Do Target sell Coles and Myer Group Gift Cards? ;) 20% off

Also, I'm assuming you have to "Checkout with Zip" and not use the Visa card on Apple/Google Pay (if in store). Although it does not specify in the terms if the Zip Visa card is excluded.

    • +1

Yeah they do! Not a bad deal.

You can use Visa card on Apple/Google Pay. It's one of their options to pay 'instore'.

    • +3

I'm not sure what you mean, I think we are able to use our phone's tap and pay so long as you use the zip card within tap and pay.

      • You're certainly right

    • Most likely exclude tap & pay payment.

      • Is zip pay not tap and pay?

        This is confusing

        • not always.

        • If it's online transaction, just choose Zip pay as payment option. No tap. You can tap and pay instore, same as you pay with your credit card. You just need to generate a Zip card first, add it to Gpay or Apple Pay

      • in T&C stated clearly online or instore payment… so yeah I think apple or google pay is accepted…

to ensure better call up to clear the issue….

    • +1

      From the offer FAQs:

What products are not available for Zip?
All gift cards and e-gift cards are excluded from purchase with Zip. If an item from the excluded product list is added to a basket, Zip will not be selectable for the customer at checkout.

      • That's for online only i believe

    • If you can't think of anything else to buy, Coles Myer Group gift cards are def the go.

  • +1

    good price for ps5 controller

  • Thanks OP.

Nintendo Switch Ring Fit adventure $99 + $1 item = $80 after cashback.

  • +1

maximum of $20 AUD credit back per Zip customer

They have learned from the Saturday Promo : (

    • ??? the Saturday Promo also capped at your zip pay limit

      • Not if you paid off early?

        • How? you can't pay more than your limit

          • @RichardF89: Limit is per transaction, but the Saturday was 10pct off everything? So as long as you spent in increments of no more than limit, and paid off in between, you could spend more.

            • +1

@blighst: You can't pay off in between. Purchases stay in pending status for couple of days. You can only pay off during the week and get ready for the next Saturday.

              • @Sharp: yes thats correct and what blighst said is also correct.

              • @Sharp: the pending mode was frustrating if you're intended to spend more…

      • Good cap of $150 bonus X 4 :)

        • that's why now soon many people has a zip app on their phone, this is marketing. Now the marketing share is more important than making profit for big company.

    • No complaints from me, I'll take a free $20 credit back

      • I would used a 5% off gift card so extra $15 is ok .
But I could have fired tons of bullets if the one limit wasn't there .

  • +4

Couple of weeks ago I tried to go Target and pay with Zip (not google pay / apple pay) and then got a company policy shoved in my face saying Zip cannot be used for gift card purchases. So if this has changed, let me know.

    • -1

You tell them you're paying by credit, then use tap and pay, why would they even know you're paying with zip?

      • +6

        tap and pay is fine

but just saying this promo isn't tap and pay it's checkout with zip

        • Thanks, saved me the headache

      • +5

This promo is similar to Pizza hut, Big W credits back, not Dec Saturday 10% back. Check previous Zip deals. Tap & pay ineligible.

        • +2

good point. Would like to know if someone tried zip and pay today in target for $100 then receive the 20 credit

    • All gift cards and e-gift cards are excluded from purchase with Zip. If an item from the excluded product list is added to a basket, Zip will not be selectable for the customer at checkout.

      • +1

You can still using tap and pay with zip card in Apple Pay. Question is whether it is counted within this promo

        • They wouldn't know what you purchased? Or would they?

          • +1

@jakxon: They wouldn’t know. Problem is they can simply exclude all tap and pay transactions, if they prefer

            • -6

              @ggfatty: Per T&Cs, "checkout with Zip, instore…"
The only way you can check out with Zip instore is with tap & pay

  • +20

    Is this Target-ed?

    • i wonder the same as it doesn't appear anywhere in my inbox or zip app

      • I wonder why you got negged. I’m wondering the same as it’s not showing in my app. Where is others seeing this offer? Thanks in advance.

        • +1

I got it so I’m guessing it’s targeted if you didn’t

    • I see what you did there ;)
For the people actually wondering, no it’s not targeted.

  • +1

ok the buy gift card instore?

    • +2

      won't work

      • +1

        you tried?

        • yep no good

          • +3

@modsec802: Can you elaborate at which point it didn’t work for you? There are multiple points where it might fail and it’s not clear where it “didn’t work” for you.

Did they let you pay for the giftcard via tap & pay(using zip card) and then no $20 back, or they didn’t let you pay for the giftcard at all using the zip card tap&pay?

Or did you try to pay for the giftcard via zip pay directly?

            • +1

@Kenb0: try using the VISA card and report back 😉

          • @modsec802: Unsure why you're saying it won't work?

