I love how the USA pricing is $199 upwards and ours is $349 upwards.

THERE IS NO ACTUAL MEDIA - WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY INFLATED PRICING!!!!?!?!?!?
    (Sorry I had to yell)

    Positive for TeamTerry tho!

    • THERE IS NO ACTUAL MEDIA

yeah, but them bits, they need to be transported (via submarine cable) across the ocean. You think that's free?

      • funny… is Microsoft paying for the cable?

      • subscriber pays for Downloads. Not the host.
        BASICS!
Price increase would be due to taxes, fluctuating exchange rate etc..

      • Every time Windows BSODs in Australia, MSs stocks go down by double than what a US BSOD does. I thought everyone knows that.

If you ring up and ask for 30% discount they will do that for you over the phone. I got my 30% discount a month ago

    • Did you call the US

    • No.. AU I believe.

They offered me 30% discount to renew it. I did mention getting it from the US - Amazon - is cheaper (and the staff came up with some excuse that they are looking into stopping that - yeah right - as if they will do that).

The main reason for me to get the AU one is for tax return - work related expense. I think ATO might not like an invoice for an US subscription - possibly with an US address. But I recently found out that the place I work might be willing to provide MSDN subscription - doh.

      • Each year I give my accountant receipts for US based purchases software/hardware etc etc No troubles.

I wonder if my JB HiFI 900$ plasma purchase could be viewed as a computer monitor :) An ATO audit probably wouldn't turn out well. Although I could move the Panasonic TV in to the office and attach the various cables no matter how stupid looking.

        • No GST to claim back for O.S. purchases if that's a consideration.

Do you have a conference table in your office? Would stick a big plasma over one of those, it's a perfectly valid use. $900 isn't that much for such a purpose. Unlikely ATO would come by and check out your house for something like that if your being mostly honest across the board.

  • Just do a search on Whirlpool forum and a whole heap of them have bought the subscription via eBay or Amazon and it works here.

  • After clicking the Buy button the contact details page shows "United States" as the country and not editable. Is the US price available for a credit card address outside USA?

  • I am taking a gamble on Amazon.com, with delivery is $200.61 and should be here in less than 7 days.

It is a new Subscription for Australia and I will try using an Australian e-mail address, I can let people know if it is successful.

Upvoted just for that cracker of a line! :)

    • Thanks…I was going to say "Don't bitch and moan" but decided not to. :P

  • Does anyone have any issues using an existing AUS Live account to get this subscription?

  • Hi Team Terry.

Do you happen to have a code for the standard package as well?
