that couldn't be repeated as I was trying to get it to focus. My Samsung has never had this problem.

                      • @KLF23: I think sekhon147 edited their post as I was writing mine. What I clicked reply to was different to this.

    • +1

had that this morning too, tried two different $1 phones, tried existing amaysim number which i have and my other number which is boost, all failed and ended up giving up, did not need another phone, so kind-of saved a few bucks by not spending on something i did not need

  • i haven't been in the loop with samsung phones for years, is $299 a good deal (my daughter can use the code)
she's using a redmi Note 10 Pro - with no issues, but is it worth an upgrade or wait for newer phone? or the other deals I can see people buying like the A35?

    • +2

No brainer for me, being a flagship it's leagues ahead of the A35 and a relatively new phone (released 2022)

    • +2

Well the Redmi Note 10 Pro is surely about to get blacklisted so you're gonna need a new phone one way or another.

    • My Galaxy S10 is STILL a good performing phone, waiting for it to die one day. This phone is 3 years older than the S22.

Camera, battery life, speed / performance… Really don't feel any need to get another phone right now. But if I did it would be another Samsung flagship / S series.

    • +1

The strange thing is Vodafone doesn't block Redmi when they shut down their 3G network. It is still working as of today and no warning messages either. But it get blocked by Telstra and Optus. I assumed it won't be able to dial 000, why Vodafone didn't block it?

  • Planning on holding onto my code until the end of November for any potential new stock as they try to get customers back online. If there's nothing, I'm pretty sure I can just hop on one of the remaining deals. Hoping for either a restock of the Moto G54, or another option besides the S22.

Bought the Optus locker $1 phone as a call/message driver for now, that should get my through the month without service on my main phone.

Seems blackliating mobile that work on 4g but are not 000 complient here in Oz seems wrong to me!

    • 100%…

I just bought it for $750 - $200 voucher 2 days ago. FML

  • +1

Dang this wouldve been perfect for my mum. Bummer OOS.

  • +2

Back in stock for those that want it. 99 in stock at time of posting.

    • Thank you for the DM!!! 🤠

      • If you don't have a $200 voucher, it's cheaper on ebay stores such as https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/315900266687. Even cheaper if you have ebay vouchers.

        • +1

Slightly cheaper I guess but I'd rather buy from a well known brand for slightly more over an eBay purchase, have had bad experiences before with "Aus stock" being grey imports that are 'in Australia'

        • +1

These are not brand new. Comments from buyer: Well maybe abit harsh to put negative feedback because they deliver fast and phones are in very good condition but they are not new. I got 2 phones. Both had been registered for warranty B4 and the s21 ultra didn't have original screen. Screen was not amoled. Too bright at night and washed out. They did offer refund but couldn't be bothered to send back so got 20 pounds discount for non original screen. So if they didn't sell phones as brand new they'd be good. That's the only issue.

They even comes with Charger and Headphones, big giveaway that they are not original set.

  • +1

Very fast shipping, received the phone first thing this morning. Spent most of the day updating to Android 14.

  • Worth upgrading to this from a S21?

    • no

      • what about an S20?

  • Can anyone confirm if this Samsung Galaxy S22 is a Dual SIM (2 Physical Nano-SIMs, dual stand-by)?

    • +1

I believe it's nano and eSIM only but I'd like confirmation too.
Rep at amaysim said it is dual nano. But when I asked where I could see that info for myself they sent me a Google search screenshot highlighting a link description for Amazon Singapore.

      • Would be good if someone has purchased the Amaysim Galaxy S22 can confirm if its Dual Nano Sim Slot.

I prefer to have the Dual Nano Sim as its easier to swap out sims (compared to Nano Sim + eSim).

        • +3

Only 1 physical nano sim slot.

  • thanks. since my xiaomi phone are no longer work and its come with $200 code. lucky found your post and save me a lot money to buy spare phone.

  • A35 or S22?

  • If it has 4 major updates guaranteed, and it currently already has had 2, does that mean it will only last 2 more years tops?

  • +1

    Major OS updates until 2025.
    &
    Monthly security updates until 2026.

  • +1

Back in stock and with 3 colours now (Black, Green, Pink Gold)

  • Nice phone if you get it at $299 discounted promo price.
Pity that the SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is fabbed by Samsung 4nm node. Otherwise a good compact phone with decent specs.

Or just grab a S23 & be done with Samsung SoC Exynos (Google Tensor SoC is also made by Samsung lsi).

    • But the real question is where are the s23 deals?

      • A few weeks ago limited quantities of base Galaxy S23 128gb/256gb was on sale at the thegoodguys eBay store.
Was listed on limited quantity deals eBay here.

Or you can buy from JBHiFi for $887 base S23 128gb
        & for $1499 S23 plus 512gb
        Part of black friday deals

  • I tried trying to get the discount code for the eligible customer but no luck. If anyone does have a code that they are not going to use could you let me know? Much appreciated

  • Is this new or refurbished, the new icon is not there in the website ?

  • Bit the bullet and ordered this, got the 200 discount code too. I don't think its going to get better than 299 honestly. Ordered Thursday evening. Got an email yesterday saying delivery by today.

  • Just got the code from amaysim today even though i have not used a 3g phone in a long time. Straight away ordered S22 even though my 3 year old s21 plus phone is going great. Might just keep it handy as a backup phone till its time to say goodbye to s21 plus

    • -1

I have couple of amaysim purchased recently. All active. How do I get $200 discount code (no 3G phone)

      • wait for the email i suppose

  • Ordered this phone for my son's whose phone is 3G. But he complained about the colour (black is sold out) and that it is only 128GB. Are there any places that trade in a brand new phone for a 256GB same model phone?

    • CEX $341 trade-in (green color) depends on how much you paid you may end up a little on top

      • This does not seem worthwhile. I would need to chip in another few hundred dollars to swap for 256GB. Does CEX sell used phones?

    • In terms of colour, put a case on it

  • Has anyone else bought this phone from this deal and noticed it gets very warm?

    • Standard Samsung phone feature.

  • Is it an international model?

  • I was just informed by Amaysim support that the $200 discount code expired at the end of November.
