So many laywers on Ozbargain and in this thread

  • I'm interested, but website is trash and company seems dodgy AF. Any local recommendations?

    • +6

The ABN was registered in March, 2018. Their website was up November 2018.

Coogle Air is Perth based and family owned air conditioning business, we had more than 7000 happy customers since we established.

So, >7000 customers in just two years of their website being operational, and almost 3 years of business registration(7000/737 business days=9.5 installs/day).

Google review's look OK, hopefully they're legit.

      • +2

        Love your investigative work.

        • +5

I'm not saying they're not legit. They've posted a few times on OzBargain. They could have contracts with builders so that 'fact' could be true, and why the reviews are minute in comparison to installs.

One thing I hate is when a business closes down after a couple of years, then they start up a new company. It's going to be good once director identification numbers are introduced (though, loop hole is to put the new business under a different person / partner, but at least they're not cycling every 2-3 years).

      see my review/comments below

    • We are legit company. The website we working on it now.
Please contact us via 0403 627 943 we will provide you the quote so you can consider.

Can you price me a 2.5Kw system please including removing of old unit which is broken? It’s a flat complex with balconies with the outer unit needs to be put onto the balconies.

    • We don't charge extra to remove the old unit. Would you please contact us via 0403 627 943 so we can quote you?

  • How much extra installation cost if the outer unit need to put on the single story roof?

    • How long is a piece of string,
But also, about $200 - $600 depending on if you also need a condensate pump.

    • For straight up to the roof, 1.7kw is $200 extra bracket included.

Is this an air con for ants?

      No this is Patrick.

Is there any similar offers in Sydney. I've been looking for a good dishwasher and Air conditioner deal for a long time.

    • LOL no. In Sydney this is just the installation cost if you buy the AC separately.

  • Whats with the poor review on your Facebook page?

"Absolute disgusting service terrible deception and the workmanship along with how my home was left was disgusting. If anyone else has had issues please contact me"

    • +1

and yet the reviews I found are all fantastic but you quote one whinger…. hmmm

  • Any extra cost if it's not back to back? I'd need it located about 6m from the outside wall.

    • +1

Most quotes are for 3m then it was $90 per metre for me beyond that (Sydney price). Mine had to be installed in an L shape above a window - total 6m

    • Thank you. would you please contact us via 0403 627 943 or take some photos for inside and outside area so we can quote you?

  • +1

Anyone know of any AC & install deals in sydney? Last firm i tried on Ozb for a quote asked for stuff from me for 2 months and then stopped responding.

going to be a stretch with 3m of pipe when the units installed on the ground… and 10m of power cable… almost a guarantee for additional costs :)

    • I highly doubt anyone would want its indoor unit mounted on the ground unless it intends to cool or warm the floor.

    • True - but it is priced for the bare minimum. You wouldn't expect a deal like this to have a lot of extras.

  • +1

    Any similar deal in NSW?

Tradie installed Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aircon in our place 4 years ago. Hasn't skipped a beat, winter or summer. Would recommend.

  • Tempting!
Any OzBargainers had any experience with CoogleAir that they can share?

  • Installed 2 Fujitsu units 2 years ago no issues at all still running great.

  • Great price.

I would have thought that 1.7kw will cover well over 10sqm.

I suppose it's better to under promise than over promise.

  • Any deals on multi head split systems?

Disclaimer - I am not associated with Coogle air

We had Coogle Air install a MHI 2.5kw in Riverton last year.
Communication was good, answered all our questions before we proceeded.
Sent them pics of where the unit was to be installed inside and out.
The install was neat and cleaned up after themselves well.
Cant beat the price, especially this time of the year
and the unit works as it should

    hope it helps
    Thanks

  • Oh, this is cheap.

  • Would be all over this if it were QLD

LANDFILL! Crappest unit there is. Go with the Lamborghini version - the amazing Avanti Plus - https://airconshop.com.au/product/mitsubishi-heavy-industrie…

    • +3

May not be MHI's best units but certainly not crappy.

Plus, MHI don't make other series in 1.7kw.

I'll take this over a Kogan split system.

    • That unit with cashback is definitely a good buy. If i had to buy again, i definitely buy this 2kw unit.

      • Cashback… no more. Ended in January.

    • The avanti plus is the exact same unit with a motion sensor… that's the only difference

      • Isn't the plus models more energy efficient?

        • only due to the motion sensor…
its pure marketing.. They are the same outside unit..

They draw the exact same amount of energy for the same amount of cooling.. The avanti Plus just turns itself down when there is no motion

  • Can I please have a quote for a 2.5kw(cooling) system on a 2 storey house?

    • Would you please contact us via 0403 627 943?

  • I have this unit installed last april. It is an ok Unit for small room, mine is like 3x3 room. The unit is not that quiet nor that efficient. Recently i managed to get the 2kw unit SRK/SRC20ZMXA. Much more efficient and quiet.

