  • i haven' tried canned coffee before, what does it taste like?

    • +2

Depending on the brand it's actually pretty good. If you don't like sickly sweet coffee though, you're better off getting imported canned coffee from an Asian grocery, the one in the major supermarkets (Suntory) seem to be overly sweetened.

      • +1

I find that the black Suntory aren't very sweet, the brown latte ones are very sweet though.

        • Yeah, I want an iced coffee white with no or minimal sugar, the suntory's in Coles/Woolies are sickly sweet. Asian groceries not so much.

      • +1

The black ones aren't sweet at all, the latte are gross though yes.

      • Personally I can't enjoy the latte variety marketed in Australia which is " brewed for Australian Tastes". Significantly sweeter than the other imported varieties I've tried e.g. rainbow mountain blend.

it depends. i tried various types of canned coffee (prior to getting my coffee machine and coffee pod machine) , it can vary between too sweet (nestle) and too bitter /metallic.

and there are rubbish ones (imo) that are not really coffee like the cocacola coffees.

but so far, i haven't tasted a really bad one when i was in Japan (i was hitting up all the different vending machines there, so ito en brand is pretty common there), although I wonder how do I warm up a can of coffee at home.

there was another one that was imported from europe ("minor figures") that does cold brew coffee, which is by far my favourite. unfortunately it was no longer stocked at woolies.

generally i drink canned coffee cold from the fridge (because I'm lazy), but i suppose if you pour it out into a mug and microwave it, you can get it close to a cup of hot/warm coffee?

I wonder how do I warm up a can of coffee at home

I put mine in a cup of hot water for about 5 mins, gets it to a good temp.

        • hmm, that's what i initially did but it does became a chore. So i ended up just drinking cans cold.

    • Huge variation between brands, but usually very sweet. I'd be interested to see if no sugar means no sweeteners, if so I'd be down to try it.

      • +1

there are brands that doesn't have sugar as ingredients at all, so it would be just like you order a cold short black with no sugar. afaik ito en is one of those that does that.

      • No sugar and no sweeteners with the coffee cans! :)

  • The sweet milky tea I was finding in vending machines in Japan were absolutely delicious but I can't remember the brand well enough to find them here. I didn't find it tasted any different to when I was making my own tea. Usually the issues come from poor packaging giving a metal kinda taste, or from overly bitter coffee because the brewers don't know what they are doing.

But a lot of them are amazing.

  • No alcohol in it?

    • 0kcal. :)

    • all ready for you to add your own custom gin or scotch ;)
i think this is the bit that is crucial to know, i always hated mixers because they got the alcohol:whatever ratios wrong.

  • Thank you for your question!
    No alcohol and zero calories!

It's a shame shipping is so high and the best before is so short. Would otherwise have been keen to try.

    • +1

Yeah, although I do love the bottled jasmine green tea so i'm tempted to get another box for free shipping :/

        Caffeine: 50mg

Damn. I’d need to down at least 5 cans for it to have any effect me. Damn you shift work.

        • Chuck in some no doze like you would Marshmallows in hot chocolate haha

        • dang bro , just detox a few days and caffeine would work real good again. cheaper in the long run.

          • @slowmo: That amount of caffeine is what you’ll find in a one medium/large (a single espresso shot has 80-120 mg caffeine) cup of coffee. It’s not that much.

            • @aja12: I always have mine in long black forms and it last me for the entire day. If I get more than one I become increasingly irritable. Maybe caffeine affects people differently.

  • Man i wish someone would bring in the Wonda Zero can coffee. That stuff is amazing

you'd have cleared it with free shipping or $48 free shipping…

    • +1

Very cheeky move to make it $50 free shipping and not $48.

  • Seems to be sold out

  • +1

Mine finally arrived yesterday. It tasted like dirty water. There was no concern about this being too sweet, there was no sweetness at all. Just awful. 2 cartoons of this to throw out.

  • Where can I get more off these coffee? Can't find them at all
