G'day fellow ozbargainers, i was in the market to buy one these machine and found this one on sale in Germany! Its the same machine they sell here for $349 at the fancy Nespresso outlets. comes with 2 year international warranty and runs on 220v,so it should work here. Grab one before the price goes up.
Has lots of extra features, eg power saving mode, bigger 1 litre tank, etc which makes paying the extra worthwhile. I am sure lots of people dont like Nespresso machines, but hey if you like your coffee you will try anything once. The VAT comes off the price before shipping and brings it down to 60 euro, but the shipping hurts! I bought one using my amazon UK login/password and it worked just fine. The shipping is express (thats the only option allowed). This machine also takes the reusable capsules sold on ebay.

  • Nice price.

  • What's the difference between this one and the $100 XN2003 delivered from Amazon Italy?

    • +1

      No automatic pour. And $30.

      • Sorry, bit new to these machines, what's automatic pour?

        • +1

A function which means you don't need to press the button again to stop the coffee from flowing - you preset the amount you want and automatically stops after dispensing the requisite amount of coffee. There are two presets - one for short blacks and one for long blacks. Nice feature to have but certainly not important.

  • +1

Looks nice. Has a sort of cute sophistication about it :D

    Automatic pour?

Does this one come with the aerocino milk frothing unit thing?

  • +7

Or, if you want to pay the extra (around $200 all up), I suggest the Krups XN7106 Citiz and Milk at:
    http://www.amazon.it/Krups-XN-7106-Nespresso%C2%AE-fire-engi…
I ordered it on the 22nd Dec, and it arrived today (28th Dec). Considering Xmas/Boxing Day public holidays, it was pretty fast delivery! Highly recommended!

    • Can you make a big cup (mug) of coffee with it or just those tiny cups?

I like to make a large latte and put it into a travel mug for the journey to work.

      • yeah, just use the capsule and add a heap of milk. Or if you like it strong use two capsules?

      • From the Nespresso Citiz site, the little metal shelf folds away, allowing bigger mugs

        http://www.nespresso.com/citiz/

Just bought the unit aldog referenced, was wondering how EURO163 plus del turned into $200, until VAT came off, of course. Duh.

Now to keep a lookout for cheap pods.

      • You can also set your cup size, so he machine can cater for your big mugs :)

    • How did you ship it to Australia?

"We are not able to ship this item to your default shipping address."
      From and sold by Amazon.it

    • Gee thanks for that one, just ordered one, $196 delivered (using 28 degrees)!!!!

      • What is 28 Degrees? I just ordered as well and it was around 154 EUR delivered. Sure I will use that more frequently. Considering the nearly identical (same Nespresso internals) Delonghi CitiZ and Milk is at Myer right now for 499 AUD getting it for $194 is a bargain!

        • 28 deg is a no commissions international credit card, you pay the exact conversion rate:
          http://www.28degreescard.com.au/

My brother in law just got the delonghi one for $499 for his mom for chrisi, I almost feel bad… :-D

    • BTW Aldog, did you need to change the plug to an Australian cord/plug?

    • Thanks! I ordered it on the night of the 30th and I received it this morning, 3.5 days after ordering, happy with it so far and just ordered the 250 caps welcome pack.

  • g'day everyone. This machine is one of the newer ones krups has put out, so it has power saving feature, bigger water tank etc etc which XN2003 doesnt have. It doesnt come with the frother either. I really didnt need one as i already had a krups XL2000 frothing maching (which i must say kicks a**)just do a search on you tube for it, then you know what i mean! My machine should arrive in perth next tuesday.

    • The XN2003 shuts off automatically after 30 minutes. It does not have automatic pour though, so that's what you'd pay $30 more for.

Nice for occasional coffee drinkers, but no bargain if you are more serious (ie have a caffeine addiction).
Nespresso capsules are about $100/kg. (70c each, 7g, right?) I go through maybe 1kg/month @ $30/kg, so Nespresso would be an extra $800 per year.

PS don't worry about the frother. Ikea have frothers for $3, and use you microwave to heat the milk.

