    Hi OP,

Aldi has hot cross bums for $2.99, thought they are similar quality.

      that's good different

      hot cross bums

Bums or buns… That is a hard pick.

Coles and Woolies (Most stores) are baked in store, Will beat the frozen garbage from aldi.

      • WW Paddington QLD are frozen, grab a pack on Monday & they where rock hard

      • +1

Dunno about that. I've seen them placed on shelves in Hobart still frozen. Some places might cook their own I suppose but I reckon they use centralised baking centres.

        • Smaller stores will have them frozen.

If Aldi are anything like previous years, revolting. I like Aldi as much as many, but their hot cross buns are disgusting.

    • But that is the one pack price.

    • +1

      Has their "bums" hygienic?

  • +4

FYI same deal at Coles. Coles branded ones obviously.

  • I saw these yesterday; baked on the day, expiring the next day. Not sure if anyone can eat 12 buns in a day…

Freeze and eat them at your own pace

        Just tried it.

        Cannot recommend eating them frozen…

        • +1

I can.. That much sugar they don't freeze all that hard. So stinking hot here..I'll take a frozen HCB, minus the H.

But did these win a Choice award?

      No.

  • My local woolies still 2 for $6

    • +1

That is probably worth a forum thread . The outrage….

      • +2

        I can already imagine…

Is it legal for Woolworths to sell 2 Hot Cross Buns packs for $6? Should I contact ACCC?

  • Better than Coles? Worse?

    • +2

      Coles ones are better.

      • They all dry crap with weak glaze.

        • +2

Coles ones are less crap than the Woollies ones.

  • +2

Get them while they're hot? Mine was still defrosting when I bought them.

    • The industrial freezer, nature’s preservative.

I think i used to like these as a kid, either they're all complete shite now or my taste buds have changed.

    Honestly have no idea.

    • Either do I.

      • Neither do I.

        fixed…

    • Honestly have no idea.

      Thanks for your valued input.

I just go near the close of business, and they have a bunch marked down to $1 at my local coles.
