who earned 350K Qantas points last year?

I purchased one of these, thanks for the deal

      • +3

Was pretty easy to earn close to 350k from all the cc sign on bonus.

        • +1

Need a few cards with a huge sign-on bonus, these days getting approval on CC is getting harder

        • You didn't really "earn" them. Would have paid for most via annual fee.

          • +8

@serpserpserp: Last year there were the following that earned you points with little or no annual fees:
Anz Points Hack promo 75k no annual fee
Westpac 75k and 100k no annual fee and
Amex via Points Hack promo 75k no annual fee
Bank of Melbourne 60k $49 annual fee
            Total points: 285k + 10.5k required spend
            Total cost: $49
If you been keeping up with the cc offers you know that these come around every year.

            • @nightelves: if your credit rating is hitting 1000, getting 5 cards in one year isn't easy.

i think very few people here can get all these 5 cards in a year and still not hitting 350K points too

              • @SnoozeAndLose: You’re forgetting Woolies giftcard promos, Qantas insurance, Qantas Assure app and other Qantas related earnings.

                • -2

@nightelves: Basically, 2 credit card per year is pushing the limit (without getting rejected).

1 year 350K is possible but only for 1 year and you need a whole year for your rating to recovered.

Those other earning is also hard to push 100k points, to be honest.

Not to say it is not possible just wasn't pretty easy to earn unless you are single no debt and a high-income earner, don't see many people here fit in this categorise.

                  • @SnoozeAndLose: I’ve gone through 4-5 just fine. Rating has never dipped more than 20 or 30 points as a lot of people who churn will tell you. It actually goes up.

              • @SnoozeAndLose: credit rating around 700 here and 10 cards in the last year, which is my average.

Yes got an email the other day that I am now in the Qantas Points Club. Seemed mostly worthless to me though.

            • @nightelves: So I'm not wrong. You pay for some points and to get to 350k+ you would need to pay some more.

      • If you have a Bankwest Qantas earning bank account you get there. Doesnt all have to be earned on a plane. Also Credit Card deals too.

      • +3

A walk in the park tbh

      • +1

        I earnt 600k points

    • Should I buy using cash or points?

    • +31

Damnit where's the Jetstar Economy Class at Home Goon bags and Hills Hoist combo pack?!

    • +3

Anyone know what size the wine bottles are?

  • at half price, it is actually worth while. The PJ are quite comfortable.

  • This or the business class one?

  • +20

    (first class nuts)

  • +2

I am keen but nervous about letting them select the wine.

  • +1

The amenity cream included at full price goes for $162 at 100mL: https://www.lagaia.com.au/products/amethyst-cream-ultra-bioa…

    • +2

The ones in the First Class kit appear to be 15ml cream & 10ml lip balm.

      • +2

        'Travel' size ofcourse

  • +6

If only you can select S/M PJs

  • +13

    S&M PJs?

    • +13

they're the ones with the bottoms cut out?

      • +2

        And made from black PVC

  • +2

First Class pack showcases a selection of inflight items, including our iconic First Qantas pyjamas, Taittinger Comtes Champagne, our award-winning amenity kit, slippers and our delicious First Class Smoked Almonds (expiring in March 2021)

So does it come with champagne as well?

    • I think not. Was probably copy/paste from the other first class offer

  • +2

It says Taittinger Comtes Champagne? Is that the "white wine"? It's like $300 a bottle.

If that's included, I'll buy it. Does anyone know their selection of wines? It looks like there's the champagne pack for $199 or this Wine pack.

    Just noticed post above! Haha

    • Link for the champagne pack? Cheers

    • +1

It says Taittinger Comtes Champagne? Is that the "white wine"? It's like $300 a bottle.

Ordered one - I'll let you know in 2-5 business days!

      • pls do tell what vintage it is.

        • Someone has posted confirmation that it's the full bottle here - 2007 vintage.

  • +4

Is this pre or post covid business class at home? I'll just get a frozen McCains dinner if its post

  • Has anyone bought before? Which wines are included in the first class pack?

    • +1

i purchased the business class one
      got a penfolds MAX chardy
the wines were averaging 20-50 bucks each

i would expect the first class ones to be better

    • Also keen to know. According to this page, first class wines seem to range from $36 to $120 per bottle. Would hate to get the lower end - makes for some very expensive pajamas.

