Using binge, on Android and mobile
    .. No PS4 support
.. found dark videos to look fairly poor

    • no amazon fire tv support either

    • +2

      No LG webOS support either.

I got 12 months a while back with the Telstra Plus deal that was going. Cancelled after a week, terrible quality. Don't understand how they could possibly be competitive with Netflix, Stan etc.

    • +3

Darn. I usually use Binge to watch the HBO stuff.
Are there better alternatives for HBO?

      • +7

        Linux ISO's?

      • +8

Sail the seas, my friend. A pirate's life fer mee!

        • Down by the Bay?

      • Use HBO itself via VPN

    • Me neither, especially considering they don’t have an app available on most smart TV’s.

I got 6 months free ages ago with Telstra. Thanks to this post I just found out it expires in 5 days and I would've been charged 14 bucks

Kinda barely watched it despite a good range of shows in my watch list.

    • Anything good to watch I have six months of binge too but can't seem to find what to watch. I have only watched raised by Wolves.

      • HBO shows seem like the go to. Watched Barry, almost finished the Sopranos so a decent selection

      • Raised by Wolves is the only thing I watched.

Also halfway through a rewatch of Eastbound and Down. Lots of good HBO shows but Ive watched all of them prior to having binge.

        • Checkout The Americans, it’s really good.

  • Noticed comes with telstra kayo when i signed up yesterday but can’t find specifics

    • They are both subsidies of Foxtel so they are run by the same mob but you still need to sign to both streams to get the services

      • Meant trial, woops

FYI Binge is owned by Murdoch.

    • +15

That’s why you only take it when it’s free.

      • Is he still alive?

      • Exactly what I'm doing

    • +3

Bugger, despite the crap interfaces I like Binge. But owned by Murdoch it has to go

Do they support subtitles now? I think it was a major missing feature for a service that is priced to be premium.

    • +1

      Yes

      • +1

Some newer shows are still missing subtitles last I checked though :(

        • Some older ones too.

    • +1

It’s hit and miss. Been watching Watchmen, first 3 episodes had subs, but episode 4 didn’t.

  • Content is good but the picture quality is average.

  • Not showing for me in my offers. Must be targeted.

    • Same here

  • +1

Sign up with an account with Telstra Plus via the app and you’ll get six months instead of three.

    • And if your gold u get 12 months

      • +1

If you're me you only get 3 months..

Rambler are you clicking on the service, then looking at entertainment add ons? That's the only place I can find this deal on my app now, used to come up as a special offer on the home page

    • That’s what I did but I don’t think it works anymore

  • +2

Still not available to business customers this time either it seems.

Typical Telstra although I do commend them on getting their call centres back to Oz within 18 months. With a bit of luck they'll get rid of that stupid voice bot and employ some native Australian speakers and I can actually get understandable support! What a world we live in.

I really like Binge. It’s the go-to service if you want to get off of Foxtel but still keep almost all of the content. Plus you still get many of the channels - e.g. Cartoon Network!!!

    • Why people downvote this?

    • There are channels on Binge? I thought it was just all on-demand video?

  • honestly not the worst if you get it for free, are super bored and have nothing better to do with your life then re-watch old tv shows like the walking dead for days on end.

  • Good content on there. All HBO shows.

  • Binge is the best streaming service, it's got 'the liquidator' perfect for ozbargainers!

  • Watched 6 seasons of The Americans. Was reasonable quality for an old show. Season 6 was definately in a higher resolution/quality.

  • I find it ok. I just cast from chrome on Android rather than their app. Would be better if Fetch added it natively.

Mainly watched HBO stuff (Last Week Tonight, etc). Also convinced the wife to drop Hayu given some of the same dodgy reality crap is on Binge.

Enter the Badlands was pretty good.

Into the last season of The Sopranos now (planning to finish that and cancel before my free Telstra offer expires).

  • Anyone have trouble redeeming the 3 months free binge offer from Telstra? I have never had binge before but when i get to the mobile authorisation screen in the binge signup path i get an error

'This mobile number is already connected to a Streamotion account.Sign In using your existing Binge or Kayo Sports email address or click Update Mobile.'

I had a kayo free trial years ago, but have never used binge. If i sign in using my old Kayo credentials at this path, it says the offer is only available via the telstra offers page, and around i go in circles.

because i have an old existing streammotion account linked to my telstra mobile, I cannot seem to get past this step?

    Any ideas?
