Not as cheap as it was in late January, but a steal none-the-less. My PS+ membership is paid up until 2025 now.

Yes.
how to use it? Do we need VPN?
You need a US PlayStation account, no VPN required.
if you want to add the free games to your account via the web browser, you will need a US VPN.
If you do it on the console you don't need it, though it's more convenient on the browser.
I mean not a huge difference, but how are you getting $38.21? I'm seeing $38.99

Can you pay by Aussie credit card?
Yes.
Once purchased using the US PS account, can the code be used for membership on an Australian PS account?
No.
why is it so cheap in US and not in OZ?? Cheapest ive seen here is $60 last year. why the one sided treatment?
Citizens living in the core parts of the US empire always gets the best prices while vassals in the outer periphery like Australia always get shafted on prices.
i'm moving to US!
Good luck with that
Same with most things on the PSN honestly. This is why I basically do most of my purchases on my US account, and why my plus is there.
Not uncommon to see things at 99~140AUD (Persona 5, looking at you) when they are as cheap as 20~30USD on their store at times.
It's insane.
Yeah my primary account in US, have had it since 2013. Cannot begin to estimate just how much money I've saved.
it's because of Aussie tax. When things release in the local market, you don't normally pay the US price converted into AUD + GST. Their pricing reflects our high cost of living and wages, colloquially referred to as "Aussie tax".
When you buy something direct from the US, the "aussie tax" is bypassed, and you just pay the USD price + GST (if applicable, which in this case it is not).
I'm very noob with ps plus, but just wonder how does it work? Say I already have an AU account and bought several games.
Do I need to switch the account to play games in each particular account? Also, can games from both accounts be downloaded to the ps5 at the same time?
You can set up a US account, and play your AU games on that account. Saves are not transferable however.
If you buy a US digital game on your PS5, your AU account will have access to it also, and vice versa.
If you buy an AU disc game, your US account will have access to that as well.
DLC is region locked for purchases. But once purchased in the correct region, the other account can access it.
For someone starting fresh (I havent made a PS Account) is it better to start with a AU account as the main or just have the US account as main. Are there any advantages that I am losing by not making an AU account e.g multiplayer ?
Also what do you mean by saves are not transferrable?
The only issue you may have is trying to get an AU credit card to work. I set up a US PayPal account and have an AU credit card linked to it, works fine.
You can always buy US PSN gift cards from a 3rd party seller though if you need to pay for something.
Other than that, no downsides at all. Cheaper AAA games and PS+ subs are just the beginning, you also get better discounts across older games as well.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by saves are not transferable?
So my current AU digital games won’t work on the US account? But future ones will?
You can keep playing on your AU account and access your games from the US account.. You don't have switch to the US account unless you want cloud saves, but if you change your mind later, you cannot transfer saves between accounts.
@Mistredo: but how can we have two live accounts? does that mean i hv to pay the annual subscriptions for both? say i hv all my ps4 games (digital) now attached to my AU account. and i want to create a US account. they are both not linked right? and i hv to also pay the yearly subscription for the US account too?
@ruztynail: If you used PS+ previously on your AU account, and you want to access the games on it, yes, you will have to pay twice which does not make sense.
If you purchased games normally through a store, you will be able to access them with your AU account.
This page from Sony explains it as well https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/subscriptions/shar…
If you say play GTA 5 on your AU account, if you play that game on your US account the saves won't work. Saves are tied to your PSN ID.
@interfreak: Ohhhhh I see now - thanks for that clarification @interfreak
Cheers OP. Extremely easy to set up a US account and activate - whole process took ~15-30 mins.
Hi Everyone, i bought ps4 pro yesterday. So I'm new to this. I created US account, but i can't add any payment method. PayPal keep giving errors. And for debit card it asks for US address. Any advice/solution?
This should hopefully work for you.
Create a US PayPal account and link an AU card to it. That's what I do and it works fine.
