Hello OzBargain!

I'm back. You all seemed to love NTAG216 stickers last time, so I've managed to secure 5000 NTAG216 stickers and am ready to ship tonight! I didn't want to be boring and offer 10% off again, so have 11% off! Here are some ideas on what you can use these for. If you want to make Amiibo's, please make sure you buy NTAG215 stickers!

All products are shipped from me in Brisbane via Australia Post. Often the orders are sent in letters, so please provide a street or PO box address (no parcel locker or parcel collect addresses). As far as I can see, my prices are the lowest (except when shipped direct from overseas). If you find the same product cheaper (shipped from within Australia) let me know and I'll try beat it!

Below is a list of all products I have available, use the code OzBargain11 for an extra 11% off! Any issues/questions, please comment or send me a message at [email protected]

Read online for Amiibo that they aren't rewriteable, but in the previous thread, people mentioned that these tags are… which is it?

    • specs on an eBay page that I found mention that they can be erased greater than 100 000 times.

      It's both.

You need to turn them to read only after writing for amiibo. So for this use case you can only use once.

    • Amazon site seems to be down for me. I can't reach it.

    • I’m still slightly cheaper once you take the 11% off :)

  • They're cheaper on eBay too. But thank you for bringing these to my attention OP. My imagination has been thoroughly aroused thinking of what I could use these for :)

Any local sellers on eBay you can link me to? Happy to try beat them.

Can I spoof my gym fob with this? Fitness First on the off chance that anyone has managed

  • Often the orders are sent in letters,

Could you bold this? I was looking for it and it's too positive to leave hidden.

    • Done! Thanks

  • Might be an ignorant question, however, what is the difference between, say NTAG213 and NTAG216?
    Thanks

    • +1

Not at all! Common question. The difference is basically how much data can be stored on each chip. NTAG213 can hold 144 bytes, NTAG215 504 bytes and NTAG216 888 bytes.

      • So amiibo are 540 bytes right? So a 215 wouldn't cut it?

        • I’m unsure how many bytes an Amiibo is, but 215 definitely works.

      • Can I use this with iPhone 8 and 12

        • I believe the iPhone 8 has NFC capability and I have the iPhone X which works with them, so I'm guessing the 12 should be fine!

  • What’s the best way to get these to trigger something on Tuya or Alexa with an iPhone?

I've use these NFC stickers to create custom tags for my Raspberry Pi NFC jukebox (using Lego Minifigures). The stickers are encased in a coin holder with a 2x2 LEGO base plate glued to the holder. More on: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-makes-lego-min…

  • Awesome idea!
