  • 5 years since it was released?

    • Looks same as SB Roar, but different tweeter location. Original was meant to be lying down, this, standing.

Regardless of AU site, will be charged conversion fee - use 28 Degrees.

Passive radiators are not drivers. This is a 3-driver speaker (2 tweeters, 1 mid-range/woofer).

  • Considering there are decent $30 offerings, this would have to be pretty killer to be worth the asking price.

$150 is what established BT speaker producers like Logitech and JBL charge for their higher-end offerings.

    • Compared to Logitech and JBL, I was never disappointed with a creative product. They are always terrific and great value for money.

    • I doubt you'd find a $30 speaker as good as this despite this model being overpriced. Logitech and JBL are popular here but there are plenty of other brands out there like Creative that make good quality speakers.

Proprietary power adapter to charge with no AU plug! Was going to buy it for an upgrade until I saw this.

    • Looks like a standard round connector you should be able to find at Jaycar or the like. Pretty sure an AU plug attachment will be included given it's coming from the AU site.

I had a creative roar pro for years and was very impressed by it back in 2015ish. Sound quality was definitely better than my current bluetooth speaker, a UE megaboom 3. Wouldn't have gone as loud though. Was awesome because it had a micro sd slot so you could use it as a stand alone player. Wasn't very durable but it seems like they've addressed that with this new model. Alloy (I assume) on the edges is exactly what mine needed. This is a great buy for someone that doesn't throw their portable speakers around much.

    • Ditto. I've still got mine. I replaced the batteries in it 2 years ago, it was a challenge to pull apart. I used it at a primary PC speaker and bluetooth for 3-4 years before moving house and buying a soundbar for a bigger room. Very good sound and a heavy unit.
      I paid about $150 in 2014 or 2015.
