Always been 12 or 24 months via optus on these plans.
I also remember was for month to month plan, signed up last year to port out of Telstra for 3 months before porting back to Telstra on their mobile deals ($X gift card on a plan)
Also includes the $10 per GB excess data charges. If you ever decide to drop that then let me know. :)
Someone on whirlpool confirmed that the plans can opt into 1.5mbps shaping but none of the Optus CIS's mention this.

The Optus/Flybuys offer ($35/40GB/10,000 points) seems like great value as it includes double data (normally 20GB per mth), $50 worth of points and an Optus Sport subscription.
