  • $230 shipping for me, had me excited for a minute. Good deals if you live somewhere with cheaper delivery/pick up

    • +1

unfortunately wa, darwin, outer metro etc are usually excluded

  • +4

Appliances online don’t deliver to Canberra (2600). Classes our nations capital as regional NSW.

    • +7

The Appliances Online website says they'll deliver a 65" TV to Canberra (2600), so more than likely they will deliver to you. Their eBay account automatically excludes non-metro areas because occasionally people out the back of Bourke would try to order large items. Send a message to them and ask if they will deliver to you. I've been through this before and successfully ordered a dryer from their eBay even though I was in regional NSW and their eBay excluded my address. When I did so, they told me make the order but to put my postcode as 2000, then to message them to amend the order.

      • Thanks for the tip

  • +1

OP need to update powerlandau last listing as 43” (not 55”)

    • +1

damn, can't update giving me a error when I try to edit post

      • +1

Looks like Alvian updated it already.

  • +1

    thank you brother

  • +4

    Any of these hdmi 2.1/120hz?

Edit - had a look and it looks like that’s a negative

  • +1

LG 65" UN73 Series 4K UHD Smart LED TV 65UN7300PTC refresh rate= 50hz ??? you kidding me 50hz. This must be wrong. I was planning on buying that in Costco by First week of March

    • looks to be right, , samsung tu8000 has Motion Rate 100Hz, these are all base models, maybe wait for better deals on the higher end models as they clear out for 2021 release over coming months

      specs - TruMotion / Refresh Rate 50Hz

    • Why is 50hz surprising? Bottom of the range are always 50hz. Samsung start 100hz two models up from the tu8000. Not sure about LG

    • +2

It just means it compatible with Australia broadcasting at 50hz. I have this tv is does 60 , I can confirm that. It’s stupid how they confuse people that way. I was afraid it would be 50hz and postponed buying the TV until I read this and they were right
      https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/bsk9ir/what_is_the_dif…

      • +1

I’m expecting atleast 100hz… that’s a bummer. I was ready to pull the trigger.

        • I have only been able to test 60hz because the devices I have can only go up to 60. It’s advertised on US websites that it goes up to 100hz but have no clue how to test if this is true. It’s a shame they are advertised in Australia according to broadcast frequency not actual output

  • +2

82" isn't eligible for the offer… Orders above $2000 in eBay can't be paid using Afterpay

    • +1

      thanks removed

    • Is it can't use gift card anymore?

  • +2

Bought the Sammy 8000 in 55 last weekend under a grand without much negotiating at Jbhifi. Good screen, SD content looks decent, but the bigger you go, the worse it looks.

8000 brightness is low, works for me as I have dim lighting levels, but not suitable for daylight lighting or well lit spaces.

  • Any 75"?

    • there is but prices aren't the best, base models around $1700's, considering 2021 models are to be released in coming months, would wait it out a bit

      • +1

        Thanks not in a hurry

  • +4

    hisense s8 65 is a good bargain!

  • Hisense ones don't seem to be wall mountable.?.? Bummer!

    • +2

      55S8:

      TYPE UHD
      SCREEN SIZE 55″ Measured Diagonal
      DIMENSIONS (INCLUDING STAND) 1227x778x257
      DIMENSIONS (WITHOUT STAND) 1227x711x78
      VESA WALL MOUNT DIMENSIONS 300 x 200
      STAR RATING TBC

      65" is also 300 x 200

      Specs from Hisense's Australian website

    • +1

Lol what makes you think that? Its a 300x200 vesa. Even the 85" is with a 800x400 vesa mount

      • Look at the picture of the back on OP link.
I must be blind, can't see it.

        • Look at the spec sheet not pictures. They could be hidden behind panels etc or the pics could just be bad renders

  • Any 75"? edit nevermind asked above

  • Hi OP
I need to get 6 of these for a couple of holiday rentals, all 65 inch, which would you pick of these listed?
Also eventually need one 75 inch and hoping to get the same model
I’ve done a bit of research but am not tech savvy so don’t really understand the difference in the specs

    • +4

If you were buying for yourself I’d go the Samsung, Being just for rental properties I’d go the hisense @ $860 hard to pass up, these are all just base modes nothing special but will do the job, I’m not that tech savvy either so others may want to give their opinion, if you go with LG/Samsung maybe try calling JB/TGG sales number below to negotiate a deal as 6 is a pretty good order
      JB - 135244
      TGG - 1300942765

Discount through after pay is $150 max so you’ll have to do it in multiple transactions

      • +1

Great thanks so much, Hisense makes the most sense
Shipping for me is $238 a tv in this deal so might have some luck with your good guys/jb suggestion
        Thanks again

        • Sucks about the shipping, another suggestion can Also try calling powerland on 1300664684 mention this deal that shipping is stopping you from buying & if they can do the same deal buying direct from them & include free shipping

        • +1

Just priced matched over the phone with JB - Took all of 5 mins.

  • Dumb question but you need to pay woth after pay to make any of these work?

    • Yes

    • Maybe not. Some people on ozb were by passing using ebay gift cards. I am unsure if ebay have closed that loophole. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/605189#comment-10103094

      • Seems like it’s closed now.

Might be able setup afterpay and pay $1 balance with it, but for the full amount with gift cards it’s not working for me now.

EDIT: weird I just tried again and it worked. Maybe you need to do it in a specific order.

