I sympathize and support you here. PT seems to completely neglect anything but the most profitable products, from long-term experience. Call-back function was out for over six months. They denied this for six months.
Still they provide a useful service all-in-all, so grabbing the 30% offer.

I am their customer. It is very good value for money. There are only two problems - one is their customer service, which seems to be outsourced to specialised call centre. So it always takes a long time to resolve an issue and goes back and forth many times. The other problem is that their server seems down sometimes, so over the weekend VOIP doesn't work at all, then all of sudden it is back to service on Monday. Seems someone restarted the server. Other than those two, it is a good telecom.

used it 4 yrs ago. customer service was horrible! only reply you with their template emails.
said they will refund my credit… but they never did.
calls never went through. well, probably 1/10 calls will go through.
i remember it was $5 per month for the Talk Til You Drop account. Basically paid $5 for nothing.
i had pennytel account & pennysim. i got so over all the misbilling. I closed my account ported my number (nightmare to do)…
the service was good, the Accounts department are a nightmare to deal with.
Not going to Neg because over the years I did save a ton on calls.
I stopped using PennyTel as quickly as I joined them after I discovering they charge a 50c transaction fee for adding credit to your account.

I have been using PT over two years as well as MNF voip. It's overall good.
Occasionally so far few times I've encontered bad line quality when calling overseas (especially Japan) - but it's infrequent. and if I cannot use it due to bad quality, I just use MNF line which is always stable and no problem all the time. (thus costs a bit more)
Also I noticed that it take a bit longer (a few minutes) to get the line verified and ready for call while MNF line always becomes ok to use.
Once I had a moment I urgently need to top up using credit card but an error message on the screen. I called the support line and the staff instantly assisted on the phone so I was bit impressed because I've heard lots of complaints about service from ppl like above and whirlpool.
Other than that, it's cheapest with decent service for my needs so I will keep using it while keeping MNF as back up in case.
I still have a bit left in my PT account but definatelly top up while this offer is available.
With their $10, I can talk ages with oversea friends.

Folks i rechared $10 by "my wallet" this morning but just now i checked my credit card, i was debited exactly $10, nothing happened at all.
You get 30% extra credit though, so check your account and see if you got $13 credited.

What happened to the top up button on the Penytel iPhone app? It has disappered with the latest update.
Just topped up with $30 and got $39! Nice little investment. At 8c/call to the USA, this'll keep me going for a while.
