Here before all the , are these legal In Australia questions

    • -6

So basically, no then, except in some states on private property only…

      • Fully legal in QLD and ACT currently. Some other states have those restrictions as per the linked post.

        • unless you take the speed limiter off.

Anything that is capable of going more than 25 kph isn't legal in QLD

    • +1

Sure are, just dope, speeding, wheeling and riding a donkey inebriated.

      • Or a sheep, in ACT legislation - like anyone would be riding a sheep sober!

    • +2

Honestly we dont need nanna in every electric scooter/bike post telling us what is right and wrong, get off your high horse and bugger off!

  • Does it really have e-abs?

  • +1

Where do you leave these it you're going to the gym or a cafe or something?

    • They are foldable and portable.

    • +1

      Bike lock

      • +6

This is the lockpicking lawyer, and what I have for you today is…

        • +1

Wow, what would you do with all your locks now? Aah! maybe time to never leave your possessions and go anywhere again. Self quarantineeeee

Still waiting on delivery of the ninebot max from another deal $620 delivered .. patiently waiting ☺️

    • +1

The bait and switch deal mearth scooters? You might be waiting forever

      • It's nearly been 2 months. They will be waiting forever, the fools.

      • what's wrong with the mearth scooters?

        • +2

They, myself included, paid for a Segway Max but was bait and switched into a Mearth. People had a hard time getting a refund (they tried really hard to get me to accept a Mearth scooter instead of a refund), others think if they wait long enough the owner will actually send them a Segway Max at below cost price.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/593211

People's accounts no longer sign in and the owner is telling people that the delivery of the scooters was pushed back to the last week of March. They paid for it in December.

          • @studentl0an: What makes you think its below cost?

            • +2

@BargainKen: On Taobao they are 3300yuan before taxes and plus shipping.

              • @studentl0an: And that means??

                • +1

@BargainKen: It means 99% the people are not getting a segway max from scooter city. The owner lied about their inventory 2 months ago to try and clear his Mearth inventory and is keeping the lie up to hope people get a Mearth scooter instead. The longer he holds onto all of your money the more interest he makes on it.

Have a look at what they sell for on Aliexpress and DHgate, the sellers to taobaos suppliers.

You're welcome to keep waiting as there is a very slim chance you still might get it. I think most rational people would see the conduct by the seller (lying about inventory, not refunding before multiple attempts at baiting and switching and deactivating people's accounts on the website), along with what they cost on taobao to be overwhelming evidence that people are not going to get their <$700 Segway Max.

                  • @studentl0an: Dunno about mearth stock, they're offering Segway ES2 or 4 as alternative.

Sellers prices on Ali etc dont necessarily dictate the cost price. The Ninebot Max is a mass-produced model for rental companies like Lime and their cost is closed to $280-300 USD. https://wiki.scooterhacking.org/doku.php?id=nbmax#product_id… - SNSC variants.

Ali/Taobao and others arent selling to you at wholesale price. So you dont really know what they're paying for them. GIven how similar the Xiaomi Pro 2 is to the Max (many similarities) and its being sold @ $650AUD delivered - it should give you some idea we arent getting them under wholesale price.

Whether or not SCactually deliver, time will tell but those who waited can simply enact resolution via PP if SC arent forthcoming with refunds.

But the assertion they were sold below cost - i have my doubts.

                    • @BargainKen: You don't know about Mearth stock despite all the comments from many users in that thread showing the emails from Scoot City with the bait and switch for Mearth stock?

Seller prices on Aliexpress/DHgate definitely are not cost price as they are $1000USD per unit after shipping and taxes.

Prices on Taobao however are not going to be far off.

Could you provide a link showing the unit cost is $300USD, as the one you send doesn't specify cost. It also doesn't mention any kickbacks or other business deals between Lime and the supplier.

                      • @studentl0an: 300 USD as a cost when you are buying 10k at a time is not comparable to a distributer buying a few hundred at a time. wouldn't include shipping and gst either.

                        • @hikaru78: Yeah of course, that too.

It's also very common for extra line items such as spare parts and servicing to be part of the contract when dealing with that quantity. So 300USD + spare parts and servicing costs.

Friendship ended with PC Byte. Now Gearbite is my best friend.

    • +1

As the saying goes, an OzBargainers friendship can never be bought, it can only be hired.

    • +1

I am still friends with pcbyte. I get their Xiaomi pro 2 for 699 plus a free Xiaomi pump 😷

    • +2

eBay is dead to me, long live Amazon.

Giving a plus as its not a stupid change.org petition link…..

  • It became $879 again?

    • You have to enter the code 'GB230' at checkout. 879 - 230 = $649

  • Pcbyte was never my friend.

  • is it M365 Model ?

    • +1

It's the "upgraded" version that comes with some extra yellow reflectors that the M365 Pro doesn't have apparently (pictures show it having it but the review said otherwise). The reflectors cost $5 delivered from Aliexpress though.

"Despite those identical specs, the Xiaomi Pro 2 does have a slightly newer, faster battery that can be recharged a shade more quickly, and should also last a little longer in the long-term. However, that’s a very incremental change that we’re not convinced is worth shelling out extra cash for."

"However, when it comes to safety the Xiaomi Pro 2 takes things a little more seriously, with a series of yellow reflectors on the front, rear and sides."

      • Thanks a lot ordered

  • Does this company gearbite send from Australia or drop ship?

How long is delivery usually? I paid for express

    Thanks.

  • I am seeing a lot of info online saying that its a 300w motor, not a 600w motor… can anybody confirm if its 600w or not ?

    • +1

pretty sure it's a 600w peak. I'm 105kg and it gets me to 34km/h easily after flashing

    • +1

300w nominal, 600w peak (short bursts).

    • +1

300w continuous 600w peak. It will almost certainly run between 300w and 600w at all times, but the rating means 300w is what it can deliver under all conditions iirc.

  • Do you think jb would price match?

    • You can try, but it needs voucher to lower price which they may or may not match. Other option is $699 from mi-store.com.au or pcbyte and then use discount gift cards to lower price a little.

  • This really is a bargain and I can vouch for the distance. I’ve got over 40km on a single charge.
