  I returned mine and got a google nest instead.

  Not sure if it was just me but I was getting ads and ad videos would randomly play.

  Also, the screen quality sucks.

  Good to give to old and non tech savvy parents to keep in touch or is there an easier and better product?

  Also, would I need one for myself or would they contact my phone or laptop when using?

  Got mine today and I’m pretty happy with it. I just wanted it to use as a digital photo frame and for that it seems to be pretty good. Screen has decent contrast, colours and viewing angles - not close to iPad quality but more than adequate.