I think it's about $.70 to $1 each. You could always get the refillable capsules. Someone in the other thread linked to http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-NEW-REFILLABLE-Coffeeduck-NESPR…

We used to have a coffee machine where we had to put the grounds in and manually froth the milk. Too much work and cleanup in the morning for the wife to make a coffee. Ends up going to work and buying a coffee there. Coffee costs about ~$3-4. With the Nespresso system, she makes it in the morning in seconds and puts in a travel mug. We also used to go out and get a nice coffee. And of course when you are out getting a coffee, might as well get that piece of cake etc. It adds up. Now we just have a coffee here or when we go out to eat, we come back and have a coffee at home. So my point is wives are expensive.

Also, unless it's easy to clean and dead simple to do on a regular basis, people will end up neglecting the appliance. I'm the proud owner of a chocolate fountain, Foreman grill, deep fryer, waffle maker, breadmaker and Nespresso machine of which I only use the last 2 regularly.

    • +1

Very misleading comparison. It's true that very regular coffee drinkers will pay more with Nespresso, but there are many other costs that you don't pay with Nespresso:
      - no need for a grinder
      - no wasted beans
      - no 'bad' shots from operator error

Nespresso offers good quality coffee and convenience, pure and simple. Yes you can get better coffee and yes you can save money. But you can't do either and maintain convenience. Like the other poster, convenience means I actually use my machine.

      • Very misleading comparison.

Sorry, not intended. I did say that Nespresso is better for many users. That's partly because of not needing the cash, time and benchspace for a grinder. I am very impressed with the consistent quality from Nespresso machines.

        • Or you can get those from Aldi. Their capsules cost less than half of those from Nespresso. Have not tried them though.

      • You can buy coffee pre-ground, and wasted coffee from operator error isn't really factored into cost for the average user.

  • Errr..trying to purchase one from amazon italy, is there any language dropdown options somewhere?

    • No dropdown options. http://translate.google.com.au/

Once you go to the secure part try opening Amazon UK to do a mock order so you can figure out what buttons correspond to what. I had issues with my credit card (CC companys fault) when I ordered off of Amazon.it. They only officially do support in Italian but after a couple of bad Google Translated email conversations, someone who spoke English helped me out.

      • +4

Or just do what other users (including me) have done - just download Google Chrome and install, copy and paste the Amazon Italy URL into the browser bar and hit enter, and it comes up with a box at the top asking if you want it translated - hit yes and off you go :)

been having great coffee everyday since I got the deal from amazon spain. Imo, the citiz is really worth the extra $70, if just on looks alone. The milk frother is fantastic.

  • Are these things really much easier to use? We have a normally machine but the time to clean it means it doesnt get used.

What do you have to clean with these after using?

Anyone used the refillable pods off ebay?

    • The empty pod just falls inside the emptying tray or whatever. Pretty easy to clean as there's no spillage or anything in there.

Refillable pods will mean you will have to clean the pods.

    • What "normal" machine? With espresso you just drop the used puck in the bin, and give the head a quick rinse under the tap. Takes a few seconds with the Krups XP recently listed on ozbargain. Some are more difficult.

Refillable pods would completely defeat the purpose of this machine (convenience and keeping the grounds fresh).

    • It's the reason why I haven't bought a coffee machine until now..It's unbelievably easy to clean and takes just 10 secs..a quick wipe, take the tray out and empty the pods and empty the water filter each night.

  • Do you have any information on the International Warranty? There is no mention of it on the Amazon site. Is it possible to get it repaired in Australia under the warranty?

  • The warranty is through krups Australia ph 02-97487944 i am sure they have authorised dealers in each major cap city as well. Alternatively you can register your machine using the serial number with Nespresso (online) and they also cover your machine for 2yrs, plus they'll give you al loan machine if yours needs repair under warranty.

  • Does this machine / european machine work in Australia?

    • Yes. Just need to pick up a plug for the end which you can get at any $2 shop/electronics store. Voltage is the same.

  • Cheers for this. Ordered mine on the evening of the 29th, received this afternoon.

  • Just got mine today very happy with the taste and delivery time, I am trying to register the machine at Nespresso.com but it does not show up under the available machines for Krups.. Has anyone had success in registering their machine on Nespresso.com.

  • WHere would one get the english manual for this machine?
