Free Jim Beam Black Double Serve: 500 x 4 Packs Every Friday

43516

Every Friday until 26/02/21, Jim Beam are giving away 500 x 4 packs of their Black Double Serve. The product is free and so is delivery - T&C's are here: https://upgrade.jimbeampromotions.com.au/terms-and-condition…

The portal will open at 12:00am AEDST each Friday and close at 11:59pm AEDST on the same Friday (if you press the link outside of this time, the portal is closed and you cannot claim - you have to wait until FRIDAY). Looks like the T&C's have a limit on the total value of the promo, so is likely this will be Ozbargained quickly!

    Thank you!!

    • Sorry, it looks like you have just missed out on getting a free Jim Beam Black Double Serve 4 pack! You can try again next week.

Or head into your nearest bottle shop to pick up some Jim Beam Black Double Serve – available in both 4 and 10 packs.

  • +5

So this is running for 9 weeks - 4,500 up for grabs.

I highly doubt these would even last until the morning if they are opening it up at midnight on Fridays. Airpods all over again?

    • "Only one (1) claim is permitted per mobile phone number during the Promotional Period."

        • +5

Haha there is a whole page about Broden

        • +4

Feels like just yesterday, but apparently it was a decade ago this month. I feel old.

      • +13

I take offence at that. Broden and I are not alike.

    • edit: Derp, I can't read.

    • What’s wrong with this comment? It’s brilliant!

Do I need to sign up to some account beforehand? What time zone is it, ie is it 11pm Brisbane time?

    • +1

      12:00am AEDST

Safe to assume it normally runs off Sydney/Melbourne time

  • Haven't tried, are they good?

    • +8

If it's free, does it matter?

      • +32

Would you like a free wedgie?

        • +5

          Is shipping free too?

        • +1

          Are the wedgies any good?

    • +1

      I personally don't like it.

      • I personally like it.

Read my comment above. They’re pretty bad but free is free right.

so is likely this will be Ozbargained quickly!

Looks like the website is already flooded, 3 days prior.

    • if you press the link outside of this time, the portal is closed and you cannot claim - you have to wait until FRIDAY

      • Sure.. just wanted to see what a closed portal looks like. Literally closed, endless waiting.

  • Promotional cost price $40 every friday.

    • So the delivery has no cost, the labour has no cost, the tax they pay to produce it has no cost?

      It's a lot more than $40

      • You would probably pick up from a bottle shop rather than get it delivered.

  • Thanks I will try my luck

  • This came up as a sponsored Instagram post when I was scrolling away last Friday. My 4 pack is already on the way.

    • +32

Can we get a sin bin on phal for not sharing a freebie booze deal.

    • was there any account required?

      • No. Mobile number required for verification and then postal address for delivery.

Gone until next week - 'Sorry, it looks like you have just missed out on getting a free Jim Beam Black Double Serve 4 pack! You can try again next week.'

      • +3

lol, I just wanted to say that this prevents people from spamming it and getting too greedy which is a good thing. It's more difficult to get disposable sim cards vs disposable email addresses and good on them for taking these steps so that we all get a fair go. Guess I should have typed more in the first place!

    • Only if you combine with the $3 singlet deal at Kmart.

  • +2

well, guess im not sleeping on friday….

  • I wonder if they will be allowed to send these to NT, with the minimum floor price and banned drinker register

  • I used to love these when I was 20.

  • Wouldnt double serve be 9.6% not 6.9% alcohol?

    These are: 1.4375 serve.

    • +3

Their meaning of double serve here is 2 standard drinks per can.

    where's the bell icon ?

So the free travel vouchers / free Qatar flights like this got smashed in seconds by those using bots. I don't even know what a bot is, but I know I need to evolve or get left behind. Plenty on here would have already made one. What do we need to do? To confirm, I just want one pack. Hopefully all of us Beam feans get one each.

    • Conspiracy theory.
If there's a million people accessing something it's going to disappear pretty quick.

      • Not really. See comments below and read the Qatar thread.

    • I managed to pick up 2 of each voucher (for myself and my partner) both time they have offered the travel vouchers here in SA, without the use of any bots you speak of, just on my phone.

  • -4

Not worth giving phone number away for.

    • Don’t worry it’s likely that they already have your phone number

  • Stupid Pom, I get confused on daylight even after years living here.
12AM AEDST Friday, so that would be like 11PM Thursday for Brisbane?

    • +2

Yes, but in 10 years (QLD is ten years behind).