      • Yeah, there is a couple $100 bottles and the others are $50-60

  • +4

Bloody ozb on Sunday morning's hangovers…

I ended purchasing all 3 "experiences" (Business, First with Wine, First with Bubbles).

I'll get lots of booze and lots of pyjamas - what a combo…

    • +2

"experiences" is an interesting marketing spin on this.

      • Comes in handy for those times where you have to quarantine for 14 days to get the full experience

  • +13

To get the full Qantas experience, is the delivery delayed too?

    • +7

      No, just cancelled

      • +6

I believe you’re thinking of the Jetstar Experience Pack. The delivery gets cancelled last minute.

    • +2

No, but you can’t serve the wine until you’re 4 hours into the flight

  • Are the pajamas actually designed to be washed and re-used, or more of a single-use item?

    • +4

washed and reused - I just got my pack. They are like my favourite pjs… so soft.

      • Awesome, that's a pretty good deal then considering you get two pairs!

        • I got the business class by the way, I'd imagine the first class ones are even better? (not necessarily though)

    • Designed to be washed? No.
      Can be washed? Yes.

Qantas staff can buy these (along with stuff as random as retired aircraft seating) from Qantas Stores via their intranet. Outrageously cheap and cheerful.

    • Gentle wash cycle.

    • +3

Yes they can be washed. They're ok. Cheap made in china with a logo pasted on. Pullover top and always look like a sack on most people. They're great when free on a flight to keep your clothes fresh Some people find them fashionable. Some wear terry towelling PJs to the mall.

    • I've used and washed and rewashed my pajamas over 4 years. Still seem fine! They are kinda delicate so net them + gentle cycle.

I wouldn't call them fashionable though.. they look abit like prison garments…

They are, however, very comfortable, loose, and baggy.

  • +4

    Seems incredibly wasteful.

  • +1

So what's next? The actual seats up for sale soon? Followed by a plane (less with Qantas ffp)….? Sad times for travel industry :(

    • +1

Qantas 747 Parts & Memorabilia on Sale

For $1,500 you could even pick up a pair of Qantas’ older-generation Dreamtime Business Class seats. Cockpit seats are on sale starting from $2,700 each, and there is still one genuine winglet from VH-OEB available for $17,000.

      • Should set all this up in a spare room and run pretend flights to give the full experience of air travel for those having withdrawals….

      • -1

Someonbe should post : Customers spending over $3,000 with Airline Artifacts will also have an opportunity to fly in their Qantas 747 simulator in Sydney for free. lol

  • +1

any difference in quality between the Qantas Pyjamas and the Qantas First pyjamas?

    • Much softer fabric with the First PJs whereas the Business class version is very thin material and size is big for a medium.

  • The wine in the business class pack is worth about $50-60 so its worth it at this price.

Not sure on first class wines but id expect the same

Good deal at this price…i wear my PJ's still…theyre great.

  • +4

Is there an economy class pack for people like me who only travel economy?

    • +16

Yeah the economy class package is now down to $0. It includes tap water, a stiff neck and free sore knees. Great deal!

      • +1

And the amenity pack consists of a white IP68 rating vomit bag

      • Headache and ringing ears costs extra.

  • Will it fly?

    • Only when restrictions are lifted.

  • +2

The 10% off is for Points Club Plus (350k points), not Points Club members (150k points).

  • Thanks. got a business class kit

  • +1

Qantas just charged me $150 to own a Frequent Flyer card……

    • +4

      That’s the real Qantas experience

      • +1

That’s the Qantas First experience 😂

    • Please hand in your ozbargain membership immediately.

      • +4

Yes unless you paid QFF $150 application fee with $300 back and 1 billion FF points….not worth it otherwise

    • +3

I think you just handed them your first class nuts

  • -1

Everybody pays that btw….It's the Annual Card Fee of $100 plus the Qantas Rewards Fee of $50.

  • Thanks got business class. Hopefully the 2x wine makes up for it.

  • Ordered a business pack, thanks OP

  • -6

do they sell it without wine, I'm not an alcoholic.

    • +1

Do they sell it without pyjamas, I'm not a prude?