  • ….my sony x9400c just died last night. In the market for a 75" but guess I will wait until the new models with hdmi 2.1 comes out.

5 yrs…..television nowadays just dont last, it all happen when I was playing control on xbox s x, was at the astral plane area where the whole screen flashes bright white…..really bright and that is when the tv goes dead 4 freakin bleeps in red.

Now i have to use a lmao dell 27" 4k to complete the director's missions.

Dissapointing but at the same time sort of glad as it gives me an excuse to buy a new tv in the near future with hdmi 2.1 120hz specs.

    • +2

      Statutory warranty?

That was a super high end TV 5 years ago and is still very good.

      • +2

Thanks, Sony offered me a $1900 for the 9500h.

        I took the offer.

        • +1

That's really good. Was a simple process or they asked for invoice, videos etc?

        • Awesome news. Thanks for the update.

  • Can anyone (who's done more research than me) provide insight on the Hisense S8 vs S5? Choice seems to say the S5 is better although S8 is more exxy in comparable size. Review sites seem to have them being similar. Any thoughts?

    • CHOICE says the S5 is much better than the S8. On the other hand The Good Guys owner reviews of the S8 are very positive. So who do you believe? A panel of experts who methodically compare and test tvs or an owner?

      By the way, S5, S8 - what happened to S6 and S7?

      • Well yeah. Reviews on product review and others are very mixed too. Some say the s8 is great, others say its crap. Have taken a punt, will see how it goes.

  • cheaper through the EPP portal. 75 inch samsung $1682, 65 inch $1105

    • An employee program.?

  • +1

Thanks, got the 43 TU8000, $114 cheaper than EPP

  • I am an ebay plus member. But 12% discount is not shown. :(
Is there any reason for it?

    • enter PLUSAY12 at checkout & choose AfterPay as payment

  • Any 85” screens?

  • @rogueWolf, can these codes be used on any fridges?

    • yeah aslong as they accept afterpay & it's under $2k, but discount is only max $150, might get a better discount negotiating in-store for fridges

  • Nice S8 prices wow

  • +2

No Q8 deals :( S8 is pretty mediocre.

    • In what way is it mediocre?

      • No local dimming for starters.

      • +2

No full array local dimming, meaning HDR movies (Netflix) are hard to see due to low brightness, poor contrast, washed out colours etc. Renders it useless in any bright room. No Disney+ or Kayo apps, the software is oftentimes poor and buggy. Sony has Airplay 2 and Apple TV if that's useful for you. Check the rtings.com compare tool for these TVs. The brightness of these TVs, especially the Hisense, playing SDR and HDR content is just appalling, worse than my cheap 2017 Sony X800E which is hard to see in a bright room playing movies on Netflix.

The LG is absolutely the one to go with due to the app selection and better display. The Samsung is even worse than the Hisense for the money.

        • I tend to watch movies in the dark so hopefully it will be ok. :) Thanks for your detailed response. I appreciate it.

          • +1

@Fredorishi: Yes, the Hisense will be fine in a dark room, not worth spending more for an LG or Sony unless you want Disney+, Kayo, and in the case of Sony, Airplay and Apple TV. Android TVs also provide native screen and photo mirroring. If you do need those features you can spend $50 on a Google Chromecast 3, which is a slight inconvenience.

The models above that (upper mid-range) provide HDMI 2.1, 120Hz and even better displays, suited to gaming and movies in bright rooms.

  • Hi Guys,

I ordered a Samsung 65 Inch TU800 Crystal UHD last night. Remember to pay with Ebay Egift cards (5% off from Cash Rewards website).

    My order summary as below:

    Order total

    Subtotal AU $1,308.00
    Postage Free
    Gift card -AU $1,126.40
    Coupon, Voucher -AU $150.00
    Total AU $31.60

    $31.60 paid by AfterPay :)

    • Shows as 1% off on Cash Rewards site for me. Did it change today?

  • rtings.com rates the Hisense 55H8G the best budget 4K tv under $500 in the US. Is that model sold here under another number?

    • +1

Yes, that model is the Hisense Q8. Fair bit more expensive. Hisense makes it very confusing, presumably due to small regional specifications differences, and so that people can't read international reviews.

The Sony X900H is around the same price and marginally better in all areas.

Something to note is that the Australian version (Q8) runs on VIDAA instead of Android TV which sucks. No Disney+, no Kayo, no Airplay, no Apple TV. Your choice.

      • The H8 is not the Q8. The closest to Australian Q8 is probably the H9G. You can see the stands being different as the Q8 has the atomos bar and the H8 does not which could be the S8 in Australia.

So your link is incorrect. The Q8 should be equal or better than the H9000.

        https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/hisense-h9g-vs-sony-…

        • +1

My mistake, the model numbers are really confusing. That makes the S8 (H8G) a competitor to the X8000H. Still a deal-breaker if you want Disney+ or Kayo, and the X9000H provides HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0 and eARC (to control soundbars) over the Hisense, + the OS runs smoother and is more responsive to remote inputs, and the TV uses 55-65% less power depending on brightness which is pretty significant.

        • +1

That's should of been x9000h. Hisense Q8 is equal or better. Difference becoming the brand name and vidaa vs android tv

    • Here is an anecdote of setup/first impressions of the X9000H

  • Credit to Powerland on the delivery time. Ordered Sunday. Delivered to outer east Melb today. Well, would have been if I had been there to receive it! :)
