Looks like a good discount on this watch model.
Unsure on how many variants there are but they do seem to be priced above this one.

Pretty great watch, got mine a month ago, battery lasts a long forever in comparison to Samsung's offering which I ditched -
I have the Sapphire and I love the way the screen looks indoors and outdoors
The Button layout is something to get used to
But overall, its really nice.
Only watch I'd even begin to consider besides a Garmin woudl be Huawei's Latest.
Coros has goodies as well
Do people actually spend a grand on a smartwatch? Even David Goggins himself wouldn't have spent this much.
WELLLLL…no, I got it for $600ish AUD from Ebay USA , but yeah! I still think it was a decent purchase.
If it's not the Saphire edition, I don't think this deal is that great.
My take is that it's an absolutely insane piece of hardware with very disappointing software / user experience. This is coming from someone who's been using smartwatches for 8 years and have had the original Pebble, Android Wear and Apple Watch at various times. Unless you do a lot of outdoor sports (e.g. marathon's, cross country etc), you'd be better off with something else. I still prefer my using trusty old Apple Watch 3 (not an Apple fan here) when exercising. Sleep tracking is unusable (not sure if it's been fixed with the most recent update but I've been an issue for years).
I love the design of the Fenix 6X and wear it at work or when socialising as I've always hated the "calculator on your wrist" look on the Apple Watch.
I got my Sapphire version from a very popular deal, late last year for $700 using JB cards that I bought using credit card points, so can't complain and believe it to be good value at that price, given that it's probably the best looking watch in its class, indestructible, unscratchable (sapphire glass carbon-coated top) and the battery easily lasts a couple of weeks even with heavy use.
Always nice to be negged for putting in the effort to express an opinion in hopes that it will be of benefit to others :-)
Garmins are great watches if you are into tracking activities, but if you are just after a good smart watch then look elsewhere.
I have the fenix 6pro which is slightly smaller than the 6X and all I’d say is if you wear long sleeve business shirts regularly then I’d consider trying one on under a sleeve first as they are very bulky watches.
Most high-end smart watches (and even some budget trackers) already do a great job at tracking. While Garmin does provide an intimidating amount of stats, I have found some of them to be of very questionable accuracy. The sleep tracking accuracy issues have been very well documented (it thinks I'm sleeping even when I'm taking a leak) and it also tells me to "Move!" while I'm driving 80 km/h. There are many more "idiosyncrasies". I found the original Pebble that cost me $80 to be better in some regards, and we're talking about a $1400 RRP watch (mine is the Sapphire edition) that came out 8 years later.

The garmin 6 series was cheaper a few days ago with Ryda and ebay flash sales @15% discount, but a moderator decided it was spam and removed my post. LoL.
Worked out to be $720 for the 6/6s sapphire with 5% ebay gift cards, 15% flash discount and the $400 discount.
Yep, that was the cheapest I've seen. I got mine (Fenix 6 Pro) from Ryda with the eBay Plus 10% and got it for $678, but the 15% got it down to $633. Last time I checked there was 1 left so didn't bother posting in OzB. Pretty happy with mine, probably don't need the Pro.. but too late now.
Ryda's delivery is superb, next day delivery from NSW (I live in Victoria)
Mage ammeh!