This price is still great though.

  • +1

I went through Coogle last year to install my 2.5kw Mitsubishi split last year, communication was good, and installers did a good job and a invoice provided

I paid around $1200 for the SRK25ZSA-W supplied and installed (this was a year ago so prices may have changed)

Only negatives I had was the website wasn't great , it looks a bit better now I guess

  • +1

Hahha their logo and name is a massive infringement but I love the way they still use Gmail for email

Nothing like copying someone then using their free services. Love the confidence!

As a spark w/arctick, who nitrogen pressure tests, and vacs to <500 and sits for over 10m, I'd say not all sparks w/arctick are dodgy… but in saying that, no way in hell I'd be installing one of these, even back to back, for $500.. let alone on the nearest power circuit (ie not on a heating/cooling/hws tarrif) so yeh.. best of luck with this 'bargain'! I know numerous split system installers who are 'qualified' and do it day in day out… and they do a quicker and dodgier job than me, no nitrogen test, and vac for 'oh yeah about 20 minutes'…they'd not even install a small unit onto a power circuit…. I'd still not have them install my systems, ever!

    NO DEAL! IE..
'We can install it for $999, but in reality, you'd never want it installed under the conditions of the price point'……. so now your talking a realistic price point, get someone in who takes pride in their work, and will be around if sh*t goes wrong…

    • +4

Mate what are you negging based on?
Generalisations about race? The price not being feasible in the current market?
These dudes are in WA and you seem to be from Tasmania, so how are your comments relevant?

Some of the things you said almost seem like information that could be helpful to others, but instead of telling people what to watch out for and why you're just rambling about other people's work compared to your own.

Do you want to help out the community or do you just want to say a bunch of stuff that will only seem like clear points if you're familiar with air conditioning installation (and therefore probably not needing any advice) just so you can say "TOLD YA SO"?

      • +3

Yeh I see your point, I suppose I'm trying to say that you get what you pay for (with some rant directed at previous post re. sparks doing ac installs), and based on my knowledge, I would advise you do your research before installing 'this deal' under the conditions offered (irrespective of state), as soon as the conditions of 'this deal' are modified, it's likely you'll be paying close to the price, (maybe more), than what may be offered by a reputable long term business that may not have such questionable ethics, and may be around for the long term or are already be well established. So get your 3 quotes, get an inspection in person so there are no variations to the quote. Keep in mind that often if there is a warranty claim, it's often not the business who installed it who deals with diagnosis and repair and therefore if the 'fault' is caused by poor installation, it won't be covered, hence a business who is going to be around for the long term is desirable.

  • Wish they had something like this for SA. I would jump on it instantly.

  • Any plans to open up a store in Melbourne?

1.7Kw can cover Maximum Floor Area 10 (m2)

For those that want an air-con in their toilet!!

    • Thats a big toilet, id be worried im too far away from the door than how cool the room was

  • 2kw lol dont waste ur wall

  • Hello,
What is the difference between mutizone central aircon and mutiple split unit aircon interms of price, space and power consumption?

  • +2

A guide for room sizes for this unit can be found at the MHI website:

    https://mhiaa.com.au/document/srkdxk-room-sizing-chart/

Basically 10-17 m2 depending on the room.

I personally have had this unit installed by Coogle in a 12m2 Class D room and a 15m2 Class B room and have been satisfied by the level of cooling.

  • do you have any installers in Melbourne?

    • Hi, currently we can only install in WA.

  • FYI. We asked for a price on an install on a back to back install, outside cavity wall to be used, ground floor, floor mounted outside unit, no wall bracket needed. Power tap in (Tap in to existing mains power socket cable next to where unit will go) is within 2 metres of unit install. And we asked for prices on the 2.5 and 3.5KW MHI RC unit. The price quoted was in the following reply:
Mitsubishi Heavy Industry is a quite good brand with high quality. Our price is listed below:
Supply and standard back to back install 1 x Mitsubishi Heavy Industry 2.5kw (can cover up to 15sqm) $998
Supply and standard back to back install 1 x Mitsubishi Heavy Industry 3.5kw (can cover up to 25sqm) $1118
Travel cost $20. (Osborne Park to MIndarie WA, 20 minute drive) Actual distance is 32klm by road

On calling them back to confirm that we want to go ahead with the 3.5KW unit, I was then told that the price was incorrect (The lady who posted this was gone for the day), and it is now quoted at over $1400, they also wanted to use a wall bracket for an extra $200, and the unit will be fine sitting on our paving at that floor area.

I understand that errors can be made, but this was just a waste of all our time. They did apologize (Which is why I did not NEG this), but this would be an everyday price I can get using any local contractor, so I would not rush into anything in this case

Hopefully others get them to actually do the work as per this post price.
