I waited a while before posting this, but as I got my DHL shipping notification this morning I reckon it's good. Locally prices range between $299 to $330, so a good deal on a nice solid rack. Ships from Sheffield in the UK, so apparently 5-10 days is the wait time.

Yes they are. You can also put a protective 'sock' on the rubber clamp if you want to reduce rubbing/scratching etc.I wouldn't use them for e-bikes though.
But is clamping the downtube of a carbon fibre frame a good idea?
You don't want the old metal bike racks clamping onto carbon fibre or aluminum.. These rubberised and won't cause any damage to a carbon frame.
@[Deactivated]: I have heard any part of the carbon fibre frame is not designed to take clamping forces except for the seat tube and seat post and even so exceeding the max torque will break them still. I am unsure of how much force downtube can take from this bike carrier clamp so I would rather not to find out.
@wtfnodeal: You want to be careful with the top tube, definitely no clamping there.
Yes I believe so. I've been clamping my many bikes for many years with these racks. I have five of them on two cars.
Thule actually make a carbon frame protector as an accessory for this carrier https://www.bike24.com/p2217040.html
Yes they work fine with carbon fibre frames. I use one for my road bike.
Have a look at contactless solutions like the yakima. Clamps on wheels only, nothing touches frame.
Yes that is the one I have been considering.
It has rubber surfaced clamp. As long as you dont apply stupidly amount of force, carbon frames will be just fine. Else put a piece of cloth in between to min possibility of scratching. I have one for 5+ years it is very good.
Sorry,
Even with the 10euro price increase since I purchased years ago, they're still cheaper to import from bike24.com
141 euros = 217 aud delivered.Sounds like a deal worth posting then.
It's their normal price. If it was on sale I would.
Otherwise the Rhino Rack option could be a good alternative (I use it).
It clamps on the front wheel instead. Occasionally on sale from Autobarn (25%)
Good for bikes with carbon fibre frames?