      • remind me: 10 years from now

  • So I'm guessing the site will be hammered so hard at midnight that the whole internet will crash

  • What's the bet they actually mean "noon" for the starting time?

    • Well 12am is ambiguous and it annoys me when people mention the time in this way as it is neither ante meridiem nor post meridiem

      • +1

        Well 12am is ambiguous

No it isn't because it is a specific time and appears on a clock.

What would you prefer they say?

        • +1

What would you prefer they say?

Depends what they mean although a lot of confusion would be avoided if they started at 12:01am/pm depending on what they mean by 12am.

Just like I don't say greater than 0 to mean 0, I don't expect people to say 12am when there cannot possible be a 12am due to what "am" and "pm" actually mean.

Just to be absolutely clear what the problem is, am stands for ante meridiem or "before midday" so this imaginary 12am is what? If it is midnight exactly then it is an equal distance between the two meridiems so it can be described as both am and pm and both would be equally valid. If however you are trying to refer to midday, it is neither before or after midday so it cannot possible be described as either am or pm. This is why it is common for times to be shifted 1 minute before or after whatever 12 o'clock to remove some of this ambiguity.

          • +4

            @Hintswen:

depending on what they mean by 12am.

They mean 12.00am, the first minute of Friday that happens right after 11.59pm Thursday.

Friday does not start at 12.01am

            midnight exactly

They could say midnight Friday however I find that most people take that to mean the middle of Friday/Saturday night, not the middle of Thursday/Friday night.

            Just like I don't say greater than 0 to mean 0, I

That's because 0 is not greater than 0

The "promotion will occur each Friday commencing on 01/01/2021" means it happens for all of Friday, not all of Friday excluding the first minute.

            • +2

@spaceflight: I love people trying to argue against their own misunderstanding of AM and PM.

Perhaps it is a time to introduce a 24 hour clock and maybe they will understand "00:00" != "12:00".

            • -1

              @spaceflight:

That's because 0 is not greater than 0

and 12pm (midday as you likely think of it) is not 12 hours post meridiem (after midday) so where is your logic.

Yes, based on other context clues from the terms and conditions it is clear it starts at 00:00 however a lot of trouble could be saved by saying 00:00 or 00:01 and start it a minute late, after all they took the trouble to end it a minute before midnight why not start it a minute late too?

              • +1

                @Hintswen:

and 12pm (midday as you likely think of it)

As does anyone with common sense think it is midday.

                so where is your logic.

                Where is your logic?

Who cares what am and pm literally mean, 12am is so commonly used for midnight and 12pm is so commonly used for midday that the literal meaning has no relevance.
Quite literally anything with a 12 hour clock uses these annotations.

Yes, based on other context clues from the terms and conditions it is clear it starts at 00:00

Nobody needs context clues because it is just incredibly obvious for anyone that does not take the literal meaning for 100% of the things they read.

however a lot of trouble could be saved by saying 00:00 or 00:01 and start it a minute late,

No they couldn't because then it wouldn't run for the entirety of Friday so then the same people who are getting upset about am and pm would be crying that the deal misses one whole minute on Friday

I am suprised at the rubbish I have read on this. There is no genuine confusion nor ambiguity only a self-made one.
As the day begins at midnight, midnight must be 12am. The moment of noon is in the first second, consequently minute and hour of the afternoon therefore noon must be 12pm. It is stupid to say that 12am and 12pm do not exist by considering the moments of noon and midnight within their own right - once measured they belong to become clear, any supposed confusion vanishes.

after all they took the trouble to end it a minute before midnight why not start it a minute late too?

It's pretty obvious that the timing listed in inclusive, they are not ending the deal a minute early.
Plus if they ended it at the next midnight the deal would end on a Saturday and people who don't understand am, midnight, pm and noon would get even more confused and angry.

      • -1

I agree with you- I have no idea when that is.

    • +3

I think most people who have completed primary school should know the following.
      00:00 is 12:00am (midnight)
12:00 is 12:00pm (midday or noon as you'd say)

So the deal should infact start on the midnight that follows Thursday, aka tonight.

      • So the deal should infact start on the midnight that follows Thursday, aka tonight.

        That is called midnight Friday

    • +1

I don't believe it's good practice to use "12:00 AM". As witnessed here, there are too many different interpretations of it. Far easier to say midnight or noon, or simply use the 24 hour system.

      • Far easier to say midnight or noon

Not everyone understands what midnight means.

This deal starts midnight Friday but some people will think that it is the 12am that is between Friday/Saturday.

      • +1 to making the 24 hour system more common than the confusing 12 hour system.
