    So what's the deal/bargain?…
Unless something's actually mentioned to be a stand out deal/bargain, the post is quite pointless, and is one stop short of free advertising…

    • im guessing this post could possibly be stickied to the top, with a list of all stores participating in the boxing day sales?

      • +1

or just moved to the forums where it belongs because i cannot see even one bargain mentioned in the post…

Other members are posting individual boxing day sale bargains already, listing price and savings, so this posting is just pointless

      • +3

I'm thoroughly confused with this post.

        1. For a start, the link shows Westfield but there aren't any specific bargains listed; just an unhelpful list of x% off this and y% off that store, which is essentially a subset of what's being shown on the Westfield site.
Is this an advert for Westfield shopping centres?

        2. Next, there are an assortment of links to various retailers, some of whom bear no relation to Westfield. Again no particular bargains shown but just links to the retailers in question.
Is this a non-searchable version of lassoo catalogue?

        3. And yet, judging from the response, many people do find this post useful (for reasons that escaped me). But each new suggestion only served to add another meaningless link to the post and no tangible bargains that the regular users can vote on individually.
          Is this a forum?

Unlike the usual posts that graced these pages and brought us some great bargains, this is beginning to look like an after-Christmas-dinner dog's breakfast that brings up bits more than what we'd bargained for.

However, as I'm not that familiar with all the policies and guidelines here, I'll leave it to the MODs to decide.

There are probably too many to list. Though it saves having individual posts being put up for each retailer doing Boxing Day sales. This can help Ozbargainers to determine whether they buy something today (Eg. before Xmas) or after. Simple really :)

I'll +, but those store can suck the fat one. Over priced and sure to close next year

    • +1

      Which ones? All of them?

Yeah, I sure hope those rich shop assistants, managers and possibly owners / franchisees suck the fat one and lose everything.

      Serves them right, yo!

      • +1

Exactly! Capitalism has reached an end point for western manufacturing and retail. Its the average joe and investors that will also get ruined. OZBARGAIN is part of the vicious circle, and no change in sight. Glad I got a bite

  • +5

Up to 'x' amount off a bunch of stuff. Meh, everyone knows these companies are going to be running these types of sales. Unless they have some actual genuine bargains rather than just marketing speak, it's essentially advertising.

  • +1

Added link to WoW Sight & Sound's Boxing day sale. Some highlights include $999 for n LG 60" Plasma & $200off 13" Macbook.

    • Wow it's a consolidation within a consolidation… it must be like consoliception or something!

      Now that's better, post

      LG 60" Plasma & $200off 13" Macbook

instead of just a list of hyperlinks to catalogs… seem familiar? LASOO!!!

      • +6

Very ironic. Instead of whinging about a post and picking every 'fault', I am sure you too can identify some bargains from the above links? Whilst it may not be a bargains to you, it may be bargains to others. The point of the main post is to give everyone a collective view of the bargains to be had. If you are getting worked up over a post, then there is nothing really I can say to soothe your anger ;). I will have no issues if you are unhappy with the post, just vote it negative. That is what the voting system is there for. Vote with your feet..um in this case..finger!

It certainly looks to me that you are probably refreshing this page every second looking for 'faults' and having a go. You're not from WP by any chance are you? ;)

    • Need a 60" sharp deal

    • The advertised price for the WDLive Streaming Media Player at $99 is not bad. OW pricematch ftw.

  • +1

Dell might be nice, but everything else is crap.

    • -6

Really ? What's the best saving at the Dell link ???

    • +1 will come back on Monday to check out Dell. Hopefully, 50% storewide :d , anyone remember what their sale on Boxing day last year?

        • +10

Use the links provided. Kinda taking obnoxious to a new level here jv.

This post is great for being a central clearing house so to speak for all Boxing Day sales. Don't like it, don't visit.

      • what happened last year Boxing Day?

    • The page is empty… why oh why T____T

      • It has just been updated.

Save 30% on selected XPS system
        LINK

        • Thanks for the update.

Was hoping a good deal on the 30" monitor. Son, I am disappoint.

  • +1

that link looks like a bargain.

  • Thanks op, great idea putting these links together in one place!

    • for the good effort. However, those prices are just normal over-priced craps you can daily expect from AU retailers.
  • Found this post quite useful, Thanks.

  • keep this up :)

  • One thing that's made quite clear at the links - none of these stores have a clue about developing a decent online catalogue.

  • -2

Isn't every single shop/retailer having a Boxing Day Sale?! Not just the ones listed by the OP?! There are no bargains listed except for the $99 Jetstar one.

    • its only the ones that have been mentioned on ozb. with direct links to deals they have.

      • -2

You mean with direct links to SALES they have.

If there was a whole list of links to BARGAINS then yes, I'd say good on ya OP.

As it is, we still need to do some comparison between stores listed AND not listed to work out whether it is a bargain or not. Thus, this post is only useful to NON-TRUE-Ozbargainers =D

  • Thanks for the updates.

Re RETAIL - I am going to have to go against a bit of the flow here and say that these are considered 'retail' bargains rather than online bargains. For retail to compete against online they need to create a pretty good shopping experience not unlike what you would find in New York, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. At present admittedly costs are higher but for a shopping experience with friends, family etc Boxing Day sales are not too bad. Also I hope it doesn't get to a time where we have empty shopping malls.

    • +1

:P I'm still impressed with some of what Kmart has done :P

$15 gets a 10 piece Wiltshire knife block!?!

The packaging looks a bit cheaper, if I remember, but the product is great :P

and that wasn't even a sale

  • Oral B professional care 500 is good value at Myer. My cost $45 after cashback which I bought 2-3 months ago.

  • +8

The whole point of OzBargain is to pick out the actual bargains, rather than just link to every single store that's having a sale. This might be useful in the forums, but there's no actual deal listed here.

  • +1

MYER has already added their boxing day discounts to some online lines as of noon Christmas eve
e.g. Advertised bras 30% off, are now selling at discounted price online with free shipping.
I have not checked other goods, however heard they would start discounts 6pm.

  • +2

All we need now is a $200 PS3!! haha

    • $200!! :O!! lets make it $149!! :P! lets see how tough these retailers are really doing it hahaha :P

  • ToysRus stocktake sale: LINK
A few strollers with 50% off. Baby cots 20% off. Decent deals.

  • Clever Dick Smith, making TV antennas 50% off but not associated parts like F-type connectors, masthead amplifiers etc.

Sweet timing though, I have a WISH gift card and a broken outdoor antenna.

    • Hmm… I thought the Woolworths Group was always clever…
Dickie Smith doesn't own any stores anymore.