            1. Head to Target
            2. Grab $100 worth of gift cards
            3. Checkout at self serve or a manner register
            4. Pay using Zip Pay (Tap and Pay) via Google Pay or Apple Pay.

            Seems fairly straight forward.

The $20 AUD credit back amount will be applied to your Zip Account within 14 business days of the purchase being processed.

            • @brandogs: promo won't work with tap and pay - try it and report back 😉

              • @modsec802: No where does it say that in the T&C's… Where are you getting this information from?

                • @brandogs: From the email they sent me. Try it and see.

                  • @modsec802: Didn't know there was additional information in an email. Do you mind sharing the extra info?

            • @brandogs: Apparently this isn't tap and pay eligible, read some comments above. I got downvoted for suggesting tap and pay.

If you click on t&c's this is how it says you can pay in-store

              "Shopping Instore:
Click on the instore tab within the Zip app to access your barcode and scan it to complete your payment"

No mention of tap and pay, so let someone else try that at their peril.

          • +1

@modsec802: can't use zip pay barcode for gift cards: https://www.target.com.au/zip

promo won't credit if you use the zip VISA card - you can try and report back 😉

            • @modsec802: Are you suggesting someone to try because you haven’t tried it yourself?

Worst case, you get a $100 gift card for $100. No problems.

              • -2

@eyebrows7: Worst case would be you then lose that gift card

              • @eyebrows7: No, @dcollins77 was suggesting people who won't believe that this zip promo does not work for gift card to try it themselves. You need to wait for 14 days to know if this promo applies to zip tap and pay purchases.

  • +2

Anyone else notice that your credit history gets pinged when signing up to ZIP?

    • +1

Yes, bank certainly noticed when I went through a refi recently!

    • Do you have multiple Zip accounts?

      • Just the 1. But I check my credit often.

        • I check my score monthly as well. How could you notice the impact of only one sign up? My score didn't change.

          • @Sharp: What is the best way to keep track?
            Thanks

            • @Wiser: There are others but I use getcreditscore.com.au

            • @Wiser: Try clear score app

          • @Sharp: score vs history is different :)

          • @Sharp: If only it was one signup, one among a multitude of signups (of various things) does start to add up

  • -4

We need to have $30 in zip account to redeem. Other wise the $20 will expire. Last time it was the Saturday 10% cashback promotion. I got $50 in my account. I redeemed only $30. The rest $20 in my account has been expired. This time how can we get another $10 in our account?

    • -2

Totally agree, the credit could have an unknown limited expiring date, smell fishy.

    • +3

It is not possible because Zip is currently not running a promotion where you can bank up credits with incremental spends. Your expired credits are unfortunately gone forever…

This Target promotion is for one transaction over $100, with the credit automatically applied to your owing balance after the payment clears.

    • +2

This offer is instant $20 credit. No need to accumulate $30.

      • -1

T&C say within 14 days, so not that instant. Also 14 days is a long time to see if you bought a gift card or not, so I'm not risking it.

    • +1

      different promotion.

  • +1

Shame their Nintendo games are all shocking prices

  • Does sign up for zip means credit check?

  • my order was cancelled due to insufficient stock….. do you guys think i can order at a different store and the cashback will apply or did i lose my shot?

EDIT: called them and they said another purchase will be eligible, just in case it happens to someone else :-)

  • if i cant tap and pay, how do I pay in store?

  • Just went to my local Target. Apparently they don’t sell Colesmyer gift cards anymore since January. Next best thing is $100 Westfield or Only1 gift cards, but have $5.95 activation fee.

    • Do they have any other gift cards?

    • +1

I just bought Coles Myer gift card at Sefton Park SA

      • Any notification of credit? Or it will be known only after 14 days?

        • Zip will ask you to pay $80 if you spend $100 in Target. Works like AMEX credit.

        • Yes, $20 has been applied to my zip account

          • +1

@dtox: Did u pay via tap & zip or using the zip in store barcode?

      • Nice work you’ve paid full price - no returns and no credit on tap&zip

  • +2

Anyone guinea pigged tap and pay in store yet?

    • I might try today if they sell gift cards that don't have any extra fees. Not expecting a credit, but need to buy one anyway.

  • Anyone managed to get coles myer giftcards with instore barcode and cashback went through ?

    • +1

No one will be able to tell you as the cashback isn’t instant unfortunately.

The $20 AUD credit back amount will be applied to your Zip Account within 14 business days of the purchase being processed.

  • This should stack with Target's own promo:

    Spend $100 get $20 off
    Spend $200 get $50 off

    https://www.target.com.au/

As long as you're spending $120 on first one, you should (in theory) get $20 off then pay balance by zip to get another $20 back.

    Wish me luck.
