Oeck - Next Generation VPN ~A$108.37 for 24 Months (First New 150 Customers Only)

210

Hi everyone,

This offer is limited to the first 150 customers and the offer expires Jan 29th ( or until 150 slots are purchased ). It is available for new customers only. This is billed as a once-off purchase of ~$108.95 AUD and gives you 24 months of access. Normally this would cost ~$316.96 AUD when paying monthly for 24 months. This will be the final 24 month offer we run at this price.

Oeck is a new type of VPN with industry-first features. We own all of our own hardware and do not use hard drives at all. Our VPN nodes are RAM only and we do not log user VPN traffic or activity. Our system is automated so that you don't need to go server surfing to find a server for channels such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. Simply connect to the VPN region closest to you and we take care of the rest. We have 30 Netflix regions available and many other streaming services.

Here are some of the features that make Oeck unique -

    Some of our unique features include;

Streaming Automation - Connect to the VPN region nearest to your location and still access content from overseas streaming services. We take away the need for you to jump around VPN regions. You can also set regions for specific streaming services. For example you can set your Netflix region independently - similar to how a smartDNS service works. This means no more searching for the "right" server to connect to. Just connect to the VPN and we take care of the rest.

Device Profiles - You can have up to 100. Each profile allows you to have unique settings for when you log in. For example, you can have one for your computer, another for your iPad, another for your partner, another for your child, etc.

Advanced Port Forwarding - You no longer need to keep track of IP addresses or configure your software to work with the VPN ports you are given. Just tell us which port to forward to and which device profile and it's done.

For example, if you set up a web server on your computer and enable port forwarding, regardless of which VPN server you ever connect to ( any server, any region ), to access your web server you would go to username-mydevice.oeck.me:portNumber - It stays the same :)

Ad, Malware, Social Network and Adult blocker - You can pick and choose which ( if any ) of the blockers you want enabled for each device profile. This allows you to turn on Adult blocking for children's devices but keep yours open. It is also very extensive and does a good job of blocking most ad, tracker and malware domains.

Custom filter - You can take the blockers even further by adding your own domain block-list on a per-device level. This gives you complete control over each and every device. This is very powerful and is easily built on.

Custom DNS - You can set your DNS on a per-device level. You can choose for the VPN to give you complete control to your DNS, or set your DNS and still allow the VPN to take control over certain domains in order for the channels and blocking to still work. This means you can even use your own DNS if you wanted to.

Automated server selection - When a user connects to a region they will always connect to a server with the most resources available. This completely removes the need to server-surf on the users end. They just connect to a region and they will be sure to jump on the server within that region that has the most resources available at that point in time.

    Peter @ Oeck.

    • Hi Peter, Is there any special price for the Beta Testers?

      • Hi ob1wan,

Beta users have permanent discounts applied to the normal subscriptions. If you do have a beta account, you will be able to see what you get as a beta user in your subscriptions page. The current deal is non-recurring.

        Regards,
        Peter @ Oeck.

        • Thanks, could you please confirm if Netflix has capped speeds? It works great with the geolocation spoofing, but the quality can be better in my opinion. I've tested from different networks, nbn, 4G and pretty similar results which makes me think the speed is being capped. Just a hypothesis of course.

          • +1

            @ob1wan: Hi ob1wan,

The speeds are not capped, however they do run through a separate secondary network to the VPN via special IP addresses. It should take around 30 seconds to get to a good quality stream. After that point the stream should work well :)

            Regards,
            Peter @ Oeck.

            • @OECK: Have never been able to get more than 1Mbps (usually around (~650kbps) using https://fast.com which routes traffic through Netflix cdn and can confirm that based on the DNS resolution doing a packet inspection (10.200.0.0/16) so definitely using OECK proxy.

Anyway, as you said, it works. Just wishing here the quality could be better.

              Great service by the way.

              Cheers

              • @ob1wan: Hi ob1wan,

Good to hear you're liking the service. The fast.com test will throw false speed tests. This is due to the way we are unblocking. It does not get hit by a single IP.

However, the stream itself should be high quality. Can you confirm if after 30 seconds the stream does become high quality? This should be the case.

                Regards,
                Peter @ Oeck.

