There is a limit of 10 but you can just do the self serve checkout multiple times.

There is some other good stuff but there in the catalogue. This looks good too.

      But rougher on the skin.

      Beware of paper cuts. Oww!

    • Just scrunch it a couple of times then it'll be softer.

Might be worth noting, it's a limit of 10 PACKS (of 5 books each). Not 10 books in the ambiguous title.

  • Back to school? I thought it had just started not long ago.

damn inflation - these were 5c a year ago!!!

  • I work at bigw and have never heard anything about a 10 per person limit. Then again I don't get people buying more than a few and trying to take advantage of it. It's a good deal but I don't even know what I'd do with these small books.

    • All kinds of people can be Oz-bargainers! Lots of schools purchase their stationery through these kinds of sales rather than through State Supply, which is more expensive and involves fiddling around with orders and invoices.

you could donate them (when packaged along with some other items) to kids who will cherish them:

      • It's good to give to the needy. And the best gift for them is worth 10 cents.

  • I remember buying over a hundred from coles, as a true ozbargainer buying 12 for 10c, 7 for 5c and 17 for 15c :P.

  • Okay they're cheap. Now what uses can you put them to.. suggestions?
I've used one book for my daughters sticker collection.

when I went to school I hated seeing the back to school signs. To make things worse, they used to put them up about 1 week after school had just finished for the year!

    • Now I just laugh. Never need to go to officeworks these days except for 100% cashback deals.

    • What did they call the sales after school had finished for a week?

After school sale? Or did they start calling them back to school sales already? ><

    • Some stores couldn't wait and would start the Back To School sales the day before Christmas. As a kid, I hated seeing that. The holidays had just started and already I was faced with reminders that school was starting again in 'only' 4 weeks time.

    • i hated it as well…but loved all the cool stationery. oh the internal conflict

    • "Back to school sale" signs went up the day after school finished :(

      some things to consider:
      - Electricity Use
      - E-waste

Better alternative is to just write stuff on the inside of your eyelids

  • Just so you know, the limit of 10 is pretty poorly enforced, I saw one guy buy 150 of them the other day.

    • 150! That's unfair for others

      • +3

Hopefully by 150, that means 150 books, not 150 packs. o.o"

        • I really wonder what that guy would do with 150 books. =|

    • Which BigW store is this?

  • The Big W at Garden City in Brisbane had signs up apologising for the lack of back of school items on the weekend. Most of the items in the catalogue were not available, including these exercise books. No ETA was given on the notes.

Has anyone actually seen these in a store? I'm curious if it's a wider shortage or just Garden City for some reason.

  • I couldn't even get these past the checkout yesterday
They said 10 per family. WTH!

Plenty at my local store, but they are tight.

  • Miranda, NSW has heaps

  • Gungahlin ACT had heaps
