    Lol fair call.. Well the idea is it gives the guy somewhere nice to sit! If I were a trady, i'd enjoy a soft padded mat so sit on instead of the ground which could be covered with ants, rocks, syringes etc lol.

    There should be an option after you go through the check out.. Its like the 3rd of 4 steps in completing the check out :)

    Simply add the item to cart, at the top hit "show cart" then once your cart opens hit "checkout", if you follow through the checkout procedure it will definitely ask you the shipping question and give you the pick up option. Once you're there, in that same window is a comments section, just mention ozbargain in your comment and we will change it to delivery for you at no cost.

    Hi theguru1, the rating is based off the chemical composition inside the light bulb itself. Based off the rate in which the chemicals burn compared against how much is in each bulb is how the expected lamp life is determined.

    It is waterproof, and has withstanded rain when i have used it, this is the second batch coming in whcih is the same quality, I havent tested this under a heavy heavy rainy day though, so would like ot give you honest answer on that, but yes it is waterproof.

  I joined yesterday to comment on LED torch offers. I had two very good [value] torches delivered early this month for under $16. (Cost for one basic Fenix E01).

  Cree 240L Slide ZOOM 3W H,L & Strobe - with an odd memory function: reverts to NEXT in cycle when turned on again. 3AAA [with red skirt] possibly underpriced as U$8.19 declared but I only paid a total of U$7.38. Paid a little over $8 for a AA version declared at $4. The latter has a coloured switch INSERT to unscrew to insert the battery - I unscrewed the head and dropped the lens 8<(

    At a local Coles last night I saw an earlier version of my 3AAA 240L torch for $25. Included was a pouch & 3 [poor HD? ] batteries. (I put 3 LSD rechargeables in mine). One set had the pouch missing. NOT ME!
    Of interest was the claim for Oz design - perhaps explains the odd memory function :)

    Same crowd also had a 3C 19? LED torch - on the basis that many are better?? Didn't quote lumens though :)

    Coles also priced 2 2016 (keylight) buttons over $8: I had 10 posted to me for U$1.25.

    I came to the Zooms through the flashlight forums. Of interest the eletrading shop had listed a multi-LED torch for over $50? which looks similar to $6 units in our supermarkets.

    Interesting/confusing times

  Scared of the Dark Combo is priced pretty damn competitively!
  Cree Q3 torches on average cost around 8-12$ at Dealextreme, including the two 12-Proprietary LED headlamps that are usually around 4$ there too you end up with almost exactly the same pricing. Don't even get me started trying to buy torches from big name retail stores here like Kathmandu or Jaycar. Their Cree Q3 torches cost around 30-40$!

    Rechargeable AAA's are the same dimensions as disposable AAA's unless I've missed a big change…
    (They will work just fine. Get Sanyo Eneloops too if you can, you won't regret it.)

  Good to see a local rep promoting such new technology, I had no idea about these torches until this deal. It did get me contemplating on twenty dollars being put toward a quality flashlight. Assuming you require not more than one, then a step higher than Cree-Q3, I imagine, would be MXDL SA-28 Cree-Q5, basically a budget "aspheric lens" recognised for a brilliant throw beam, from what I read.

  -Some pretty decent specs BL-8400 Q3 versus MXDL SA-28 Q5;
  BL-8400 Q3 produces brightness 130 LM powered by 3 X AAA, while SA-28 Q5 is quoted to get up to 180 LM by 3 X AAA 1.5V OR use a single (rechargeable) 18650 3.7V type li-ion. That certainly would improve things carrying one single, consolidated, high energy density battery, rather than three. (18650 appears huge)

  • Truly impressive beam I gleaned from an enthusiast's photo here.

  …I also located a superior 56 LED Waterproof Head Lamp with four power modes that I think I'll aquire today too; ADU's seemed a more limited construction, but I imagine these product lines are being reviewed. A mentioned below sale of direct imports shows an impressive range of items, though it appears it will be ending today/tomorrow, while this bargain continues.
