I'm a firm believer in attribution. If it redirects you straight to the app, there should be no worries.

      • What's the point in linking to a third-party site when it redirects to iTunes anyway?

Interesting app anyway.. I can see why Apple pulled it though.

        • Because I'm still giving attribution to the source.

  • Seems like a good utility, but GAWD the interface is awful! The colours… oh my eyes (literally watering from straining to read the screen).

You need to use your brain a bit to use this app, as the URLs it uses as links are a bit tricky. The 2 links in the OP are handy.

Inside the app, go to the bottom and tap on "Settings". Then tap "load profile" at teh bottom and scroll about. By loading these and then going back to the main screen, you can see how the URL structure is used. There are examples in there too, at the bottom of the Profiles page.

PLEASE NOTE: This app will only be useful to people who have iOS 5 installed on their device, due to its reliance on Notification Centre.

It doesn't "rely" on the Notification centre, does it? By default all the Notifications are switched off anyway. I couldn't be bothered installing on our IOS4 phone to test it.

  • err free in search screen, but 0.99 when you click on it…..=[

  • That's weird. It was free when I downloaded it from the Australian Store, now it looks like it's been removed.

It's a pretty useful app (if you select the first profile that is). Not quite as good as the widget on the Android platform, but it's close. Why won't Apple make better use of their notification screen and give us something like this?

And yes, to properly use it, it needs iOS5. So the options to turn on WiFi, Location, Bluetooth, etc. are always available to you on the notifications screen.

Too bad, looks like a useful app. I checked AU, US & UK AppStore but looks like it's been pulled.

    • Yep looks like Apple didn't like it… -_-

  • F#$k'en APPLE BS… Why can't they let us decide what we will and wont use… My next phone WILL be Andriod… hmmm the Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich does look nice!

    • I can see why – it's an unauthorised hack. If you don't like Apple's approach, just jailbreak and install the real thing (SBSettings).