                • @OECK: During the first 30 seconds the image gets extremely pixelated yes, but after that the resolution improves due to the buffer getting richer in data I guess. However, I'm not able to get HD stream, just SD.

Can live with that honestly, happy I can enjoy shows from other countries. :)

                  • @ob1wan: Also, I've monitored the bandwidth in use while the stream is happening, and the streaming speed as per my router is the same as reported by fast.com.

                  • @ob1wan: That should not be the case. Which region do you have Netflix set to? Also, what are the settings you are connecting to the VPN with?

Are you able to submit a support ticket. We really want you to have a great experience with us. I would like to look further into this for you.

                    Regards,
                    Peter @ Oeck.

  • New to the vpn world. Can someone explain how can I download apps from different countries? I can only see Seattle as an international option.

    • Hi dreamz,

You will need to sign up for the service first ( it is free for 3 days - www.oeck.com/register/ ). Once done, go to https://www.oeck.com/downloads/ and download an app for your device. You can then log in to the app with your account. You will see Seattle, Melbourne, Sydney, Torrent ( Amsterdam ). We suggest connecting to the region closest to you.

We have an online portal available which you can then fine-tune settings for each of your device profiles. This is located at https://www.oeck.com/account/devices/

If you run into any issues, please submit a support ticket at www.oeck.com/support/

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

      • I should have been clearer. I had signed up and downloaded the app, but since there is only one international city in the list, how do I download an app that is not available outside India?

        • Hi dreamz,

Sorry, I am unsure of what you mean by downloading an app that is available outside of India.

In the app, you will see "Region" with a dropdown menu next to it on the main page of the app. If you click on that dropdown menu, you will see the list of VPN regions I posted above. Once you select a region, click connect and you will connected to that region. The streaming services are unblocked automatically for you, so you don't need to worry about that.

          Regards,
          Peter @ Oeck.

      • We suggest connecting to the region closest to you.

Hey Peter can you give details as to why you suggest the nearest to you?

        • Hi Sunrise Moon,

Our VPN works differently to other VPN services on the market. We understand that most users connect to distant regions to unblock streaming services ( primary reason ). The downside to this is that it also slows all of your traffic. We have built a system in place to automatically unblock most of the major streaming services so that you don't need to connect to different regions all the time. You can simply connect to the region closest to you and we take care of the rest.

You can see the services we automatically unblock at https://www.oeck.com/pages/channelAutoGroup1/ and https://www.oeck.com/channels/channelGroupA/ - we also have 30 Netflix regions available.

          Regards,
          Peter @ Oeck.

  • I’m halfway through my 6 month subscription - if I get this 24 month deal, will it add the time onto my existing subscription?

Thanks- Loving the service by the way, it just works.

    • Hi Floppyfish,

Thank you for the nice feedback!

It will not automatically add time to your subscription. However, if you open a support ticket after payment we can manually add the time for you.

      Thanks again!

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Hi Peter

Do you have an app for ASUS router so that I can connect the router’s VPN client to your service rather than downloading app for individual devices? I just need my TV’s to connect to Netflix US rather than other devices?

    Many thanks

    Harry

    • Hi Harry,

If your router supports OpenVPN it can be done. We have a guide at https://www.oeck.com/manual/guides/asuswrt/ which explains how to go about setting it up. If you run into any issues, please open a support ticket.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

    How's this go with AppleTV?

    • +1

      Hi theguyrules,

It will work, but you will need to put Oeck through your router. Alternatively, you can set up Oeck on your iPad or Laptop and use a HDMI adapter to go into the TV.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • The 29rd of January - there is no expiration, excellent.

      Whoops! I'll fix that now.

  • @Rep any word on when you will support wireguard?

    • +1

      Hi Fridgey,

We don't have an ETA for wireguard, however we will eventually support it.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • netflix.com not working when I choose a profile with Netflix Japan selected…

    • Hi wataripoff,

Really sorry about this, but Japan is actually being removed from our regions for a short while. We are having issues with our upstream provider for it and are in the process of trying to find a new provider to work with. Since we use special IP addresses for Netflix, it is not a quick thing to do.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • I believe none of VPN in the market allows access to Prime US OR UK or so ?

    • Hi abhi900,

We do have USA Prime available, but you need to connect to the Seattle region in order to access it. UK should also be working if they updated their GeoIP database.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.
