How does the price compare to previous prices?

    • +1

Check the CamelCamelCamel link at the bottom. For Amazon, never been lower.

    Nice.

  • +3

Reviews seem fairly good. Says it's quiet and does a good job. Needed a new cooler so here we go.

    • i have it… reviews are correct so far .. lol

  • Can this fit into the DELL XPS8940? Any help would be appreciated.

  • +2

Nice I bought this a few months back as a stop gap for $100, actually still using it. Seems to keep my 5900x cool in a NR200 case.

    • did you capture before and after temps?

      • +2

5900x doesn't come with a stock cooler so I assume he didn't get any before temps as you will risk damaging the cpu without a cooler.

  • Question from a PC building noob - I have a Coolermaster Hyper 212 installed, would this AIO be quieter? I'm finding that the Coolermaster's fans are really loud.

    • +2

Unlikely, I did a similar move and ended up buying 2 be quiet fans to replace the fans on this as I could still hear them even through my headset. I think with the change it worked out better than most of the AIO in that price range of ~120

    • how fast are your fans spinning to be noisy?
      I find the 212 acceptible.
Even during a gaming sesh at 50% @ 60 deg they are bearable, my case fans are louder.

      • +1

Maybe it's the case fans then that are noisy, I'll have to figure it out.

        • Very likely or check/adjust your fan speed/profiles, it made a big difference for me.
The stock speed/profiles was always spinning 70% + unnecessarily.

        • +1

PSU fans are also often a culprit. Especially if it's a cheap PSU, the fans in those things are always pretty loud

    • You have to consider that these have a pump too.

Depending on your case size and clearance but you're probably better off with a noctua cooler.

    • Is it a while since you've given your cooler a clean? I ran the 212 for around 8 years and it was always pretty quiet when kept clean (possible they changed fans over the years though.

It was definitely quieter than the Gammax L360 AIO I replaced it with.

    • Yes absolutely it would be quieter. The thing about watercoolers like this is that 'spikes' in heat are smoothed out, and it's those sudden ramp up/downs that tend to be the most noticeable fan-noise wise. It's also just more efficient getting the heat out, which means that the fans can spin a bit quieter.

  • Do the RGB LEDs make your PC cooler?

    • +5

      Green helps, blue is coolest.

      • red is the worst setting

  • +7

    Current supply market
    Cheap case - check
    Cheap cooling - check
    Cheap ssd - check
    Cheap motherboard - check
Cheap last gen cpu - check
    Cheap graphics card - omfgwigowtp!!!!!!

  • +2

Too busy to open the case and install this, no time to be a enthusiast anymore

  • Dumb question, will a CPU cooler like this help also cool the GPU? I always figured that if you were gaming you'd want to cool down the GPU not the CPU?

    • +2

Not really. But nzxt have a bracket that allows you attach any 120ml AIO but it’s more of a gimmick. Most GPUs are designed to withstand heat till about 90 degrees before throttling. More for aesthetics really.

    Back to 99.99

  • +9
    • For anyone that missed out on the original deal this one seems to still be in stock for $70

      Edit: back at $99 now

      • Not anymore

    Cheers OP.
Think I got the last one.

  • I sometimes wonder what computer components would look like if designed for complete utility and with no visual enhancement at all. Just purely practical like some military or commercial tech. Probably pretty cool and also not always in black. Green circuit boards! Maybe I'm pining for the 90's.

    • Probably pretty much the same without RGB fans. An AIO water cooler is literally a radiator, a pump and fan/s. I've changed fans out on my coolers before to improve noise and performance but these are marginal gains. There isn't much tech in the pump or radiator. Just look at your car radiator today vs 30 years ago.

    • +1

      Like noctua?

      • Yeah pretty much actually.

    • You could try building a PC from components brought from AliExpress. Low price, maximum practicality.

      • Or buy expensive server-grade hardware.

Pretty sure Supermicro's boards are all 'cheap green' but cost >$700

  • -1

There's more from HT same price

  • I'm currently running the noctua nh-u12s. Does anybody know if this cooler gets lower temperature or the noctua air cooler is better? Thanks in advance

    • Linus Tech does a good video comparing water-cooled vs air. Worth a watch

  • This vs. stock cooler on a 5600x? Going to help much?

  • This or the NZXT Z63 which is 3-4x the price?

    • Z63 is way cooler but yes you’re right, it’s 3-4x the price

  • Currently $84.06 for anyone still interested but missed the earlier deal

  • +1

Currently $69.59 if anyone is still after one.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B086BYYFG5/ref=ppx_yo_d…

    • The price on this thing is going up and down like the proverbial!

      Currently sitting $90.78.

      • Timing the stock market is easier than buying on Amazon.
